Another Mystery Parts Card Challenge

Once again my friends, who also happen to be my Stampin’ Up!® downline got together to do another Mystery Parts Challenge.  This is where one of us send the others card parts and we have to make a card using them.  We have to use all of the parts they send but we can also add our own.  It is such fun!

Here are the Mystery Parts that Karin sent us.

Karin sent us a  piece of Basic White card stock for the card base.  Then she added a piece of Basic Black card stock, a piece of Designer Series Paper that was a Sale-a-bration offering, some Daffodil Delight twine and some white enamel dots.

Here is the card I made using these parts.

Stamping Up Biggest Wish

I could not decide which side of the of the Designer Series Paper I wanted to use so I decided to use both side.  I cut the 4″ x 5.25″ piece diagonally and then each of those pieces diagonally again.  Then I layered them on the Basic White card base.  I punched out the daisy using the Daisy Punch twice and layered them together by putting a bit of Multipurpose Glue in the center.  That way I could curl up the petals a bit.  I punched a small circle out of the Basic Black card stock that she included.  Next I stamped the sentiment from a new stamp set called Biggest Wish onto a piece of Basic White card stock using Just Jade ink and cut it out using a die from Hippo & Friends.  I colored the white enamel dots using my Daffodil Delight dark Stampin Blends and made a bow using the Daffodil Delight twine.

Ornate Thanks

Stampin Up Ornate Thanks

Here is a quick and easy card to make when you don’t have a lot of time but need to or want to send a card to someone.  I have been sending a lot of cards in the mail just to let people know I am thinking of them or thanking them for various things they have done.  People appreciate being thanked and sending cards is a great way to let people know you care.

To make this card I first stamped two daisies from the stamp set Daisy Lane in Bumblebee ink and then punched them out using the Daisy Punch.  I layered these together using a Stampin’ Up!® Dimensional.  I ran a Whisper White card base through my embossing machine using the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder.  I cut a piece of 2020-2022 InColor Designer Series Paper in Misty Moonlight and put a strip of BumbleBee cardstock along one side before adhering it to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Ornate Thanks  in Misty Moonlight ink onto a piece of BumbleBee cardstock and punched it out using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  The entire card took less than ten minutes.

Scoring Challenge

Hello everyone.  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge by Jackie, Buffy and me.  Today’s challenge is to use our Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  You could make a 3D item or a card.  I chose to make a card.

To make this card I first took a piece of Purple Posy cardstock and cut it to 5″ x 3.75″.  Then I scored it at 1″, 1 1/8″, 1 1/4″, 1 3/8″ and 1 1/2″ so I have 5 score lines 1/8″ apart.  Then I flipped the cardstock once and did the same thing. I layered this piece on top of a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of Gorgeous Grape and onto a card base of Highland Heather.

Here is what the score lines look like up close.

I punched out two of the large daisies using the Daisy Punch and two of the smaller daisies using the Medium Daisy Punch.  Then I punched a circle in Daffodil Delight cardstock using the 1/2″ circle punch.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Daisy Lane

Daisy Lane is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It has a matching punch called Medium Daisy (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle) plus it also matches the Daisy Punch.  In addition to this, it goes well with another stamp set called Daisy Delight.  I love it when Stampin’ Up!® makes coordinating products!  Well, actually everything they make has matching coordinating products which makes it so easy to put things together.  Stampin’ Up!® has something for everyone.  If you are a beginner or an avid stamper you can find great products in their catalogs.

To make this card I first stamped two daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched them out using the Daisy Punch.  Then I took a 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the fern in a circle using Granny Apple Green Ink.  I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays and layered everything on top of each other.  It was a quick and easy card to make but makes a nice birthday card.

Daisy Lane & Birch

I love background stamps.  They add so much texture to a card.  Birch is a new background stamp that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  We have birch trees all over our neighborhood and I have memories of sending letters using birch bark to my grandparents who lived in Vermont and Florida.  I also saw a card online that used the Birch stamp for water.  It was awesome!

The colors I used for this card are Balmy Blue, So Saffron and Smoky Slate.  The easiest way to stamp with such a large stamps is to use your Stamparatus.  That way if you don’t get ink in all the right places you can just stamp it again in the exact same spot.  If you don’t have a Stamparatus (what?  that is just craziness!), then you can always turn the background stamp upside side, ink it and then lay your cardstock on top and rub.  But really.  You need to get a Stamparatus!

I stamped the flowers from the stamp set called Daisy Lane and punched from out using the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch.  The sentiment is from another new stamp set called Band Together.  I love the font in this stamp set.

