Geared Up Garage

I haven’t posted a card using the Geared Up Garage in a while so I thought I would get it out again.  I just love those little gears.  I have no idea why.  I’m certainly not a mechanic and neither is Rob but I just think they are so cute.  I first saw them at OnStage in November and I knew they would be the first thing I would get.  Maybe it is because it is so hard to make a masculine card and this set is perfect for that.

To make this card I first cut out the gears using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies out of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  I stamped the tool box in Gray Granite and cut it out using the same set of dies.  Then I ran a piece of Gray Granite cardstock through my Big Shot using the Hexagons Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock and used the Banner Triple Punch to cut out the end.  I did the same thing with a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Humming Along which is also in the 2019 Occasions catalog.  I just realized, as I am going through all my paper and can’t find it that the Designer Series Paper is from a pack in the 2018 Holiday Catalog and therefore, is now retired.  Oops.  Sorry about that!

Geared Up Garage and the matching Garage Gears Thinlits Dies are perfect for Father’s Day, birthdays and thank you cards.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

Snowflake Sentiments

Often times when I am talking to people about making their own Christmas cards I am told they just don’t have time to make them.  Here is a quick and easy card you can make in no time at all.  The best part is it uses scraps of leftover Designer Series Paper that I know you have hanging around!

The sentiment on this card is from the stamp set called Snowflake Sentiments.  It has some beautiful saying with lovely fonts.  The Designer Series Paper is from the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog and is called Be Merry.

Last week Rob and I went to Alabama to visit my grand daughter, Emory Jade.  They are calling her Emy Jade now, which I think is adorable.  Anyway, I can’t believe how big she has gotten since I saw her two months ago.  She is such a cutie.  Here is a picture of her with her Dad and my son, Zachary.  We were at a food truck show which was tons of fun. Too bad, Emy Jade is not old enough to eat the great food they had.

So now you have no excuse when it comes to making your own Christmas cards.  I am sure your family and friends will love them!

Wednesday Watercooler Challenge WWC47

It is another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!  This time our challenge was given to us by Marsha.  She chose a color challenge.

WWC47

Here is my project.

Gift Bag Punch Board, Festive Flower Builder Punch

Although, they are not Stampin’ Up! colors in this challenge, some of the color were still similar.  I chose to use Pool Party, Island Indigo, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.  My colors are a little lighter than the colors in the picture but I think they go well together.  I also decided to make a 3D item for this challenge and used the Gift Bag Punch Board and the Festive Flower Builder Punch.

Here is a picture with the belly band taken off.  Do you notice the flap on the bag?  If you would like to see how to make this variation using the Gift Bag Punch Board, then click HERE.

Birthday Celebration

Celebrate Today

This is a stamp set that was originally in the 2015 Occasions Catalog and got carried over into the Annual Catalog.  I am always happy to see sets that have matching Framelits (called Balloon Framelits Dies) get carried over because the less I have to cut things out by hand, the happier I am.  What is even better is if you buy the stamp set and the Framelits together you can save 15%!  Who doesn’t like to save money??

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Cherry On Top.  I used the 2 1/2″ and the 1 1/4″ Circle Punches as well and the Banner Triple Punch.

Watercooler Wednesday WWC33

Today’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is brought to you by Bev.  Bev gave us a photo to use as inspiration.  Here is the photo:

Bev Inspiration photo 2

As you can see, there is a lot of purple in this photo.  If you search through my blog you might notice that I don’t use a lot of purple.  I once worked for someone who was not the nicest person and she wore purple all the time.  In any case, these colors did match a lot of the colors that Stampin’ Up offers.  I saw Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Rose Red and Pink Pirouette in this photo so I decided to use those colors.

DSC02874

First I stamped all the leaves in Versamark, sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over the leaves and heat embossed them.  Then I sponged Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Rose Red and Pink Pirouette all over the cardstock and blended them together.  I colored some Candy Dots using a silver Sharpie (this works really well if you don’t have the correct color of candy dots) and stamped the sentiment using the One Big Meaning stamp set.

Now it is your turn to make a card using this photo inspiration!  Link it to our Watercooler Wednesday web site (HERE) to enter it and see if you can be chosen to be the next Watercooler  Wednesday Challenge Winner!

The Open Sea

The Open Sea

This is another thank you card I made for my birthday.  I love the stamp set called The Open Sea because it is great for making masculine cards.  This set appeared in one of the Occasions Catalogs a few years ago.  When it was not carried over into the Annual Catalog, a lot of people were upset.  They (we) were so upset, we all did a write in campaign to Stampin’ Up! to bring it back.  They must have gotten so many letters and emails that they decided to put it in the next annual catalog.  That doesn’t happen very often so it much have been overwhelming.  Personally, I hope they never retire it because it really is a great set to use.

Thanks! You Made My Day.

Groovy Love

Here is another card I made in order to thank some people for my birthday surprises.  It is one of those cards that has very little stamping on it and was quick and easy to put together.  I just punched some hearts out of Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper with the Sweetheart Punch and arranged them on some cardstock.  The sentiment it from A Dozen Thoughts.

Madelyn turned four months last week while I was in Dublin, Ireland so I am a little late in posting her picture.  She is growing up way too fast, as all children tend to do!

Watercooler Challenge WCC30

Banner1

mau-logo-3d

It is that time again for another Watercooler Challenge.  This time, I was one who picked the challenge.  It is to make a 3D project.

As most of you know, my first granddaughter, Madelyn, was born in April.  Someone gave her the cutest age blocks made out of wood that are used to take pictures of birthday milestones.  I decided to make one of these out of cardstock.Baby CalendarThe right blocks have a Y for year, M for Month and D for days.  The left blocks are numbers.  I must admit I only went up to 6 on these blocks because what children is going to let you take their picture at the age of 6 with these blocks!  I used the Gift Box Punch Board to make the boxes.  They are 2.5″ x 2.5″ square.

Masculine Birthday Card

Guy Greetings, World Map

The stamp set called Guy Greetings is a great set to use for a masculine card.  I guess that is why they named it Guy Greetings!  It is a big set too.  It has 22 stamps in it!  A lot of them are sentiment stamps too, which is always needed.

I stamped the background stamp called World Map in Night of Navy and then used Cherry Cobbler for the rest.  The background is Marina Mist.  It was pretty easy to cut out the shoes since they have a smooth edge (you know I am not a fan of fussy cutting).  The banners were made using the Banner Triple Punch which makes it so easy!  I love that punch!

Celebrate With Zoo Babies

Zoo Babies, Banner Triple Punch

Last weekend I got to spend it with Madelyn.  I hadn’t seen her for a few weeks and it amazed me how much she has grown already!  The nice thing about this weekend was both Great Grandmothers got to meet her for the first time!  We took a punch of cute pictures (one of which is below).

I made this card using the stamp set called Zoo Babies.  It is such a cute set.  Of course, I bought it for Madelyn when she get old enough to stamp with me.  I figure she will be ready in about six months or so.  The background is a new Background stamp called It’s Wild.  Have you looked at all the new background stamps that are offered by Stampin’ Up! yet?  There are some awesome ones!

Here is Madelyn with my mother.  She is 90 years old and has more energy than me!
