Love You To Pieces

Love You To Pieces is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Puzzle Pieces.  Unfortunately, both of these items will be retiring on June 2nd.  It is too bad because it is such a cute stamp set and it kind of fits with the pandemic that is happening right now.  Sentiments such as “let’s get together soon” and “you are my missing piece” are perfect to use nowadays.  The dies are such fun too because you can take a photograph and cut it up using the dies to send to someone to put together.  It would be fun to send something like that to Madelyn or Emory.

The colors I used for this card are Petal Pink, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  I first layered a piece of the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper onto a Cherry Cobbler card base. The I stamped the two puzzle sentiments in Cherry Cobbler ink and cut them out using the Puzzle Pieces dies.  I stamped the bottom sentiment and cut that using the Classic Label Punch.  I stamped the outline puzzle pieces and hearts in Cherry Cobbler ink also and then added the solid puzzle pieces using Dimensionals to pop them up a bit.

Love You To Pieces

Love you To Pieces is one of the stamp sets that is carrying over into the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  This stamp set has matching dies called Puzzle Pieces.  If you order this bundle before June 4th you can save 10%.  When the new catalog becomes available on June 4th, the bundle price goes away.

The thing I love about this set is you can do so much with it.  You can print out a photograph or picture of anything and cut it into puzzle pieces to send to someone to put together.  My grandchildren love doing this.

To make this card I first cut out the puzzle pieces in Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock.  Then I adhered them onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock, alternating the colors.  When you do this, it gives you two cards to make.  Then I stamped the puzzle piece with the sentiment using Pacific Point ink and cut that out using the matching die.  I stamped the other sentiment and punched it out using the 2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to a piece of Pacific Point cardstock that I punched out using the Starburst Punch.  I layered all of these pieces onto Granny Apple Green cardstock.

This is another card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last week.  It uses a stamp set called Love You To Pieces.  This stamp set has matching dies called Puzzle Pieces Thinlits.  The dies cut out a 3.75″ square puzzle.

If you look closely you will notice that we used the die but did not cut out the puzzle pieces.  This is because we used the new Big Shot Embossing Mats!  You use these mats to emboss with your dies without cutting them out.  How cool is that?!  One thing though, is you need to be careful and make sure your sandwich is correct or it will cut your mats.  Ask me how I know!  *rolling eyes*.  The directions come with it so make sure you read them before using them.

The colors we used on this card are Pacific Point and Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Yesterday I told you that Madelyn, Nolan and their parents came for a visit.  Sam and Tara had a wedding to go to so we got to be with the kids without them.  You know how that goes.  No parents around to tell us what we can and cannot do with our grandchildren!  We had fun!

It happened to be Princess and Pirate Day at Boldt Castle.  If you have never been there it is worth going to.  There is a very romantic tale that goes with Boldt Castle that you can read about on their website.  It was abandoned many years ago and was eventually given to the Thousand Island Bridge Authority who has been renovating it for many years.  It is gorgeous inside.

Last weekend was Princess and Pirate Day where you can dress up, talk to and see princesses and pirates.  Belle, Snow White and Tinkerbell were there.  They had a “real” mermaid swimming in the pool and pirates were everywhere.  Madelyn dressed up as Elsa (the princess from Frozen) and Nolan was a pirate.

As you can see, Madelyn loved Belle!
