My Christmas Card

Winter Wishes

This is the Christmas card I made this year to send out to family and friends.  I used the stamp set called Winter Wishes.  It is in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Holiday  Catalog.  It was one of my favorite sets in that catalog and I am sad that Stampin’ Up! is retiring it on January 5th.  It is such a cute set.  It has a sled (as you can see!), skates, skis, pine cones and the pine branch.  I used the Hardwood background stamp on Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake Ink.  I did stamp it off once to make it a little lighter.  Stamping off is when you ink a stamp and then stamp it on a piece of scrap paper before stamping it on your cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Hostess Set that was also in the catalog called Antique Tags.  I thought it went so well with this antique looking stamp set.  The rest of the products I used are listed below but many of them are also retiring on January 5th.

I am not sure if Madelyn isn’t too sure about Santa or the outfits her parents dress her in!

Woodland Embossing Colors

Woodland

This is the first card we made at our monthly Stampin’ club meeting.  It uses a new technique that I have seen all over Pinterest.  I don’t know who came up with it first but it is a brilliant idea!  First I used a brayer to add color onto the background of an embossing folder.  I used Smoky Slate for this card.  Then I stamped other images on top of the brayered color.  In this case I used the trees from the stamp set called Happy Scenes.  Then you run a piece of cardstock in the embossing folder through the Big Shot.  The cardinal was added after running the embossing folder through.  The sentiment on this card is from the Hostess Set in the 2015 Holiday Catalog called Antique Tags.
