More Fun With Masks

Today is my eldest son, David’s birthday.  David is an amazing young man.  He bright and handsome and one of the most generous people I know.  He will do anything for anyone.  He is a police officer and  I am so proud of him.

This is another card we made at our monthly stamp club.  We used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and the Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  This paste has so much sparkle yet it is subtle and so pretty when it hits the lights.

To make this card I first adhered a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock to my Silicone Craft sheet using Washi Tape.  I then layered the brick wall Mask over the top of the cardstock and adhered that down with some Washi Tape too.  I mixed a drop or two of Coastal Cabana Ink with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and stirred it using a Palette Knife.  Then you just spread it over the Mask.  After it dries, which does not take a very long time, I cut it down to 3 3/4″ x 5″.  That way if you missed any Embossing Paste along the edges it is ok because you cut them off anyway.

Here is another picture showing the sparkle a little better.

I cut the two balloons out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  I had to adhere the balloons with Multipurpose Glue because Snail would not stick on the Embossing Paste.  I cut the sentiment out using the Celebrate You dies (which are retiring at the end of this current catalog) with Gorgeous Grape yardsticks and then added the Silver and Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Happy birthday, David!

Happy Birthday, Gorgeous

I have to say, August is definitely the best month to have a birthday in.  Of course, my birthday is in August but so many of my friends also have birthdays this month.  As you know, we have a cottage and I found out that there are birthdays on the 20th, 23rd (mine), 24th and 25th all within 2 or 3 cottages from ours.  My New Hampshire daughter has an August birthday too, as well as my brother in law, Bill, my other brother in law, Peter, my father in law and a couple of friends.  Needless to say, I needed to make a lot of birthday cards!  I also received a lot of birthday cards which I will show you in the  next couple of days.

I made this card using the stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  The balloons in this set match the Balloon Bouquet Punch which makes it so easy to stamp and punch out.  I added a few sequins from the Mini Sequin Trim in Silver to add a little sparkle to the card.  The colors I used are Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Flirty Flamingo.

Happy Birthday everyone!

Happy Birthday

Stampin’ Up! has a new die in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog that I just love.  It  is called Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.  It is a big die (3.5″ x 3″) and we all know how much I love big dies!  It has a matching stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

This is one of the cards we made last night at our monthly stamp club meeting.  The balloon is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and it coordinates with Ballon Bouquet Punch.  This set also coordinates with the Classic Label Punch (although I didn’t use it for this card).  The Designer Series Paper is called Pick A Pattern.

Last week we went on vacation with Madelyn and her family.  My 92 year old mother lives nearby so she got to visit with all of us too.  We all went out for lunch one day.  Madelyn loved her Great Grandma!

An In Color Stamp Off Challenge

Good morning everyone.  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time we have an InColor Challenge.  We can use at least two InColors for our creations.

I needed to make a masculine birthday card so I did not have a lot of choice in the colors I used so I decided to go with Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy.  I thought it needed a little pop of color so I used a small piece of Lemon Lime Twist.

I used the stamp set called Super Duper.  This is a great set because it has big sentiments (I love big sentiments).  I stamped it three times (once on Whisper White cardstock, once on Dapper Denim and once on Lemon Lime Twist) and then cut out all the pieces and put them back together.  The Designer Series Paper is new and called Pick A Pattern.

Don’t forget today and tomorrow are the last days I am offering FREE Shipping on all orders over $50 as a way of saying thank you to all of my customers!  You can place an order online using the Hostess Code PJ6PNF26 and I will rebate you your shipping costs by PayPal or check.  You have to order before 6:00 PM EST tomorrow to get this fabulous deal and you have to use the Hostess Code in order to qualify.  This offer does not include expedited shipping.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made.

Happy Green St. Patrick’s Day Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

Today’s Stamp Off Challenge was a challenge for me.  I don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and I don’t even have any stamp sets that could be used.  Luckily the challenge also said “green” so I went with that.  Whew!  It might have been another rebel day! I

so-st-pat-or-green

Here is my card.

