Come Sail Away

Do you need a quick and easy card but one that the recipient will love?  Memories & More Card Packs are the answer!  These card packs are amazing.  The one I used for this card is called Come Sail Away.  It has 50 double sided cards (2 each of 25 designs), These cards come in two sizes:  3″ x 4″ and 4″ x 6″.  Plus it includes laser cut designs and sticker sheets.  This pack of Memories & More cards coordinates with the Come Sail Away Suite which includes the Sailing Home Stamp Set, Smooth Sailing Dies, Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, embellishments and ribbon.  Everything coordinates which makes it so easy to put together projects or cards.  Memories and More can be used for scrapbooking as well as card designs.  This pack of Memories & More are retiring on June 2nd so if you like it, you need to get it before then.

To make this card I put adhered a piece of the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper onto a Night of Navy card base.  Then I attached one of the laser-cut cards that come in the Memories & More Card pack onto another piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  The sentiment is a sticker from this set.  The hardest part of making this card was decided which cards and DSP to use.  Simple as pie!

As a side note, I have written this post weeks ahead of time but if all goes well, today is our moving day!  I have spent the last few weeks (feels like months) packing and sorting, donating and selling our belongings.  It is a little sad but a little exciting.  Rob has lived in Sackets Harbor all his life and I moved here 42 years ago (which is most of my life).  We raised our three sons here, made great friends and truly enjoyed our life.  It is time for a change so we are jumping in with both feet and heading to Tennessee where there are grandchildren and warmer weather!  I have a few more blog posts scheduled but if you don’t hear from me for a while, it is only because I haven’t unpacked my stamping supplies.  Wish me luck!

Come Sail Away Fun Fold

Hello everyone!  Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me.  This time our challenge is to make a Fun Fold Card.  You all know by now that I love Fun Folds and I am always looking for new ones.  Luckily, I ran across one that was made by Julie Davison, a fellow demonstrator so I thought I would try it.  It is called a Peekaboo Flip Card and it isn’t very hard to make!

Here is the front of the card:

The fun part is when you pull the tab and this happens:

Isn’t that cute?

To make this fun fold card I used products from the Come Sail Away Suite in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It includes the stamp set called Sailing Home, matching dies called Smooth Sailing (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle), Designer Series Paper, an embossing folder, embellishments and Baker’s twine.  Plus it has a pack of Memories & More cards which is what I used to make this card.

The two sailboats, anchor and sentiments are all from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.  All I needed to do was punched them out and adhere them to a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies..  The Designer Series Paper is also called Come Sail Away and has some beautiful patterns including the Balmy Blue and Whisper White striped one I used.  I punched the tab out using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch with Crumb Cake cardstock.  The card base is Night of Navy.

If you would like to see how Julie made this card, you can click HERE to see her video.  You will see how easy it was.

Now let’s go see what kind of Fun Fold card that Jackie and Buffy made.  I am sure you will love them!

Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card

Sometimes you need a card but you just don’t have the time.  This is where the Memories & More card packs come in.  It comes with everything you need (but the adhesive) to make a quick and easy, yet beautiful card.  The hardest part of making this card was deciding which cards to use.

To make this card, I used the Magnolia Lane Memories & More card pack.  This pack contains 50 double sided cards in two sizes.  Plus it has 6 single sided printed vellum specialty cards.  Then it also includes four sheets of stickers.  I flowers I used in the two corners are an example of these stickers.

Stampin’ Up!® also sells the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.  This pack includes Memories & More Cards, Kraft with white floral accents, printed envelope liners, and envelopes to make 20 cards.

Of course, all these products match the Memory Lane Suite.

Here is a video that Stampin’ Up!® made showing you some samples using this beautiful Memories & More Card Pack:

Well, today is Rob’s last day of work.  After 23 years working at The Bridge, it is time for a new chapter.  I think he is a little sad but excited to move on.  i have already told him he needs to find a hobby because he is going to have to find something to do when I am stamping.  I offered to teach him but he declined.  That is probably a good thing.  I can just see him using my Pacific Point ink and then Daffodil Delight without cleaning the stamp first.  That would not work at all!   If you have any ideas on what he could do, let me know and I will share them with Rob.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. Sailing Home

Can you believe it is September already?  Where the heck did the time go?  Where did the summer go?  I guess the good thing is sometimes (not always) September can be beautiful in the North Country.  Let’s hope it is this year.

