Dandelion Wishes

Dandelion Wishes is a stamp set that is going to carry over to the new Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It is such a fun stamp set that has three sentiments in an elegant font.

Dandelions bring back memories of making a wish and blowing the seeds away with my boys.  As a child, myself, it was deeply frowned upon to do this.  My father hated dandelions.  I think they might have even been illegal to have any in your lawn where I grew up.  I spent hours digging them out.  Now they say you should let them grow because they help the bees.

To make this card I first stamped the Dandelions, the blowing seeds and the sentiment in Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I added the little hearts from Pocketful of Sunshine in Poppy Parade ink.  This stamp set is retiring on June 3rd.  Lastly I stamped the butterfly from the stamp set called Butterfly Gala in Poppy Parade ink and punched it out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.  If you order the Butterfly Gala stamp set and the Butterfly Duet Punch in a Bundle you can save 10%.  After June 3rd this discount will not be offered.

A Nice Surprise In The Mail

My birthday was at the end of August.  I got so many beautiful handmade cards.  It was awesome.  The other day, I got another surprise in the mail.  My friend and fellow Demonstrator, Deborah sent me a birthday card.  Deborah lives in Canada so it takes a long time to get mail back and forth between us.  I sent her something once that took almost 4 weeks!.

Here is the card she sent me.

Isn’t it gorgeous??  Do you see the other nice surprise that was inside the card?  Yes, Deborah also sent me a pack of Faceted Dots.  She is so sweet!

Deborah used the stamp set called Dandelion Wishes.  It is one of my favorite from the Stampin’ Up!® 2018/2019 Annual Catalog. I am not exactly sure how she made the background.  She either used a sponge or maybe a dauber.  It looks even prettier in person than in my photo.  The colors she used are Pacific Point and Highland Heather.  She also embossed the dandelions and the sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder.  It truly is beautiful!

Thank you, Deborah!

Dandelion Wishes

Last week was one of the best weeks ever!  I went to Nashville for Nolan’s first birthday so I got to spend some time with Sam, Tara, Nolan and Madelyn.  Tara’s parents were there too and we haven’t seen them in a long time.  After having a great time there I drove to Alabama to see Zachary, Mary and Emory!  In one week’s time I got to see all the grandchildren!  What could be better than that!  Of course, there will be pictures to follow!

I made this card using the stamp set called Dandelion Wishes.  This is one of the most popular stamp sets in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  First I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bliss ink and then the Dandelions in Smoky Slate.  I cut out the circle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.  The Designer Series Paper is called Best Route and is also in the Annual Catalog.  Lastly, I added the bow using some 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove.

Dandelion Wishes

Dandelion Wishes is another new stamp set that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It has these cute little dandelions that look like they are being blown in the wind.

When I was a kid my father would make me spend hours pulling dandelions out of the lawn.  Back then I think it was considered a sin to have them growing in your yard. I think people would drive by a lawn that had one dandelion in it and everyone would gasp with horror!

When Rob and I bought our first house I also spent hours pulling dandelions out of the lawn. I bought this awesome tool that would pull them out by the root when standing up. I was obsessed with it.  I wouldn’t even let my kids blown the dandelion seeds.  One day I looked around and noticed all our neighbor’s lawns and the park across the street were covered in dandelions.  There were thousands of dandelions.  There were more dandelions in their lawns then there was grass.  My father would be horrified but I realized then it was a losing proposition so I gave up and taught my kids how to blow the seeds around.  Ok.  I have to admit they could only do that in the park across the street.

I made this card using one of the sentiments from Dandelion Wishes.  I like this sentiment because it can be used as a birthday, get well, wedding or really any occasion.  I first stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then embossed it using Copper Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.  Then I cut it out using the Layering Circle Dies.  I punched out the starburst from Copper Foil Paper using the Starburst Punch and adhered the sentiment to it.  Then I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  The ribbon from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack.  Lastly I added some Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets that are in the Holiday Catalog.

A Color Challenge

Good morning everyone.  Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is a color challenge.  I have to admit I love all of these colors.  They are bright and fun and my cup of tea!

Here is my card

Used a couple of different stamp sets to make this card.  The background image is from the stamp set called Bokeh Dots.  It is a DisINKtive stamp set that Stampin’ Up! invented.  I must say that there is a trick to these kind of stamps.  You can’t really ink them up like a regular stamp.  They work better if you sponge them, use a dauber or a brayer.  I used a sponge.

The second stamp set is called Dandelion Wishes.  I think this has to be one of the most popular stamp sets out right now.  I used Basic Gray ink for the Dandelions and the sentiment.

It is hard to see in the picture but I embossed the piece of Mango Melody with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I guess that is why they call it Subtle!

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these colors.  I am sure they will be spectacular!
