A Retiring Dies Challenge

Hello everyone.  It is time for another Stamp Off challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me.  This time we had to use our favorite retiring die set.

This was a hard challenge because there are so many stamp set and dies that are retiring that I love.  In the end, I decided to go with the stamp set called Dear Doily and the matching dies called Doily Builder.  This bundle was so popular that it is actually not available to purchase anymore.

I decided to use one of the new InColors for this card called Seaside Spray.  It is a beautiful, soft blue with a bit of purple in it.  It is definitely going to be a color I use often.

To make this card I first ran a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock through the Big Shot using the Subtle Embossing Folder.  This folder is great for adding a bit of texture to your card.  It reminds me of the textured cardstock we used to have.  I colored the flowers using a Mint Macaron and Highland Heather marker, huffed on it to add some moisture and then stamped it onto Whisper White cardstock.  Then I cut them out using the matching die.  I stamped the doily in the middle using Highland Heather ink and punched that out using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch.  I cut out the background doily and backed it with a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays and then layered everything together.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie‘s favorite retiring dies are.

The new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog begins on Tuesday.  You are going to love it!

Happiness Blooms Memories & More

Although I am not a scrapbooker, I still use the Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More card packs to make cards.  I wanted to show my club members how quick and easy it is to use them and still make a cute card anyone would want to receive in the mail.  These are the two cards we made at our monthly club meeting.

Stampin’ Up!® has a set of these Memories & More card packs in the 2019 Occasions catalog called Happiness Blooms.  They coordinate with the stamp set called Bloom By Bloom, the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. the Calypso Coral 3/7″ Satin Ribbon (which is gorgeous in person), the punches and the embellishments in this suite.  They also have a set of matching cards & envelopes you can purchase that are really nice.  They look like this:

The  cards & envelopes are White and Night Of Navy and come in two sizes.  The small note cards are 3″ x 4″ and the larger ones are 4″ x 6″.  There are ten of each size in the pack plus ten  envelopes to match.

The sentiments are from a Sale-a-bration stamp set called Part Of my Story.  You can get this stamp set for free with a qualifying order.  Other products we used to make this card are 1 1/2″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Everyday Label Punch, Bitty Blooms Punch Pack, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots and 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove.

Dear Doily

Dear Doily is a stamp set that is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Doily Builder Thinlits and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I have to say that Stampin’ Up!® has done some doily dies in the past that were hard to cut out.  I almost decided not to get these because of that reason but went ahead anyway because I thought they were so pretty.  I am so glad I did.  I have no trouble cutting them out and they truly are beautiful and fun.  There are a few different dies that cut out various doilies and there is one large die that just cuts out the inside of the doily.  I love that Stampin’ Up!®  is making so many different dies.

To make this card I first cut out the doily in Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  I saved the middle the of cut to use it on the card.  I like how it leaves just a slight line around it.  I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I adhered that to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut out using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch.  Lastly I cut out a circle using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch in Lemon Lime Twist.  I layered each of these on top of each other using a Dimensional under the Gorgeous Grape circle to pop it up a bit.  The Designer Series Paper is called Gingham Gala and is also in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

If you purchase the Dear Doily stamp set and the matching Doily Builder Thinlits in a Bundle you will not only get 10% off but you will be eligible to get something free from the Sale-a-bration Catalog!  You can also get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 single or group order! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $175 worth of products for $99  or get the Carry & Craft Tote and $175 worth of products for $129!

Bouquet Blooms

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting in July.  It is a fun fold card.  The name of the fold is Gatefold.  Normally this fold is a little tricky but Stampin’ Up! has come out with a brilliant set of dies that make it easy to do.  The dies are called Gatefold Blossoms Framelits Dies.  They cut and put a score mark where it is needed so all you need to do is score, fold and decorate it.  Another fun thing is this set of dies has a matching stamp set called Bouquet Blooms and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle!

Here is a picture of the card opened up so you can see how it works:

The leaves and the flowers overlap each other to keep the card closed.  It is perfect to put a gift card or cash inside for a birthday, wedding or graduation.  It fits into a regular A2 envelope too!

The colors we used to make this card are Sea Foam Green, Balmy Blue, and Tranquil Tide.

Wood Words

Wood Words is a stamp set I received for free at the November OnStage last year.  This set has not gotten a lot of use so I decided to give the new (awesome) sets a break and use a older set.  This stamp set coordinates with Wood Crate Framelits Dies and Layering Circles Framelits Dies.

The colors I sed to make this card are Whisper White, Balmy Blue and Basic Black.  This card is a CAS (clean and simple card) and just took a couple of minutes to make.  I have to say Balmy Blue is a gorgeous light blue color.

I haven’t posted a picture of any of my grandchildren in a while so I thought it was time.  My youngest (and only) grandson is Nolan.  He was born yesterday but somehow he became eight months old last week.  He is a cutie pie if I do say so myself!  All you need to do is look at him and he smiles and he has the sweetest disposition to match!

Beautiful Bouquet Wreath

I made this for my friend and Downline, Char.  Char and I have been friends since our kids were little.  My youngest son, Zachary was a difficult baby and I decided I needed to stay home with him so I quit my job and took some kids in to help with the loss of income.  Char has three children and I watched them while she worked.

Char is one of the reasons I became a Demonstrator in the first place.  We belonged to a stamp club where the Demonstrator stopped and she talked me into joining and starting may own club.  Then Char became a downline last year during Sale-a-bration.  Last week she promoted within the Stampin’ Up! family which, in turn, made me promote!  Yay for both of us.  I am super excited about it.

I decided to make this card as a thank you to Char because I love the sentiment and it fit perfectly.  I used the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet which is in the Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Bouquet Bunch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I didn’t use the dies this time but they are beautiful. The colors I used are Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum and Basic Black.  I think it is a sweet, simple card that conveys my feeling for Char.

Remember, now is a great time to join Stampin’ Up!.  Normally you get to choose $125 worth of product for $99 (plus tax, free shipping!) but during Sale-a-bration you get an additional TWO stamps sets of your choice at no charge!   Then you get to enjoy 20% (or more) off all your future purchases!  How awesome is that!!   Just click on the Join Now button to the right of this post.  There is no obligation to buy another thing but everyone loves a discount so you just might!

Congratulations, Char on your promotion and thank you for helping me promote too!

A Stamp Off Color Challenge

Hello everyone!  Thanks for joining us again on our bi-weekly Stamp Off Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

Now, I am not sure if Buffy or Jackie gave us these colors but I do have to admit I had a hard time using them.  They are definitely outside of my comfort zone but after a lot of trial and error, I managed to make this card.

I used the stamp set called Bike Ride.  This set has matching Framelits called Build a Bike and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. The thing I love about this set is  there is a matching Framelit for every piece of the bike.  Plus, the stamp set is a two-step stamp set which means it takes two or more stamps to make an image.  For example, the flower outline is one stamp, the flowers are another and the leaves are a third.  When I was making this card, I tried a bunch of different color combinations for the bike.  This one seemed to work the best.

Then I needed to work on the background.  I tried it with just plain cardstock but it looked too boring.  Then I tried using an Embossing Folder but it didn’t quite look right so I decided to use the Embossing Paste with the brick Decorative Mask.  I like how that turned out much better.

The sentiment is from Eastern Beauty.

Now let’s go see how Buffy and Jackie did with this color combination.