As most of you know by now, Stampin’ Up!® puts products together in Suites.  Then, if you like everything in a Suite they give you one time number so you can purchase it all without having to enter tons of numbers.  I love that!  This card was made using various products from the Come Sail Away Suite and yes, I did purchase everything in this Bundle so I could use one number (#15275) and get it all.  For $94.75 you get the Sailing Home stamp set, Smooth Sailing dies, High Seas Embossing Folder, Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack, Baker’s Twine and the Sail Away Trinkets.

To make this card I first stamped the lighthouse in Crumb Cake Ink and cut it out using the coordinating die.  Then I cut out the captain’s wheel in Crumb Cake cardstock.  If you look closely you can see that this die embosses as well as cuts.  I cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, stamped the sea gulls in the corner and adhered that to a piece of the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment and the two lines (they are not called ropes as my sailor husband tells me) are from the Memories & More card pack.  They have adhesive on the back so you just need to stick them down.

Wednesday is the day you can begin to order from the 2019 Holiday Catalog.  If you are local and would like one just let me know and I will put one out for you.  If you would like a copy mailed to you, you just need to pay for postage.  Those of you who ordered $50 or more in the past 12 months should get one free in the mail.  Actually, you should have already gotten it so if you haven’t let me know.

Sailing Home

Last week was Rob’s and my 36th anniversary.  It is hard to believe it has been that long.  It is definitely true what they say about time flying.  Somehow during all that time we managed to raise together three handsome and brilliant sons who now have children of their own. We have had our ups and downs, as most people have but somehow we made it through it all.  I would not have wanted to do it with anyone else.

This is the card I made for Rob to celebrate our anniversary.  We have never really done presents or extravagant things to celebrate.  We have mostly celebrated this date quietly with just the two of us going out for dinner or something like that.  This year was no different.

To make this card I used the Come Sail Away Memories or More Card Pack from the 2019/2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog for the background.  I love these card packs because they have lots of fun designs that coordinate with other products in the catalog.  I stamped the sailboat and the anchor from the stamp set called Sailing Home in Basic Gray Ink and  then cut them out using the matching dies called Smooth Sailing.  I layered all of this on top of a Basic Black card base.

Happy Anniversary, Rob.  It is true that any day with you is the best!

Don’t forget it is Bonus Days.  For every $50 you spend during the month of July you earn a $5 coupon towards your August purchases.  There is no limit as to how many coupons you can earn!

Join my team during the month of July & August and get an extra $30 in products of your choice in your starter kit.  For $99 you get to pick $155 worth of products!  Then you will also receive a $10 coupon code you can spend during the month of August. Plus you will able to get at least 20% all future orders!

Come Sail Away Memories & More

Have you ever seen any of the Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More Card Packs?  If not, you should.  They are great for card making or scrapbooking.  I love them because they are a quick and easy way to make a card for anyone.  They include two different sized cards that are printed with a different design on both sides.  These packs also come with stickers.  The best part is they coordinate with some suites that are in the catalog.

I made this card using the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Packs.  This pack coordinates with the Sailing Home stamp set and matching dies.  To make this card I just stamped the anchor in Night of Navy ink onto one of the cards in this pack and put the “celebrate” sticker along the bottom.  I adhered that to a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock and a Soft Suede card base.  It was easy as pie!  As a side note, I don’t know where “easy as pie” comes from because it is certainly not easy to make!  Maybe the saying should say “easy as eating pie” because that is easy to do!

In other news, I am a grandmother for the fourth time.  Olivia Grace was born on June 2nd.  She was 6 lbs 15 oz, 19.5″ long and beautiful!

Happiness Blooms Memories & More

Although I am not a scrapbooker, I still use the Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More card packs to make cards.  I wanted to show my club members how quick and easy it is to use them and still make a cute card anyone would want to receive in the mail.  These are the two cards we made at our monthly club meeting.

Stampin’ Up!® has a set of these Memories & More card packs in the 2019 Occasions catalog called Happiness Blooms.  They coordinate with the stamp set called Bloom By Bloom, the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. the Calypso Coral 3/7″ Satin Ribbon (which is gorgeous in person), the punches and the embellishments in this suite.  They also have a set of matching cards & envelopes you can purchase that are really nice.  They look like this:

The  cards & envelopes are White and Night Of Navy and come in two sizes.  The small note cards are 3″ x 4″ and the larger ones are 4″ x 6″.  There are ten of each size in the pack plus ten  envelopes to match.

The sentiments are from a Sale-a-bration stamp set called Part Of my Story.  You can get this stamp set for free with a qualifying order.  Other products we used to make this card are 1 1/2″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Everyday Label Punch, Bitty Blooms Punch Pack, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots and 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove.
