Florentine Filigree

I love the stamp set called Florentine Filigree and its matching background die called Florentine Thinlits Die.  Both of them are in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019 Occasions Catalog and if you purchase both of these items in a Bundle you can save 10%.  I must say, the one thing about this set is you need a Stamparatus to make it work.  You stamp one of the images and then lower the plate one more notch and stamp another.  You keep doing this four or five times until you run out of cardstock.  The set has five great sentiments in a beautiful font, along with some other images.  The colors I used for this card are Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana.

Here is a video showing you how to do it.

I know I promised you pictures of my grands when I went to Nashville last week to visit them.  Honestly, I did not take a lot of them.  Nolan ended up being sick the whole times we were there so we were busy taking care of him so I didn’t really think about pictures.  I do have a couple though.

This is a picture Madelyn drew for us at school of her family.  I am on the right and next comes Bobbob.  Apparently Madelyn thinks Bobbob has a mohawk!  He looks kind of cute so maybe he ought to grow one.

Here is Nolan before he got sick.  The poor boy.  He was so pathetic.  The good part is he wanted me to hold him the entire time.  Gee, that was hard to do (not!).

Remember, there are only a few more days of Sale-a-bration.  Don’t miss out on earning free merchandise!

Tropical Chic

This is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting in December.  It uses products from the Tropical Escape Suite that is in the 2018/2019 Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalog.    I love how Stampin’ Up! puts matching products together making it easier to buy things that match.

The stamp set called Tropical Chic and it has matching dies called Tropical Thinlits.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  There is also Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper, ribbon, cardstock and embellishments in this Suite.  I do have to say that the 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon is beautiful (even though we didn’t use it on this card).

To make this card I first cut out the leaf square in Whisper White cardstock and backed it with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock.  Then I stamped the flower in Poppy Parade and cut that our using the matching die.  The Granny Apple Green Leaf is also a die.

I haven’t shown you pictures of my grandchildren lately so I am sharing here.

Madelyn had a Christmas concert at school.  All the children wore this shirt.  They did a great job singing.

Here is Emy in her Christmas outfit.  I think this is what she wore when they went to pick out their Christmas tree.

I think Nolan had a great time in the bubbles!

Commercial Break

I am taking a break from my regularly scheduled posts to show you pictures of my grandchildren in their Halloween costumes.  I know it is a little late but , as they say, better late than never.

Emy Jade was Minnie Mouse (or, as she says, Mixy) on Halloween.  Look at those shoes!

A couple of days before Halloween she wore this to school.

Madelyn was Wonder Woman (she always wants to be a super hero) and Nolan was Clark Kent. I thought that was pretty clever!

Then you can add Waffles to the mix.  She went as Batgirl!

Here is Sam and Tara’s traditional “shove a kid in a pumpkin” photo.

Stitched All Around

Stitched All Around is a fun stamp set that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Stitched Labels Framelits (yes, you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).  The dies are beautiful.  There are six different labels that have cut outs and stitching around them.  My favorite is the one that cuts out the stamp that has “thank you” in it.  It also has a die that cuts out the background on my card.  I used it twice in each corner.

The colors I used for this card are Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, Grapefruit Grove and Mango Melody.

Now I have some pictures to show you from when Madelyn and Nolan (and their parents of course) came for a visit.  Madelyn is now three years old.  I don’t know how that happened but she is adorable, brave, extremely smart and a little sassy.  Before you roll your eyes, just remember that I am a grandmother so I can say these things!  Nolan is the sweetest little boy ever.  He is eleven moths old and smiles most of the time (we don’t count the middle of the night part).

Last year Madelyn would not go anywhere near Rob’s tractor.  This year she was helping him drive it.  What a difference a year makes!

Tomorrow I will show you some more pictures of our visit.

Another Abstract Impressions

As I am sure you can tell, I love the stamp set called Abstract Impressions.  Of course, I love most flower stamps anyway but this one is one of my favorites from the new catalog.  It has a set of matching Thinlits called Springtime Impressions and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

The colors I used for this card are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink ( this color is a very pretty light peach), Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight.  I find the best way to use this two-step stamp set is to stamp the lighter color first and then the darker one over it.

Last week I went to Nashville to visit Sam, Tara, Madelyn and Nolan.  They just moved there to begin their new journey in life.  I am very proud of all of them and of course, wish them the best.  Sam, at the age of 34, has finally finished all his schooling and got a real job.  He did four years of college, four years of medical school, 3 years of residency, 3 years of a Cardiology fellowship and 2 years of Intervention Cardiology!  That is a lot of schooling!  Crazy, isn’t it?!

Now I am sure you know what is coming!  Grandchildren pictures.  Today’s picture is of Nolan.  He is 9 months old and the sweetest baby boy you will ever meet.  When you just look at him, he smiles and when you pick him up he wraps his little arms around your neck and actually gives you a hug.  It is the sweetest thing! He he is at school watercoloring.  I think he likes it!

Wood Words

Wood Words is a stamp set I received for free at the November OnStage last year.  This set has not gotten a lot of use so I decided to give the new (awesome) sets a break and use a older set.  This stamp set coordinates with Wood Crate Framelits Dies and Layering Circles Framelits Dies.

The colors I sed to make this card are Whisper White, Balmy Blue and Basic Black.  This card is a CAS (clean and simple card) and just took a couple of minutes to make.  I have to say Balmy Blue is a gorgeous light blue color.

I haven’t posted a picture of any of my grandchildren in a while so I thought it was time.  My youngest (and only) grandson is Nolan.  He was born yesterday but somehow he became eight months old last week.  He is a cutie pie if I do say so myself!  All you need to do is look at him and he smiles and he has the sweetest disposition to match!

Crafting Forever

Crafting Forever is a set that is in the 2017 Annual Catalog but it is a stamp set that is new to me.  I have been looking at this set since it first came out and it has been on my list every time I order but something always got in the way from me ordering it.  It is like Remarkable You.  I finally got that stamp set after so many years and it is one of my favorites.  Crafting Forever is going to be another favorite!

There is some new Designer Series Paper in the 2018 Occasions Catalog that is perfect to use for a masculine card.  It is called True Gentleman.  The colors are Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla.  It has great designs and the colors are awesome together.

The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday which is in the Occasions Catalog too.

I haven’t shown many pictures of my beautiful grandchildren lately.  Nolan is the newest of them.  He was born in October.  He is growing so fast it just seems crazy.

Is’t he so handsome?  I know.  I am a little prejudice but grandmothers are allowed to be!

We Interrupt This Regularly Scheduled Program

I am sorry for this interruption in our regularly scheduled program but I do have an announcement to make.  My newest grandchild was born on Saturday, October 7th at 1:40 PM weighing 7 lbs. 5 oz.  His name (yes!  He is a boy!) is Nolan Robert and he is as cute as a button.  It was very exciting because I got to be there for the birth, which in itself is quite fascinating!  Nolan is a very sweet boy who spends a lot of time just looking around and only cries when he is cold.  I couldn’t have that so I had to hold him quite a bit!

Madelyn showed a little bit of interest in the beginning but basically just ignores Nolan right now.

Here is BobBob with the new addition to the family.  He is excited because the Horr name lives on.  Me?  I’m not so sure!

Thanks for letting me interrupt everyone’s morning.

Have a great day!
