Let’s Set Sail

Stampin Up Let's Set Sail

Rob and I have arrived at the cottage and I can not wait start seeing all the motor boats and sailboats go by.  It is such a beautiful sight and I never get tired of it.

Let’s Set Sail is a stamp set that was originally in the January – June Mini Catalog but has carried over to the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  I am so happy that it did.  It has been on my list since I first saw it but there were so many other things on my list that it kept getting pushed back.  I finally just had to get it once I got to the cottage because boats and cottages go so well together.  It comes in a bundle with a coordinating punch called Sailboat Builder Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing it in a bundle.

To make this card I first stamped the boat in Crumb Cake ink and the sails in Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight.  Then I punched them all out using the Sailboat Builder Punch.  Next I used the background stamp called Gentle Waves.  I inked it with Tahitian Tide ink, stamped it off once on  a scrap piece of paper and then stamped it again on a piece of Basic White card stock.  Unfortunately, the Gentle Waves background stamp is retiring at the end of this month.

Next I cut out a circle using the Layering Circle dies and kept the negative as a mask.  I used a Blending Brush with Daffodil Delight ink to make the sun.  Then I stamped the seagulls and the sentiment in Memento Black ink.  Lastly I adhered the boat section using Multipurpose Glue and the sails using Dimensionals.  I layered everything onto a piece of Tahitian Tide card stock and a Daffodil Delight card base.

I know you are all wondering where my sunset photos are because I know you love them as much as I do so I decided to make you all happy and post my first one of the season.  😊

Beautiful, isn’t it!?!

Waves Of The Ocean

Stampin Up Waves of Inspiration

I am really loving this Stampin’ Up!® early release of the Waves Of The Ocean Suite.  I have always been a beach girl.  Our family and friends would go to Jones Beach, which is on Long Island, a lot when we were kids.  There are multiple beaches there but we always went to Beach 2.  The waves were huge (for a little girl) and I would spend hours in the water riding the waves.  Often times I would get caught up in a wave and be pulled underneath while I tumbled onto shore.  I would get right back up do it again a hundred times.  Other mothers would watch and said to mother “aren’t you worry she will drown?” and my mother would always say “Try to stop her”.  I would come home bruised, scratched but still loving it.   I do have to admit I have done this a few times as an adult but it seems to hurt much more now.

The Waves Of The Ocean Suite includes the stamp set called Waves Of Inspiration, the coordinating dies called Waves Dies, beautiful Designer Series Paper called Waves Of The Ocean, gorgeous Blue Foil and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels.  Click HERE to see  a video showing how they designed the Designer Series Paper.

To make my card I first took a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the bottom of it with the background stamp called Gentle Waves using Balmy Blue ink.  This stamp is in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog.  Then I took a Blending Brush and blended Balmy Blue ink on top of the waves and the sky.  Next I stamped the Pelican on top of the post five times in Crumb Cake ink and cut them out using the corresponding die.  I cut the Pelican off three of them and made the dock out of two.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Slim Sayings and the seagulls in Misty Moonlight ink.  Lastly, I added cut two clouds from the Waves Dies and adhered them to the card.

Paradise Palms

Stampin Up Paradise Palms

Right now Rob and I are enjoying being in one of our happy places.  Most every February we are able to spend some time on the Florida west coast.  It is so beautiful here.  There is nothing calmer than hearing the ocean or gulf waves crashing on the sand.  It is an awesome sound to wake up to and to go to sleep by.   I thought it was appropriate to make a card using a new stamp set in the Stampin’ Up!® 2022 January – June MIni Catalog called Paradise Palms since I have a palm tree right outside our door.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Palm Dies (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle).  This was a bundle I knew I had to have the first time I saw it.  Plus, as an extra, it also coordinated with the stamp set called Timeless Tropical and the Tropical Dies that are in the Annual Catalog and another background stamp set in the MIni Catalog called Gentle Waves.

To make this card I first masked off the top section of the card and stamped the water using the Gentle Waves stamp in Misty Moonlight ink.  Then I used a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue ink cover the waves.  After that I moved the mask over the waves section plus I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Dies from a Post-it Note to cover where the setting sun would be and blended the top portion of the card using a Blending Brush and Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, Pumpkin Pie and Misty Moonlight ink.  I cut out the Palm Trees in Basic Black card stock and adhered them to the front of the card using Multipurpose Glue.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink.

Don’t forget it is still Sale-a-bration time where you can earn free products with a qualifying order.  There are several stamp sets and Designer Series Paper packs to choose from and there is no limit to how many you can earn.
