Love You To Pieces

Love you To Pieces is one of the stamp sets that is carrying over into the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  This stamp set has matching dies called Puzzle Pieces.  If you order this bundle before June 4th you can save 10%.  When the new catalog becomes available on June 4th, the bundle price goes away.

The thing I love about this set is you can do so much with it.  You can print out a photograph or picture of anything and cut it into puzzle pieces to send to someone to put together.  My grandchildren love doing this.

To make this card I first cut out the puzzle pieces in Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock.  Then I adhered them onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock, alternating the colors.  When you do this, it gives you two cards to make.  Then I stamped the puzzle piece with the sentiment using Pacific Point ink and cut that out using the matching die.  I stamped the other sentiment and punched it out using the 2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to a piece of Pacific Point cardstock that I punched out using the Starburst Punch.  I layered all of these pieces onto Granny Apple Green cardstock.

Quick & Easy Cards Using Designer Series Paper

Good morning everyone.  I was going some craft room organizing and cleaning last weekend.  I started to go through my stash of Designer Series Paper and realized that I am a hoarder.  This paper is gorgeous and it just sits on the shelf.  Whenever I go to use it I think to myself that I better save it for classes and club meetings.  When I prep for events with a lot of people I like to be able to use all the same supplies.  Therefore, that poor paper just sits there.  Why is it so hard to cut into it?

Secondly, one of the most frequent excuses I hear about why someone doesn’t want to join as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, join a club or just begin stamping in general is lack of time.  “I don’t have time for crafts”  or “I am too busy” or “it takes too long to make a card that is nice enough to send to someone”.

I have decided to spend this week showing you cards using your Designer Series Paper and at the same time, be quick and easy to make.

Here is the first example of a quick and easy card that uses your Designer Series Paper (or in this card the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack).  All I had to do is adhere the paper to cardstock, stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and punch it out.  Then I punched the starburst out of Calypso Coral cardstock using the Starburst Punch and adhered it all to the card.  The whole card took less than five minutes to make.  The sentiment is from the Meant To Be stamp set which is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

The colors I used on this card are Call Me Clover, Whisper White and Calypso Coral.

Stop back every day this week to see another quick and easy card that uses Designer Series Paper  Series Paper and takes less than five minutes to make.

Making Christmas Bright

Making Christmas Bright is a new stamp set that is in the 2018 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog.  It is a cute stamp set that has a matching punch called Christmas Bulb Builder Punch.  If you buy them both in a Bundle you can save 10%.  Plus, there is another stamp set in the Holiday Catalog that fits the punch.  It is called Making Every Day Bright and is on page 47.  If you buy the punch you have to have this set too.  It has penguins, bunny, balloons, feathers and more that can be cut out using the Christmas Bulb Builder punch too.

I used my Stamparatus to make the background of this card.  I put the bulb ribbon stamp on it and raised and lowered the plates to make the lines.  You could do this by hand but the Stamparatus makes it so much easier and has much more accurate spacing.  Then I colored all the little bulbs using my Stampin’  Write Makers in Blueberry Bliss, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch.  I cut the sentiment out with the Starburst Punch and layered it over a piece of Blueberry Bliss cardstock cut out using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.  I hand cut out the banner.

Dandelion Wishes

Dandelion Wishes is another new stamp set that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It has these cute little dandelions that look like they are being blown in the wind.

When I was a kid my father would make me spend hours pulling dandelions out of the lawn.  Back then I think it was considered a sin to have them growing in your yard. I think people would drive by a lawn that had one dandelion in it and everyone would gasp with horror!

When Rob and I bought our first house I also spent hours pulling dandelions out of the lawn. I bought this awesome tool that would pull them out by the root when standing up. I was obsessed with it.  I wouldn’t even let my kids blown the dandelion seeds.  One day I looked around and noticed all our neighbor’s lawns and the park across the street were covered in dandelions.  There were thousands of dandelions.  There were more dandelions in their lawns then there was grass.  My father would be horrified but I realized then it was a losing proposition so I gave up and taught my kids how to blow the seeds around.  Ok.  I have to admit they could only do that in the park across the street.

I made this card using one of the sentiments from Dandelion Wishes.  I like this sentiment because it can be used as a birthday, get well, wedding or really any occasion.  I first stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then embossed it using Copper Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.  Then I cut it out using the Layering Circle Dies.  I punched out the starburst from Copper Foil Paper using the Starburst Punch and adhered the sentiment to it.  Then I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  The ribbon from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack.  Lastly I added some Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets that are in the Holiday Catalog.

Darling Label Punch Box

Stampin’ Up! has this adorable tin box that has a stamp set, punch, two Ink Cubes (Grapefruit Grove & Night Of Navy) and a thin clear block inside.  The box is gorgeous and it all looks like this:

This card was super easy to make.  I first stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink and then cut it out using the Darling Label Punch.  Then I punched out a piece of Basic Black cardstock using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.  Then I punched out  piece of Golf Foil cardstock using the Starburst Punch.  The black and gold Designer Series Paper is from Broadway Bound.  I just layered a strip of 1/4″ Basic Black cardstock over the top. I thought this would make a great masculine card or you could give it to someone with a big birthday!

