Daydream Medallions

Daydream Medallions,

I made this card using a few items that are on the retirement list.  The stamp set called Daydream Medallions is one of those sets that is leaving.  This set is one of the most beautiful sets in the catalog and I will be sad to see it go.  The good thing is that the matching Framelits called Floral Frames Collection is not retiring.  This (hopefully) means that Stampin’ Up! will have another stamp set to match these Framelits.

The sentiment I used on this card is from the stamp set called Apothecary Accents.  This is another set that will be retiring at the end of May.  Lastly, Pool Party Embossing Powder is retiring too.  If you like these items, then you should order them before they are gone forever.

My Christmas Card

DSC01785

This is my Christmas card that I sent out this year.  Before I go any further, I need to apologize.  Apparently I used a retired stamp set in this card by accident.  I thought it was still on the carry over list but only the punches are still available.  The retired set is called Merry Minis (I used it to make the stars).  It is still a cute stamp set, even though it is retired.

I stamped the wreath from the stamp set called Daydream Medallions (it is still current!).  The Peace stamp is from a set that is on the carry over list called Greetings of the Season.  The embossing folder I used is from the Holiday Catalog and is called Stylish Stripes.  Remember, the last day to order from the Holiday Catalog is January 2nd.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Day Four

DSC01391

Welcome to Day Four of the Twelve Days of Christmas Series.  If you have been following this series you will see that some of the cards are very simple and some are just simple, but none of them are very complicated.  No more excuses as to why you can’t make your own Christmas Cards!

This card uses the stamp set called Daydream Medallions.  It has matching Framelits called Floral Frames.  Stamp the wreath in Gumball Green and cut it out using the framelits in your Big Shot.  Then punch out the center of the wreath with 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.  Back the center with a small piece of Gumball Green card stock.  Stamp Merry Christmas from the stamp set called Greetings of the Season.  Add red Candy Dots and put your card together.  Easy!

Quick & Easy Christmas Ornament

This can be used as an ornament on your Christmas tree or as a package tag.  It uses the stamp set called Daydream Medallions and the Framelits called Floral Frames.  The Merry Christmas came from the set called Petite Pairs.  It is a great set and can be used for almost any occasion.   All you need to do is stamp and cut using your Big Shot.  Very easy and quick!

Christmas Club Card Part 1

Last night we had our last meeting of the Christmas Card Club.  We met three times, making 12 cards each time for a total of 36 cards.  It was a great way to get your Christmas all done before Thanksgiving.

The first card we made was a CASE from Pinterest.  It uses the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set, More Merry Messages Stamp Set, the Bird Builder Punch for the cardinal and 1/4 Inch Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Real Red for the bow.  The cardinal is embossed with Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder.

Christmas Swaps

As I mentioned before I participated in a Holiday Swap with a group of very talented ladies. I showed you my swap HERE.

This is a swap I received from the very talented Diane Oliver.  Diane is from Michigan and makes really beautiful cards.  She used the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set.

This next swap is from Linda Wicks.  Linda used the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and More Merry Messages.  I love how she made the bow from hearts and a circle from the Owl Punch.  Very cute and clever!

Christmas Swap

I am honored to belong to a group of fellow demonstrators who are so talented.  We share many thoughts and ideas together.  Most are stamp related but not everything.  A member of this group organized a swap amongst the rest of us.  I don’t usually participate in swaps but these ladies are so talented that I wanted to.  My card used a variety of stamps sets.  The wreath is from Daydream Medallions.  The ornament is from Ornament Keepsakes and the saying is from Greetings of the Season.  You can’t really tell by the picture but the ornament was put on with Dimensionals so it gives it a little depth.  I embossed everything in gold with Stampin Up’s embossing powder.  Remind me to show you the difference between SU’s embossing powder and another company’s powder.  I will have to get Rob to use his fancy camera for the close up picture.  You wouldn’t think something like embossing powder would make a difference but it was amazing how much better SU’s powder came out.

August 2012 Club Meeting

Last night we had our August Club meeting.  Although it was a small group we had a lot of fun.  The first card they made used Daydream Medallions and Floral Frames Framelits.  The colors were Crumbb Cake, Primrose Petals and So Saffron.  I love this color combination.

The next card I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) from Joanne Do, a friend of mine who lives in Hawaii.  I never  even though of getting this set until I saw her card.  I did change mine just a little but the overall design is her’s.  It uses By The Seashore and Sweet Essentials stamp sets.  The colors are Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy and More Mustard.  We spondged the outside of the card using Crumb Cake.

Thanks Joanne!

The last card we made used the Perfectly Perserved stamp set and the Cannery Ser Framelits from the Holiday Mini.  We used the new Argyle Embossing Folder and the Small Oval Punch.  The colors are Real Red, Whisper White and Certainly Celery.  The jar is behind a window sheet.
