Very Versailles

Very Versailles is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  Honestly, it is not a stamp set I would normally purchase because it is very vintage and we all know how badly I do vintage.  Buffy always inspires me to try to make them and they usually end up in the garbage can before I am finished.  Some of them actually made me laugh because they were two bad.  In any case, this stamp set kept catching my eye.  I love the branch and the sentiments are very nice with a very elegant font.

The Very Versailles stamp set makes it easy to create a CAS (clean and simple) vintage card.  The colors I used are Smoky Slate, Old Olive and Whisper White.  I first inked the words in Smoky Slate ink, stamped it off onto a piece of scrap paper and then onto my Whisper White cardstock.  I wanted it to be lighter since it was in the background.  Stamping off is a great technique to lighten up darker inks.  Then I inked the leaves in Old Olive ink and stamped it over the words.  I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink too and punched it out using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch.  I adhered that to a circle I had punched out using the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch.  They layer together perfectly.

Dear Doily

Dear Doily is a stamp set that is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Doily Builder Thinlits and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I have to say that Stampin’ Up!® has done some doily dies in the past that were hard to cut out.  I almost decided not to get these because of that reason but went ahead anyway because I thought they were so pretty.  I am so glad I did.  I have no trouble cutting them out and they truly are beautiful and fun.  There are a few different dies that cut out various doilies and there is one large die that just cuts out the inside of the doily.  I love that Stampin’ Up!®  is making so many different dies.

To make this card I first cut out the doily in Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  I saved the middle the of cut to use it on the card.  I like how it leaves just a slight line around it.  I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I adhered that to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut out using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch.  Lastly I cut out a circle using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch in Lemon Lime Twist.  I layered each of these on top of each other using a Dimensional under the Gorgeous Grape circle to pop it up a bit.  The Designer Series Paper is called Gingham Gala and is also in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

Jar Of Love Wreath

I had fun making wreaths one day a while ago.  I made another one last week using the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet.  This time I decided to use the stamp set called Jar Of Love.  I “love” that little goldfish.  It always reminds me of going to the local Firemen’s Fair where you throw ping pong balls into a jar and you win a fish.  The last time we went to that fair my youngest son, Zachary, named his fish George (HW) Bush.  You can see how long ago that was!  They don’t even have these fairs anymore.  Normally these goldfish would die in a week or two but George Bush lived for a very long time!  It was sad when he did die.  We had a little funeral, flushed and George Bush swirled away.

The colors I used for this card are Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Tempting Turquoise, and Basic Black. The little HELLO stamp is from Beautiful Bouquet.

Make A Wish

Amazing Birthday

Here is another December birthday card I made for a friend.  It is as far from being a Christmas card as one can get!  Maybe one could argue that I did use a green (Mint Macaron) but it is not really a Christmas green so I still think I am safe.

For this card I used the stamp set called Amazing Birthday.  It is a stamp set that is in the Annual Catalog.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock and the lower piece of Watermelon Wonder using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  Then I cut little strips of the other cardstock and put it in-between the embossed stripes.

Wild Flowers & A Sneak Peek

Wild About Flowers, A Little Something

The Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is coming out on September 1st so I decided to give you a little sneak peek of one of the stamps in that catalog.  It is really just a small peek because it is the sentiment I used on this card.  The stamp set is called A Little Something and it goes with a new Thinlit used to make a 3D project.  You will have to wait to see what it is but I know you will love it and use it a lot (especially around the holidays).  Anyway, the stamp set has five different sentiments and 4 different objects in it.  You can see the picture of it below.  It is very cute!

The flowers are from the stamp set called Wild About Flowers.  That is set available now because it is in the Annual Catalog.

A Soft Butterfly

Butterfly Basics, Butterfly Thinlits

I saw this color scheme (Sahara Sand and Crisp Cantaloupe) in a ton of cards on Pinterest and I really liked it  It seems soft and they go so well together that I had to make a card using them.  This card features the a butterfly cut from the Butterfly Thinlits (don’t forget to use a unscented dryer sheet when cutting this out).  The Designer Series Paper in is the 2015 Occasions Catalog and is called Something Borrowed.  Honestly, I don’t know why it is called that.  I guess it could be used for a wedding but it certainly doesn’t have to be.

The sentiment is from a new Photopolymer Stamp Set that is not in any catalog.  It is called Lovely Amazing You.  There are quite a few stamp sets that aren’t included in catalogs.  There is a link at the top of my blog where you can see all the different sets.