Daisy Lane

This is one of the cards we made at my monthly stamp class.  I used the stamp set called Daisy Lane along with the matching Medium Daisy Punch (you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle) and the Daisy Punch.  I love it when Stampin’ Up!® makes sets that can go together.  In this case the stamp set called Daisy Delight also matches the Daisy Punch.

To make this card I first stamped the two larger daisies in Purple Posy and Highland Heather Ink and punched them out using the Daisy Punch.  Then I stamped the smaller daisy in Gorgeous Grape, punched that out using the Medium Daisy Punch and layered all the daisies together.  I cut a piece of Whisper White and Crushed Curry cardstock using the Stitched Nested Dies and adhered them together.  Then I cut the top off of them.  If you adhere them before cutting them, you don’t have to worry about lining them up afterwards.  I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and adhered the daisies underneath it.  The Designer Series Paper I used for the background is called Mosaic Mood.

The last part of the card was to dye the White Baker’s Twine.  I cut a piece of it and put it in a plastic zip top bag.  I added about 3 drops of Gorgeous Grape ink and squished it around until the ink covered the string.  I didn’t want it a solid color because I kind of liked the ombre look to it.  This way you can make Baker’s Twine in any of the Stampin’ Up!® colors!  Here is a small hint:  It takes a bit to dry so don’t pick it out with your fingers (ask me how I know this).

Don’t forget it is Bonus Days.  For every $50 you spend during the month of July you earn a $5 coupon towards your August purchases.  There is no limit as to how many coupons you can earn!

Country Home and Daisies

I decided to take a break from Christmas, winter and snowflake cards for one day,  Stampin’ Up!® has so many other stamps and colors that I sometimes forget about those during this season.  This card may be a little summery for November but it is a happy card which is a good thing year round.

To make this card I first punched a flower from the Daisy Punch three times from Petal Pink cardstock.  Petal Pink is such a pretty color.  It is a little bit pink and a little bit peach.  I cut the leaves from the Flourish Thinlits Dies in Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Country Home which is in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  After I put it all together I decided to add a little sparkle to the flower.  It is the holiday season, after all (even if this was supposed to be a break), so I added some Clear Wink Of Stella on the petals.

Daisy Delight

These past couple of weeks have been a little crazy for me.  First, I flew to Savannah, GA to drive my Mom to her place in Florida.  Mom is 92.  Although she still drives (which is a little scary) driving all the way to Florida is a little too long.  Every year Rob and I drive her so it has become kind of a tradition.  We get to see Mom and my sister and brother in law, Emily & Peter (Peter actually reads my blog!)  plus we get a little warmth and sunshine.  It is nice to get out of this cold, snowy weather and see that big yellow ball in the sky which has been hiding from us since October.

After driving Mom, we were home one day and drove to see my son and his wife, Sam and Tara and my grandchildren, Madelyn and Nolan.  You all know that seeing my grandchildren is my favorite thing in the whole world.  Believe me, there will be pictures to follow soon!

I made this card using the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  It is in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The Designer Series Paper is also in the Annual Catalog and is called Color Theory.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

Daisy Delight

Last week BS & J Productions did a Stamp Off Sketch Challenge.  Sometimes we set up these challenges weeks ahead of time.  Sometimes I see the challenges and get a card in my head so I make it a long time before it is scheduled to post.  This is the case with this card.  I saw the sketch, made the card and then promptly forgot about it.  I was going through my stash today and found it.  Sometimes it is hard to get old and lose my mind!

So, again, here is the sketch challenge from last week:

Funny how my card I posted for the official challenge (HERE) looks exactly the same except for the different products!  I guess that is what a sketch challenge is all about.

This time I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This was the most popular set in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog when it first came out.  It has a matching punch called Daisy and the punch itself sold the entire 6 month supply in a week (or something like that).  It was a crazy time but no worries.  Stampin’ Up! has it back in stock.  You can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  There is also matching Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

If you purchased the Daisy Delight Bundle, the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and a pack of cardstock you would be eligible to choose a free item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

Daisy Delight

After the Annual Catalog came out on June 1st, a Stampin” Up! product made world history.  Now, I am not sure it was a big enough event to end up on CNN, although, if you pay attention to everything Stampin’ Up! you would have thought it should be.  It caused quite a ruckus in the stamping world!

Normally, a punch sells around 7,000 units in it’s lifetime.  The Daisy Punch sold over 10,000 units it’s first month!  That is a lot of punches!  The good news, is the Daisy Punch is back in stock with lots to go around so if you missed it in the beginning, order it now.  Don’t forget to order the matching stamp set called Daisy Delight.  If you order both in a Bundle, you will save 10%.

I made this card using the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy Punch.  The background is an Embossing Folder called Polka Dots Basics.  The colors are Pool Party, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay.  It is one of my many favorite colors combinations.
