Daffodil Daydream

Stampin Up Daffodil Daydream

Today is the last day for Sale-a-bration where you can get products for FREE with a qualifying order.  One of the products you can get is the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper.  This paper pack is 12″ x 12″.  There are twelve sheets in the pack and they coordinate with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle that is in the Stampin’ Up!®  2022 January – June Mini Catalog.  One side of the paper has daffodils all over them and the other side has fun patterns.

I decided to use the Daffodil Afternoon DSP as a background for the gorgeous Daffodil Dies in the Mini Catalog.  I layered a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of it on a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock and then a Very Vanilla card base.  Then I started cutting out the daffodil pieces.  At first I thought the process of building the daffodils would be difficult but it was actually very easy once I figured out what pieces went with what.  I cut the backgrounds of the flowers using Bumble Bee card stock and the front using Daffodil Delight (of course).  I adhered them together using Multipurpose Glue.  Then I cut the stems and leaves in Just Jade.  I adhered them to the card using the glue and the daffodil flowers using Dimensionals.

At first I was going to stamp a sentiment and lay it across the flowers but I changed my mind and decided to use the Amazing Thanks dies.  I love how these dies layer together so that you have the word and then a background for the word.  There are four words in this set.  One is the “Thanks” that I used and the rest are “You”, “Are”, and “Amazing”.  These dies are part of the Amazing Silhouettes bundle in the Mini Catalog too.  I cut the background of the sentiment in Bumble Bee card stock and the front in Very Vanilla card stock and layered them on top of the stems using glue.

Remember, today is your last chance to get some free Sale-a-bration products.  With a $50 or $100 order you can get a choice of free stamp sets or Designer Series Paper.  There is no limit to how many products you can earn.  Tomorrow all of them will be gone for good so don’t miss out!

Stampin Up Daffodil Daydream

Yesterday was my friend, Laura’s birthday.  Laura is such a sweet person.  She is a stamper, like me, and her cards are so amazing.  She is so talented.

I made this birthday card for Laura.  I knew I had to use the sentiment from Slim Sayings on her card because she truly is one of a kind.  Laura is a simple stamper, too so I knew I didn’t want to make something too complicated.  I decided to use the bundle called Daffodil Daydream.  This bundles includes the stamp set of the same name and the Daffodil Dies.  If you purchase them in a a bundle you can save 10%.  I inked up the stamp using my Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Stampin Write Markers.  I used my Stamparatus for this.  I first colored the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink, huffed on the stamp (which basically means to breathe heavily on it to reactivate the ink and then stamped it on Basic White card stock.  I had to do this a couple of times because sometimes it is hard to see all the spots that need coloring.  That is why the Stamparatus is so perfect because you can stamp in the exact same spot over and over.  After I was happy with the leaves, I colored each of the flowers separately and stamped them in place.  Then I cut the bouquet out using the coordinating die.

I stamped the sentiment from Slim Sayings in Flirty Flamingo ink and cut out each word separately.  I adhered a piece of the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper  to a Basic White card base.  You can get this DSP for free during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order.  It is a 6″ x 6″ pack with 48 sheets of beautiful bright colors.  I added the little sliver of Flirty Flamingo card stock along the edge.  Lastly, I tied a piece of White Baker’s Twine around the stems and adhered it to the card base using Dimensionals.

Happy birthday, Laura.  I hope you had a great day and I look forward to seeing you this summer!

Stampin Up Daffodil Daydream

I have a ton of birthdays coming up in the next couple of months so you are going to see a bunch of birthday cards.  I have six birthdays in February and another five or six in March.  The good thing is there are so many great products in all the Stampin’ Up!® catalogs that I can make a ton of cards and each one would be different.

One of my favorite products out right now is the Stitched Greenery die.  It is a large background die that cuts out little designs using stitches.  I decided to use that as the background of this birthday card.  I used it with a  3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.  I layered that on top of a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Just Jade card stock and a Basic White card base.  I cut out a piece of Basic White card stock using the Tailor Made Tags Dies which are in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  I cut a little piece of 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon in Misty Moonlight and attached it to the top of the tag.

The daffodil was made using the Daffodil Dies.  This die set coordinates with the Daffodil Daydream stamp set (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle) which is in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog.  I didn’t use the stamp set on this card. Instead, the sentiment I used comes from the stamp set called Sweet As A Peach.  The colors I used for the flower were Bumble Bee, Daffodil Delight (of course!) and Just Jade for the leaves.  The dies cut out all the different layers of the flowers to make them look more realistic.  I adhered them to the tag using Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals.  Lastly I colored three Polished Dots using my Misty Moonlight Dark Stampin Blends.

I made the card above using some products from the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog and the 2022 Sale-a-bration catalog. The flowers are from a stamp set called Daffodil Daydream. This stamp set has a coordinating set of dies called Daffodil Dies and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle. If you order this bundle you will be eligible to get the coordinating Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper pack that I used for the background of my card for FREE from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. This paper is double sided with flowers on one side and patterns on the other.

To make this card, I first stamped the flowers in Memento Black Ink on Basic White card stock and colored them using Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends. Then I cut them out using the coordinating die. I layered them on a piece of the Daffodil Afternoon DSP and on a Pale Papaya card base. The sentiment is from another Sale-a-bration stamp set called Friendly Hello. I stamped that using Flirty Flamingo ink on a piece of Pale Papaya card stock and layered that on top using Dimensionals.

Lastly, I added some Matte Decorative Dots that will be, unfortunately retiring today.

I can’t have links to the products because they will not be live until tomorrow (sorry about that).
