Boho Indigo

Stampin Up Boho Indigo

Boho Indigo is one of the Product Medleys that Stampin’ Up! offers in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  I love their Product Medleys because they include everything you need (except adhesive) to make tons of cards all built into one kit.  Plus, there is a refill kit you can purchase that includes all the paper products in the original kit.

One of my favorite parts in this kit are the included embossed backgrounds.  This one has embossed diamond shapes on Very Vanilla cardstock.  It makes it so easy to add texture to your card.  I just adhered this embossed background onto a Night Of Navy card base.

To make the vase, I glued a small strip of Seaside Spray cardstock onto a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock and cut it out using one of the dies included in the kit.  Then I ran it thought my Cut & Embossing Machine using the Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder.  I cut the scalloped rectangle out using the Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper that is included in the kit with a Stitched So Sweetly die. I cut out two sets of leaves in Garden Green card stock using a Boho Indigo die and added that to the DSP.  Then I adhered the vase to it.  I used Stampin Dimensionals to add it to my card base.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called ArtGallery which is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog.  I stamped it in Night Of Navy ink onto a sliver of Seaside Spray cardstock I already had and just cut off the end at an angle.   I hid the word “I’m”after I stamped it underneath the DSP.

Now, I don’t know this for sure but Product Medleys do not usually carry over to the next catalog so if you like it, you should order it soon.  The new catalog starts on May 1st this year and once a kit is gone, it is gone for good even if that is before the end of the present catalog.  Don’t forget to order any of the retiring InColors products such as cardstock, ink pads and ink refills that will retire this year (Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy).  Once the retirement list comes out on March 24th, those products will go quickly.

By the way, the Stampin’ Up!® Retirement List will be available today at 3:00 PM EST so check back to see what is retiring.  If there is anything you really want to have, purchase it as soon as possible because things run out very quickly!

Boho Indigo

Boho Indigo is part of a Stampin’ Up!® Product Medley that is in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  A Product Medley is kind of like a kit but it also includes stamps, dies, ribbon, Designer Series Paper and other embellishments.  You can’t buy these products separately but they all coordinate with each other so you would want all of them.  My favorite part of these medleys is the embossed cardstock.  It is so pretty. There are a number of different designs included in the kit.

This card was fairly easy to make since everything is included.  I cut the vases out of Night Of Navy cardstock and then, to add interest to them I adhered some gold strips to them.  The leaves are cut outs that are included in the kit.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.  Then I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I added the gold sparkly ribbon to ground the vases (so they wouldn’t look like they were floating in the air.

As most of you know, I moved to Nashville in September.  We moved here for a couple of reasons.  The first, of course, is to be closer to two of my sons and their families.  The second was to get away from the winter weather.  So far, it has been gorgeous here.  It was mostly sunny and was in the high 60’s or 70’s.  I was loving it.  Yesterday (I wrote this post last week) it was 29 and it snowed!  Yes, it snowed.  Not a lot but enough for it to stick on the ground.  Tara and Sam said I better get used to it because whenever Rob and I are, the weather turns bad.  Tara said, it would snow in Sarasota if we moved there.  She is probably right.  We are known for going on vacation and having the weather be bad.  Even our friends don’t want to vacation with us!  I can’t say I blame them.  Let’s just hope we all (by all I mean all Tennesseans) survive this winter with us!

Tag Buffet

Stampin Up Tag Buffet

Every year (as far as I can remember which isn’t as far as it used to be) Stampin’ Up!® has offered a Christmas tag kit and I love them.  This is year no exception.  It is called Tag Buffet and it is in the 2020 August – December Mini Catalog.  This kit makes 30 tags (5 of 6 designs) and includes everything you need to make the tags (except adhesive and ink).  There is even a coordinating stamp set to go with the tags.  In the photo above, I did not use the stamp set but here is a photo with the sentiments.

Stampin Up Tag Buffet

Here is the stamp set also called Tag Buffet that you can order with the kit.

The best thing about these kits (besides having beautiful homemade tags) is they are so easy to put together.  Stampin’ Up!® includes full color directions that is clear and easy to follow.  It only took me about 45 minutes to make all those tags.  Plus the kit comes in a cute little box where you can store your tags in until you are ready to use them.  They are so much better than those tag stickers and really make your packages look amazing.  I always got a lot of comments about the previous tag kits every Christmas.

Boho Indigo Quick & Easy Card

Stampin Up Boho Indigo

Stampin’ Up!® Kits and Product Medleys make it so easy to create a card.  They pair coordinating products together so it takes any guess work out of deciding what goes with what. I love the new Boho Indigo Products Medley especially when I am in a hurry to make a card.  It includes stamps, dies, Designer Series Paper, cardstock, ribbon, embellishments and die cuts with gold foil on it.  The only thing I needed to do was stamp the sentiment and put all the elements together. It was so easy!

Stampin’ Up!® has other project and card kits to choose from in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog. Plus they have an awesome Christmas tag kit in the Holiday Catalog.

