I think I am in denial about winter. I know I can’t really call winter in Tennessee “winter” compared to what I lived in for the last 42 years but it is my winter now. In Northern New York I would get weather alerts whenever a big snow storm or high winds were expected. For some reason I am still getting these alerts (I can’t remember my password to turn them off) so I know when New York may be expecting 10 inches of snow. In Tennessee it is 50 degrees. Even though we don’t get the really, super cold weather here or the big snow storms, we have brown, dead grass and no flowers. I think this is why I need to still make cards using my flower sets. Flowers make me happy (Jackie of BS & J thinks I am crazy for loving all the flower sets. She is probably right!!). On a side note, my cactus also loves Tennessee weather. It bloomed in October and I looked this morning and there are two new blooms. It has never done that! Maybe it knows I miss flowers.
In any case, I made this card using the stamp set called Basket of Blooms. This stamp set is in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This stamp set coordinates with the Small Bloom Punch.
I first stamped the flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink and then colored them using the Light Highland Heather Stampin Blend. Then I punched them out using the Small Bloom Punch. I stamped the flower pot in Misty Moonlight ink and colored that using the Light and Dark Misty Moonlight Blends. I masked the pot by stamping it on a Post-it- Note, cutting it out and placing it over the flower pot on my card. This lets you stamp the leaves without getting ink on the pot. I then stamped the leaves in Just Jade ink and once again, colored them using the Light Just Jade Blend. I adhered the flowers using Stampin Dimensionals and added the Playing With Patterns Resin Dots in the middle of the flowers.
The sentiment is from the stamp set called Beautiful Autumn. I use this sentiment a lot and I am sad the set is retiring on January 4th. Beautiful Autumn has coordinating punches called Autumn Punch Pack and they are retiring too. You can still purchase the stamp set and the punch pack in a Bundle but only while supplies last. After January 3rd, they will be gone forever. I have made a lot of cards using this Bundle and if you would like to see them, click on the Categories button to the right and click on Beautiful Autumn.
The Designer Series Paper is called Flowers For Every Season and is also in the Annual Catalog.