Balloon Adevntures, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

As you can tell, I went with the green theme.  I was trying to figure out how to make a totally green card but none of the greens go well with each other (in my opinion) so I added some Tempting Turquoise.  I used the stamp set called Balloon Adventures.  As you can tell, it is really my favorite set from the Occasions Catalog.  Well, today it is anyway.  I love so much from that catalog it is hard to pick a favorite.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy have made for the green St. Patrick’s Day challenge.

Balloon Adventures Stamp Off Anniversary

Stamp Off Logo Clean

First of all, I need to say Happy Anniversary to Buffy and Jackie.  We have been doing our Stamp Off Challenges for a year now!  Time sure flies!  When we first started this, it was supposed to be a every once in a while thing.  That lasted, well, one week.  We decided to do it every Friday until one of us didn’t want to anymore.  Here we are, a year later and still going strong.  I am so proud to be partners with these two very talented ladies.  I am so thankful they are easy going and don’t mind when I cheat a bit.  Let’s face it.  I am the biggest cheater (rebel) of them all and they have not “yelled” at me once.  As far as I know, they haven’t even gotten mad at me (of course, they haven’t seen this week’s challenge yet!). The only issue I have with them is there are really bad enablers!  I seem to want to buy everything they create with!  This is why I love these ladies.  They are talented, sweet and patient with someone who doesn’t always follow the rules.  How amazing is that?!?    OK.  Enough of the mushy stuff!

This week our Stamp Off Challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  You are supposed to (note the words “supposed to”) draw a straight line across, down or diagonally on the Tic Tac Toe Board and make a card using these items.

january-27

Don’t look too closely because I did a bent line instead of a straight one.  I wanted to make a masculine card with balloons but I didn’t really have any birthday Washi Tape so I used In Colors instead.

Balloon Adventures, masculine birthday card, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Masculine birthday cards are one of the hardest to make (for me).  You can’t really add ribbon or sparkles and you certainly can’t use flower stamps.  My sons would roll their eye balls if they saw things like that on their cards.

You can use balloons!  Everyone loves balloons.  Stampin’ Up! has a new catalog out called the Occasions Catalog, and there are some awesome balloon stamps and dies.  The stamps are called Balloon Adventures.  It has a lot of great sentiments, as well as balloons, strings, confetti and banners.  I didn’t use the dies on this card (the are called Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies) but if you buy both the stamps and the dies you can save 10%.  The stamps also go with the Balloon Bouquet Punch (which I did use).

The Designer Series Paper is called Party Animal.  It is also in the Occasions Catalog and was made to go with this suite of products.

Now go check out Jackie’s and Buffy’s creations.  I am sure they followed the rules, although I am not to sure about Buffy anymore.  She has been a rebel lately!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Baby Bear

Baby Bear, Stampin Up

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting earlier in the summer.  I don’t know why I didn’t post it previous to this but I guess it doesn’t really matter.  This stamp set is called Baby Bear and is in the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  It is a 3-step stamp set which is why the bear looks so life like.  First you stamp the background color in the lightest color.  We used Crumb Cake.  Then you stamp over that with the 2nd stamp in the series (we used Soft Suede) and last of all, you stamp the third color over it all (we used Early Espresso).  It really give it a nice 3D look and it is very easy to line up.

I am saving this card to send to Madelyn.  It is a perfect card for a sweet, little girl.  Here is a picture of her in pigtails.  She is growing up way too fast!

Balloon Celebration

Balloon Celebration

Today is the birthday of a friend of mine, Char.  Char and I have been friends for a long time and have a lot of good memories together.  We met because she was looking for someone to take care of her children and I was looking for a way to stay home with mine and make a bit of money.  It was a perfect match.  Even though her youngest child is now 32, we have remained friends all this time.

As I am writing this post I just realized that I used retired Designer Series Paper to make this card.  Sometimes I forget what has retired and what has not.  I decided to post it anyway because you could just substitute another Designer Series Paper to make this card.

It uses a stamp set called Balloon Celebrations and of course, has a matching balloon punch called Balloon Bouquet.  As you know, I love balloons and I love punches so it was a perfect set for me!  The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  That is one of the awesome things about Paper Pumpkin.  The kit may be used up but you will always have the stamps to use!

Happy Birthday, Char.  I hope your day is amazing!
