Hues Of Happiness Fun Fold

Hues Of Happiness Fun Fold

As you know, I love Fun Fold cards.  When I receive a card in the mail, it always makes me so happy but if it is a Fun Fold card, it really makes me smile.  This card opens in two different ways.  First, the front piece just opens as a normal card would like this:

Then, the inside piece also opens up the opposite way.

This Fun Fold card is very easy to make.  First I took a Balmy Blue A2 card base (4.25″ x 5.5″) and added a piece of the same size of Country Gingham Designer Series Paper on the front.  I find the best way to do this is to use Multipurpose Glue.  The glue gives you a little bit of time to move the piece of DSP so it lines up perfectly.  Don’t worry if you are off a bit because you can always cut a little bit off if you need to.  After it dried I used a couple of dies from the Framed Florets die set to cut out the oval and the oval of hearts on the front of the card.

Next, I took an 8″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock and folded it in half.  I adhered it to the inside of the Balmy Blue card base so it opened the opposite way from the front of the card.  I cut the flowers and leaves from the Designer Series Paper called Hues Of Happiness using the Blossoming Happiness die set.  I love how Stampin’ Up! designs their dies to do this.  I used a pencil and lightly drew the oval shape from the front of the card onto the inside of the card so the flowers and leaves would fit inside the oval on the front.  I layered these on top of the Basic White inside card.  Then I erased the pencil marks so you could not see them.  I stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment and cut it out using a miscellaneous die and adhered the ends of it to the front of the card.  You don’t want to add adhesive over the entire piece or it will stick to the inside piece too.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink and added the flower and leaves from the DSP.

It really did not take a long time to make this card at all.

My daughter-in-law, Tara is in charge of a program at Vanderbilt that provides comfort supplies to the end of life patients in the hospital.  One of the items they are looking for are nice, homemade bereavement cards to send to the families.  I was wondering if any of you are willing to send as many sympathy cards as you can to help out her program.  If you can only send one, that is fine.  She would appreciate anything you could do.  If you have friends, family, downline, customers, etc that stamp, would you mind asking them too?  If you can send them with an envelope, that would be great but if not, I will donate a bunch of envelopes to help out.
Please send them to:

Thanks so much for your consideration.
One of my favorite things that Stampin’ Up!® does lately is to make dies that cut out some of the designs in Designer Series Paper.  The Hues Of Happiness Suite includes the stamp set called Happiness Abounds, Coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies, Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper and Glossy Dots.  Some of the dies in this suite cut out the leaves and flowers in the DSP.  It is a fun way to way to make a card when you don’t have a lot of time.
To make this card, I first cut out the various flowers and leaves using the dies.  Then, I cut out the frame from the Framed Florets die set in Basic White cardstock.  I layered the frame, flowers and leaves on a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock that I had first embossed using the Gingham embossing folder and then onto a Basic White card base.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using Gold embossing powder.  Lastly, I added some Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls (which have sold out and therefore, are not available).

Last weekend my sister and her husband came to Nashville for a visit.  Emily had been to Nashville once to help me when I had my Achilles tendon surgery last spring but we didn’t get to do much since I wasn’t walking at the time and Peter had never been here before.  We had a great time going to Broadway in downtown Nashville one afternoon.  We went inside a lot of the honky tonks and listened to some great music.  Then on another night we went to an Italian restaurant and then to a show at the Listening Room.  If you have never been to the Listening Room you should go.  It is where singer/songwriters get to play the music they wrote for famous people.  It was a lot of fun and we got to hear some more music by the people who wrote it.  I am not sure why they are not famous because the songs were great and they all sang really well.

Hues Of Happiness is a beautiful suite of products that are in the Stampin’ Up!®  2022/2023 Annual Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set called Happiness Abounds, coordinating Blossoming Happiness dies, Glossy Dots and Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  One of my favorite (among many!) things I love about this suite is that some of the dies cut out some of the images in the Designer Series Paper.  I think that is a fantastic idea and I use them a lot.

This card was very easy to make, although it doesn’t look like it.  I first cut out the flower and the leaves from the DSP using the appropriate dies.  Then I cut out the squares (two squares that are 2.5″ and two that are 2 5/8″) in Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo card stock and layered them on top of each other.  Then I adhered the flower and leaves on the diagonal of one.  I layered both of them on a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of the Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper, a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Melon Mambo and a Blushing Bride card base.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink on a piece of Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo card stock.   The entire card took no time at all, yet I think it is beautiful.

Stampin Up Happiness Abounds

I was finally able to get the ladies from my old stamp camp over to the cottage for a little food, fun and stamping.  It was so nice to see them again and we had a great time.

This is one of the cards we made that night.  I used the Hues of Happiness Suite that is in the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set called Happiness Abounds, the coordinating dies called Blossoming Happiness, Hues Of Happiness Designer and Glossy Dots Assortment.  You can order everything in the suite using one item number or you can order items separately.  If you use the suite number or the bundle number you will save 10% on the stamps and dies.

One of the reasons I wanted this suite is because of the Designer Series Paper.  It is gorgeous!  One side has flower designs and the other side has some beautiful abstract colors.  Plus the Blossoming Happiness dies coordinate with the DSP too because you can use the dies to cut out some of the leaves and flowers.  In addition to this, the dies have some great extras.  There is one die that cuts out a pattern and there are two dies that cut out straight lines of dots or dashes to make it look like you ripped the paper out of a notebook.  Plus there are five great sentiments included in the stamp set.

This was a very easy card to make.  I first layered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of the Designer Paper on a Basic White card base.  Next, I cut the design out of a 2.25″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock.  See how the dies cut out some of the leaves and only partially cut out others?  Next, I used the dies in the set to cut out the leaves and a flower.  I adhered them to the card using Dimensionals.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a 1/2″ wide piece of Pool Party card stock.

I love how Stampin’ Up! does all the work and makes it so easy to create a beautiful card.