Speaking of big birthdays, I don’t think I ever told you about what my lovely friends did on my 40th birthday.  We had this habit of making “memories” on each other’s birthdays.  I’ll tell you about that more later.

Rob and I decided to go to a local restaurant that night.  It was just a sandwich/burger place.  All of a sudden there seemed to be a commotion going on.  The customers and staff were all laughing and carrying on.  I looked up and saw a group of people, all dressed in black robes coming towards us.  They looked like a bunch of hooded Grim Reapers with scythes and staffs.   There was this one poor elderly woman who became very afraid and one of my friends had to tell her it was just a joke.  It was quite a site!  It even startled me at first until I figured out what was going on.  It is something I will never forget!

This card would have been perfect for that birthday!

Tropical Chic

Tropical Chic is a fun new stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching Thinlits called Tropical Thinlits Dies and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Let me tell you.  You are going to want to dies that match this stamp set!  Not only do they cut the outside of the leaves, they also cut the inside!  Stampin’ Up! has really gotten innovated with their dies this year.  Plus, they have one die that cuts out a square of leaves.  It is a must have item!

I also used a new Embossing Folder on this card called Subtle.  It is a perfect name for it because it is subtle!  If you look carefully you can see it on the bottom half of my card but here is a close up picture.

It makes it look like the old Textured cardstock that Stampin’ Up! used to sell years ago.

To make this card I first stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and then cut them out using the matching Thinlits.  Then I stamped the flower and the sentiment in Coastal Cabana and cut each one out using the flower die and Layering Circles Framelits.  I punched out a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Starburst Punch.  I felt like it needed a little bit more so I cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Layering Circle Framelits too.

The Designer Series Paper is called Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper and the ribbon is the 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist.  I know it is hard to see because it is behind the leaves and circles.

Balloon Celebration Dandelion

How many of you have the stamp set called Balloon Celebration?  This set has been around for a while so I am sure there are a lot of you out there.  Did you ever notice that there were two little flowers included in this set?  You may have wondered what are for.  Well, you can make a dandelion out of them!  I do have a do a disclaimer here.  I saw a card that looked totally different than mine but used the dandelion on it so it is not my original idea.  I don’t know who came up with it but I thought it was adorable and decided to CASE (copy and share everything) it.  CASEing is ok in the stamp world.  It is even encouraged.  You just need to give credit where credit is due is you know where it came from.

The sentiment on this card is from one of the new stamp sets that you can earn for free with a qualifying order.  It is called Eclectic Expressions and became available on February 16th.  The rest of the set looks like this:

Crafting Forever Fun Fold

I know I have told you this before but there are so many great reasons for becoming a Demonstrator.  The best reason of all is going to OnStage and meeting some of my best friends there.  Deborah Smart is one of those people.  We talked on the Demo Only forum for many years before we finally got to meet at the OnStage in Orlando a few years ago.  Deborah is awesome.  She is very talented and I enjoy reading her blog every day.  I feel like I have known her forever.

A little while ago she posted a fun fold card that I loved and knew I had to make it.  You can see Deborah’s card HERE (plus if you go to her website “follow” her.  You will love her creations but I will warn you that she will make you want everything she uses!).

I used the stamp set called Crafting Forever to make this card.  I love this set.  It is such fun to color.  I used my Stampin’ Blends.

Here is what it looks like when you open the front flap.

This is what it looks like after opening the second flap.

This is a picture looking down so you can see all the flaps.  Isn’t this a fun card?

Picture Perfect Birthday

Here is a quick and easy card to make when you don’t have a lot of time.  I used the stamp set from the 2018 Occasions Catalog called Picture Perfect Birthday.  This is such a fun set with a lot of stamps that you can use to make birthday cards.

First I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock and then punched it out using a new punch called Starburst.  Then I punched out another circle using the new 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  Both of these punches are in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.

The ribbon is from the 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog and is called Shimmer Ribbon Pack.  It comes in three different colors (Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray) and you can get al three for free with a qualifying order.  It is beautiful ribbon because it has a slight shimmer to it.

The Designer Series Paper is called Delightful Daisy and is also in the Annual Catalog.

A Stamp Off Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!  Welcome to this week’s Stamp Off Challenge.  Today’s challenge is a sketch challenge.

I have to admit, I had a hard time with this sketch.  I just couldn’t figure it out at first.  Then I realized when I had been staring at it and staring at my stamps that the dark strip in the back could be Washi Tape.  Then things sort of fell into place.

As you can tell, I actually did not do any stamping on this card.  Everything is either die cut, trimmer cut or punched.  The Designer Series Paper is from the 2017 Holiday Catalog called Year Of Cheer Specialty Paper.  This paper is gorgeous.  Each sheet is either gold, silver and copper.  Then I used the Starburst Punch with Gold Foil Paper.  The “Noel” is from Christmas Stockings Thinlits.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made using this sketch.  I am sure you will love whatever it is!