Last week we got to spend our first sleep over with some of my grandchildren at the new house.  It was so much fun.  We played and read.  We made homemade pancakes in the morning.  We ran under the sprinkler and had a water fight.  I thought they might have a hard time sleeping away from their parents since they are only 3 and 5 but they both did great!  I am loving this Nashville life so far (and I think their parents are glad we are here!)!

Boho Indigo & A Fun Technique

Stampin Up Boho Indigo

Stampin Up Boho Indigo

One of the best things about the internet is so many talented stampers, crafters, artists, etc share their creations online.  Some of them even give you directions to make the cards.  When you do use their designs it is called CASEing (Copy & Share Everything) but it is also important to give the person credit if you use one of their ideas or designs.

These particular cards used the herringbone technique.  A fellow stamper, Carole Parsons shared this technique (I put her link below).  It is easy to do but it does take a bit of time.  I love how it came out.

I started out with a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock that was 5″ x 3.75″.  You can choose whatever color you wish, although you should try to match it to your Designer Series Paper in case you miss covering a tiny bit of it.  Then I covered that piece of cardstock with our Adhesive Sheets.  They make it so much easier to attach the piece of your herringbone design instead of using Stamp ‘N Seal or Multipurpose Glue.

The Designer Series Paper I used is from the Boho Indigo Product Medley.  This “kit” is in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It comes with a stamp set, coordinating dies, DSP, ribbon and embellishments.  I took four sheets of the DSP and cut 1/4″ strips.  This gave me eight different designs because you have two designs on one sheet of paper.  After adhering the Adhesive Sheet on the cardstock I placed my first three strips like this placing the long diagonal one first and then the two shorter strips:

Then you take one quadrant at a time and fill in the empty spaces with the strips of DSP.  I alternated a dark strip and then a light strip and then dark, etc.

I cut all the extra sections of DSP off the ends as I went so I could use those strips on this card.  Then I started on the rest of the quadrants doing one at a time.

After this was all done, I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the center.

Then I trimmed off the outside piece and used it on the other card.

I added the sentiment which is from the stamp set called Here’s A Card and cut it out using a die from Hippo & Friends.

Botanical Prints

There is a kit in the 2020 Stampin’ Up!® January – June Mini Catalog called Botanical Prints that I just love.  It is bigger than a normal Stampin’ Up!® kit. It includes a 6-piece cling stamp set; 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, 8 each of 6 double-sided designs*; 4 sheets of die-cut accents, 2 each of 2 designs; 4 sheets 3-11/16″ x 5″ laser-cut overlays, 2 each of 2 designs; Old Olive 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Twill Ribbon, 10 yards (9.1 m);  12 copper-colored metal bee embellishments, 1/2″ each; 7-piece Botanical Prints Dies (use with a die-cutting & embossing machine).  This kit is absolutely gorgeous and it is so easy to make cards using it.

This is what the stamp set looks like:

Botanical Prints

Sometimes I need a card and I don’t have time to make one.  This is where Stampin’ Up!® kits come in handy.  They put everything you need to make beautiful cards in one kit (except adhesives and inks) so you don’t need to spend time trying to figure it out.  It is all in the box!

The kit I used for this card is called Botanical Prints.  It includes and beautiful stamp set, matching dies, 48 sheets of two sided Designer Series Paper, layered-cut overlays, ribbon and these adorable little copper colored bees.  Plus it includes die cut accents which makes card making even easier!

To make this card I took a piece of Old Olive cardstock and layered a laser-cut overlay on top of it using Multipurpose Glue.  The laser-cut overlay is white on one side and Pretty Peacock on the other.I cut a circle out using the Stitched Shapes dies and adhered one of the die cut accents on top of it.  I stamped the sentiment onto the banner that in included in the kit and layered everything together.  I promise.  This card only took five minutes (or less) to make and I think it is beautiful.

If you order this kit you will be eligible to receive something free from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  How great is that!!

Pop Of Petals & Calligraphy Essentials

This is another card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting in July.  Have I mentioned how awesome my club members are?  I am sure I have but just in case, they are a wonderful group of women and we have fun stamping together.

Anyway, to make this card we used a couple of different stamp sets.  The first one is called Pop Of Petals.  This set has a matching punch called Four Petal Flower Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  It is a fun set that has  six different flowers you can punch out, plus some leaves and other flowers.  Oh wait.  I just noticed one of the flowers is a butterfly!  Fun!

The other stamp set is called Calligraphy Essentials.  This stamp set goes with a kit that is gorgeous!    It teaches you how to learn modern script calligraphy and make cards at the same time.  There are 13 practice sheets and you can make 16 cards!  Here is a video showing you this kit.

Doesn’t that look like fun?

The colors we used for this card are Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist.

Botanical Builder Framelits

Botanical Builder, Watercolor Wishes, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

This is a fun card that requires very little stamping.  The only thing I actually stamped was the “Thanks” from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.  That is one of the nice things about kits.  You put all the cards together (there are 20 in this kit) but you still have the stamps to use forever.  This particular sets of stamps has a great font that looks like handwriting.  I use it quite a bit.

The flowers and the leaves are from the set of Framelits called Botanical Builder.  It does have a matching set of stamps called Botanical Blooms but I didn’t actually use them on this card.
