Fun Fold Club Cards

Beautiful Bunch, Fun Fold

Here is the third card we made at our monthly club meeting.  It is a fun fold card using Designer Series Paper (for those that hoard!).  Here is the inside of the card:

Beautiful Bunch, Fun Fold

It is quite easy to make and a nice surprise for the recipient.  You use a 5.5″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper and score it at 2″, 4″, 8″ and 10″.  Then you measure down 1 3/4″ on each side and mark it with a pencil.  Then cut from the 4″ score mark to the pencil mark on one side and from the 8″ score mark to the other pencil mark on the other side and fold at the score lines as shown in the photo above.

We decorated the card using the Beautiful Bunch stamp set with the matching punch called Fun Flower.  You can buy the stamps and punch in a bundle and save 15%.  I added a little Clear Wink of Stella to the outside edges of the flowers (even though you can’t really see it in the picture).  The hardest part was remembering to only put the adhesive  on one side of the flower so the card will open correctly.

If any of my readers are local and are interested in joining our Monthly Club meeting, just send me an email and I will tell you all about it.  It is a great group and we have lots of fun!

Something Borrowed

Something Borrowed, Beautiful Bunch, Everything Eleanor

Fourteen and a half years ago, we built the house we are living in.  I love our house.  When we bought it, someone had half finished it.  They had constructed all the outside walls but it was all 2 x 4’s on the inside.  Although it was stressful, as building always is, it was a lot of fun.  There is a downside to this though.  When you build a house, you buy all new appliances at the same time.  Well guess what?  All those new appliances start to break down at the same time!  In the past year we have had to replace the dryer and the washer.  Our dishwasher is on it’s last legs (we actually have to almost wash the dishes before using it).

Today, our new dryer, wasn’t working properly so we called the repairman.  Thankfully it is still covered under warranty.  He figured out what was wrong, and of course has to order parts.  As he was walking out the door, he jumped about a foot off the ground and said “did you hear that?”.  “What?” I replied.  “Your refrigerator made an awful noise.  That means the compressor is going to go out any day now.  I would be shopping for new refrigerators if I were you!”  Sigh.

Anyway, I made this card using the Designer Series Paper called Something Borrowed.  It is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  I love it because every design uses Sahara Sand.  Sahara Sand goes with EVERYTHING!  In this case, I used it with Blushing Bride.

Wish me luck with refrigerator shopping!

Kinda Eclectic Birthday Card

Kinda Eclectic

I have a few friends who have birthdays in late November or December.  One thing they all have in common.  They do not like their birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper and they don’t like Christmas themed birthday cards.  I can’t really blame them.  If their birthday was in April or June, they would not have their presents wrapped with Christmas wrap.  Well, maybe they wouldn’t.  I do remember wrapping my son David’s birthday present in Christmas wrapping paper but in my defense it was a double sided paper with a plaid on one side and Christmas trees on the other.  I did use the plaid.

I made this card using Kinda Eclectic, Beautiful Bunch and Hey You stamp sets.  All three of them are in the annual catalog so no worries about using Christmas themed stamps!

A Big Beautiful Bunch

Beautiful Bunch

I know it is not summer.  It is not even close to being Spring but I think you can use flowers year round.  I used the stamp set called Beautiful Bunch to make this card.  It has a matching punch called Fun Flower so you don’t need to cut it out by hand (because we all know how much I love doing that!).  I think I must have failed cutting in Kindergarten because I am just not very good at it.  No worries though!  Stampin’ Up! makes so many matching punches, Framelits and Thinlits that there is no need to hand cut anything!  Perfect!

A Beautiful Bunch Sunflower

Beautiful Bunch, Hey You

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses a new stamp set called Beautiful Bunch which has a matching punch called Fun Flower.  We stamped the flower using Hello Honey ink on Hello Honey cardstock.  The leaves were stamped with Old Olive and then cut out to look like leaves instead of flower petals.  The Whisper White background was made using the Party Pennants Bigz L Die.  This die has two shapes that look like this, one being smaller than this one.  It also has two rounded edge shapes.  You can use it to make a banner too!
