A Flower Patch Birthday

Flower Patch, Flower Fair, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

A couple of weeks ago I made a card using the stamp set called Flower Patch on a blog post.  This stamp set was the first Photopolymer Stamp Set Stampin’ Up! had in its Annual Catalog.  I actually remember getting a sneak peek of it when Stampin’ Up! announced they were going to do business in Japan.  They showed us a peek of the new Japanese catalog and I thought to myself “I hope we have that awesome set in our catalog too”.  If I am not mistaken, I also think it was one of the first stamp sets to have matching Framelits.  Well, this set is still available in the Annual Catalog.  It is not as old as Lovely As A Tree but it has been around a few years now and I still love it.  This set has matching Framelits called Flower Fair, which are also still available.

Another Thank You

One Big Meaning, Flower Patch, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I made this card using an old favorite stamp set.  Flower Patch was the first Photopolymer stamp sets that came in one of their catalogs.  They did test the waters a bit and released some Photopolymer sets separately but this one was actually in an Annual Catalog a couple of years ago.  It also has a matching set of Framelits called Flower Fair.

It was funny.  When they first came out with the Photopolymer stamps, I said no way am I buying those.  I love my rubber.  Of course, when they came out with Clear Mount Rubber, I said no way am I giving up my wood blocks!  Well, time changes and we all adjust to these new, crazy ideas.  Now most of my sets are Clear Mount and I do have a lot of Photopolymer sets.  I am still partial to rubber but I’ve adjusted to change.  You can teach an old dog new tricks!

Flower Patch

Flower Patch

Spring is the time of year where I need a lot of birthday cards.  I have a ton of birthdays between March and June so I need to keep a lot on hand.  This birthday card is perfect for Spring time.  Usually flowers start to grow around this time.  Of course, not where I live.  We usually get flowers in late May or June.  Sometimes it even snows on Mother’s Day but that is not going to happen this year.  Right?

I made this card using the stamp set called Flower Patch.  It has a matching set of Framelits called Flower Fair and you can save 15% by buying them in a bundle.  I believe that this stamp set was the first one to come in Photopolymer at Stampin’ Up!.  I can remember oohing and aahing and wondering what the heck this clear stamp stuff was.  I wasn’t too sure about it, but I learned to love it as much as the rubber.  Ok, not really as much, but I still like it alot!

Grateful For You

Flower Patch, Seasonal Frame Thinlits

I made this card because I am still remembering warm weather!  Maybe I am wishing for the warm weather to appear again.  It is only November and I want it to be July already!  In any case, I decided to make a summery kind of card so I used the stamp set called Flower Patch and bright summery colors (Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral).  Flower Patch has a matching set of Frameits called Flower Fair so there is no fussy cutting required for this card.  The greeting is from the 2015 Holiday Catalog and is called Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies.  I used Gold Glimmer Paper to add a a little sparkle to it.  This card makes me want to move to Hawaii!  Who wants to go??

Dad and Madelyn.  Two cuties in jeans!

More Ombre Cards

Tin Of Cards

A couple of weeks ago our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge was to make a card using the ombre technique.  I made a bunch of them, but of course, only posted one for the challenge.  This card using the technique in a couple of ways.  First I stamped the background using a stamp from Kinda Eclectic.  I used Soft Sky, Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Island Indigo.  Then I layered the labels from Lots Of Labels on top of that.  I wasn’t sure if I liked it very much so I made another card.

Flower Patch, Kinda Eclectic

This time I used the stamp set Flower Patch with the same background as the card on top.  Leave me a comment to let me know which one do you like better?

One Big Thanks

One Big Meaning, Flower Patch

Stampin’ Up! came just out with a heavy weight cardstock that is wonderful. It is sturdier than their regular Whisper White cardstock so it is perfect to use for a card base.  I used it to make this card.  If you are looking for it in the catalog, it is on page 149.

To make the triangle I found the exact center of the card and made a little tick mark with a pencil.  Then I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut from the tick mark to each corner.  I took a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and adhered it to the triangle.  It did not take very long at all.

The Flowers are from the Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set called One Big Meaning.  This set has seven different stamps in it and comes in wood mount or clear mount.

Flower Patch Fun

Flower Patch, Perfect Pennants

I saw a card similar to this on a Facebook group that I belong to.  It used a non-Stampin’ Up! (is there even such a thing?) flower stamp and greeting.  It used different colors too but the concept was the same.

I first stamped the sentiment from Perfect Pennants on the Whisper White card stock.  Then I stamped the flower and stem from Flower Patch and cut them out using the Flower Fair Framelits.  I lined them up and stamped the greeting over them on a separate piece of paper.  Then all I had to do was line up the greetings.  Here is a close up:

No Contact

Flower Patch, Hello Thinlits

When you order from Stampin’ Up! you have the option of clicking a box that says “no contact”.  What this means is the Demonstrator you just ordered from gets an email saying an order was placed but it does not say who placed the order.  It gives us no information about the buyer at all.  There is no name, no email or no address.   I never know if the person who places an order this way realizes this.  I understand people who buy things online and don’t want to receive any spam but clicking this option does not give me the opportunity to even say thank you.  This makes me sad because I was always taught to thank a person who does something for me.  So if you want to stay totally unknown, than that is ok but if you just don’t want to receive any spam or advertisements, then don’t click on “no contact” so I can at least thank you.  I promise I would never send you anything you don’t want.  Anyway, thank you to my “no contact” customers.  I appreciate your business!

A Simple But Elegant Workshop Card

Flower Patch, Filigree Frame

I have done a couple of workshops the last couple of weeks.  The thing with workshops is you need to design a card that doesn’t take a lot of time to make.  When there are 8 or 10 people trying to all make a cards, it can sometimes take a while.  This is one of the cards we made.  It uses the Photopolymer Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  This set has 19 different stamps in it.  Most of the stamps are different flowers but it also has some leaves and a couple of sentiments.

I also introduced the Texture Boutique Machine.  This machine uses Embossing Folders to emboss beautiful designs into your cardstock.  It is smaller than the Big Shot but embosses just as well.  In this case we used the Filigree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I think it gives the card a little elegance.

Flower Patch

Flower Patch

Happy December 1st!  You do remember there is only 24 days left until Christmas, right?  You need to at least get started!

Speaking of Christmas, this card is the total opposite!  I love Christmas, but there does reach a point where you need to take a break and think warmth and sunshine.  This card reminds me of warmth and sunshine since we don’t have any flowers growing at the moment.  This card would be a great card to use during the winter months because it just might cheer someone up!  It uses the stamp set called Flower Patch which has matching Framelits called Flower Fair.  You can save 15% by buying it in a bundle!  I hope it warms you up just a bit!
