Accordion Fun Fold

Stampin Up Dainty Flowers

This is another fun fold card I learned how to make in the class I took last month.  It is called a Fun Fold Accoridan card designed by another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Sharon Armstrong.  This is what the card looks like opened up:

Stampin Up Dainty Delight

Isn’t that fun?!

Below is a list of card stock and Designer Series Paper with the measurements you will need to make this card:

  •  An A2 card base folded in portrait  4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ ( I used Blushing Bride)
  • Same Colored Cardstock as your base (I used Blushing Bride):
    a. 1″ x 11″
    b. 1 ½” x 3”
    c. 4 1/4″ x 11”
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP) (I used Dainty Flowers):
  • a. 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • b. 2 1/4″ X 4″
  • c. 2 1/4″ X 4″
  • d. 1 1/4″ X 4″
  • e. 1 1/4″ X 4″
  • f.  3″ x 4″
  • g. an extra piece of DSP to use for the sentiment on the belly bandFirst, adhere the piece 4” x 5 ¼” DSP to the front of your card base. Then take the colored cardstock that measures 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 3″, 5 1/2″, 8″, and 9 1/2″. Fold back and forth to create an accordion fold. Use a Bone Folder to give good creases.  Adhere the 3″ x 4″ piece of DSP to the last panel. Then, adhere all other DSP pieces to the 4 ¼” x 11” accordion card with adhesive.

Adhere your accordion piece to the center of the front of the card. I used Tear & Tape for this because it holds well.  You can also use Multipurpose glue.

Take the 1” x 11” cardstock and wrap it around the entire card creating a belly band with the seam in the front and tape it together. I used Tear & Tape for this too.

Punch out a section of your DSP for the sentiment.  I used the Everyday Label Punch. Stamp sentiment on it from the Dainty Delight stamp set and adhere it to the belly band.

That is it.  It looks a lot more complicated than it really is.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Many Medallions

Stampin Up Many Medallions

I needed to make a wedding card for someone and I found out their colors were very similar to some Stampin’ Up! colors so I decided to use them for the card.  I wished I had saved the photo of their wedding but now I can’t find it but just know they were Calpyso Coral, Petal Pink with a touch of Coastal Cabana.

To make this card I first cut out two pieces using the Many Medallions die set.  The first one was in Petal Pink and the second one in Coastal Cabana.  I adhered the Petal Pink one to a Calypso Coral card base and then glued the tiny pieces of Coastal Cabana in the slots.  First a disclaimer.  Do not try this at home.  Although I love how it turned out, it took a very, very long time to glue all those tiny pieces inside the medallion.  They are all not the same size which made it a bit harder.  My suggestion is to cut a piece of cardstock (I used Coastal Cabana) and adhere the large Petal Pink die cut over the top.  Luckily it was done on a rainy day so I had lots of time.

I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Moments using Coastal Cabana ink and cut it out using a Stitched Nested Labels Die.  Then I punched out a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Everyday Label Die and adhered them together.

I did get a lovely thank you card from the happy couple who said they loved the card so all that work was definitely worth it.

Friend Like You

Friend Like You is a fun stamp set that is in the 2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It has matching dies called Friendly Silhouettes and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I think it is a fun bundle because it has palm trees, dragonflies and a great font with happy sentiments.  Some of the stamps are two step stamps.  This means it takes two or more stamps to make an image.

The colors I used on this card are Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana.  I think these colors look great together because they are bright and cheery.  I first stamped the grass in Granny Apple Green and then the flowers in Mango Melody in the middle of a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then I randomly stamped the dragonflies in Coastal Cabana ink.  I placed a piece of Mango Melody checked Designer Series Paper from the 6″ x 6″ Brights pack and then added the strip from the opposite side along the top.  I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green and then cut out each side using the Everyday Label punch as below:

I haven’t posted pictures of my grandchildren lately so I thought it was about time.  I have been visiting them so you will see a bunch of them in the future.  Here is sweet Olivia.  I can’t believe how much she has changed in the last three months.  She smiles a lot now and squeals like a Pterodactyl (all my grands did.  We must have dinosaur in our blood).

Happiness Blooms Memories & More

Although I am not a scrapbooker, I still use the Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More card packs to make cards.  I wanted to show my club members how quick and easy it is to use them and still make a cute card anyone would want to receive in the mail.  These are the two cards we made at our monthly club meeting.

Stampin’ Up!® has a set of these Memories & More card packs in the 2019 Occasions catalog called Happiness Blooms.  They coordinate with the stamp set called Bloom By Bloom, the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. the Calypso Coral 3/7″ Satin Ribbon (which is gorgeous in person), the punches and the embellishments in this suite.  They also have a set of matching cards & envelopes you can purchase that are really nice.  They look like this:

The  cards & envelopes are White and Night Of Navy and come in two sizes.  The small note cards are 3″ x 4″ and the larger ones are 4″ x 6″.  There are ten of each size in the pack plus ten  envelopes to match.

The sentiments are from a Sale-a-bration stamp set called Part Of my Story.  You can get this stamp set for free with a qualifying order.  Other products we used to make this card are 1 1/2″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Everyday Label Punch, Bitty Blooms Punch Pack, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots and 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove.

I love Designer Series Paper (for the rest of this post I will call it DSP because it is just too long to type out!).  It is the best way to make a quick and easy card that looks great too!  To make this card, I just cut two pieces of DSP from the Best Route pack, adhered it to a piece of Mango Melody cardstock and adhered that to a 8.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock folded in half.  Then I just stamped the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and cut it out using the Everyday Label Punch.  I think this would make a great masculine card the way it is or you can add a flowers or some sequins to make it more feminine.

These are the DSP paper packs that are eligible for this Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotion.

I was going to tell you which are my favorites, but honestly I love them all.  This sale ends tomorrow so don’t miss out!

Painted Harvest

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  This card uses a few new products that are in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  Do you have a copy of this catalog yet?  If not you can pick one up for free from me!

The first set we used is called Painted Harvest.  This set has a matching punch called Leaf Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I didn’t use the leaf punch for this card but you definitely should get it.  There have been so many times I wish we had a leaf punch and now we do!

The second new stamp set we used is called Labels to Love.  This set also matches a brand new punch called Everyday Label Punch.  Although this punch matches the stamp set there is no Bundle for it BUT the Everyday Label Punch matches a different stamp set in the catalog called Merry Little Labels.  If you buy those in a Bundle you can save 10%. I think it is great that there are two stamp sets to match one punch.  It makes the punch that much more versatile!
