Marbled | Susan Stamps

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting. We have a few new members in our club so I decided I wanted to show them background stamps. Background stamps have been around a long time but I often forget about them. They are perfect for adding some interest and color to a card. Stampin’ Up! has ten different background stamps. In this case, we used the stamp called Marbled. I love the swirls this stamp makes. In this case I used Soft Sky for the background. I originally used Lemon Lime Twist but I didn’t really like how it turned out. I’ll let you decide.

This card uses three new products from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. First, let’s talk about the background. Do you remember the Shaving Cream Technique? I loved it but it made such a mess! You had to put shaving cream on a plate or container, add drops of ink to it and swirl it around with a knife or something similar. Then you had to dip your card into it, wipe off the shaving cream and you ended up with a swirly background.

Well, Stampin’ Up! now has a background stamp called Marbled where all you need to do is add ink and stamp to get the same swirly background. It makes things so much easier! You can still add different colors by using ink pads or markers. In this case, I just used a Lemon Lime Twist ink pad.

The other new products are a stamp set called Lemon Zest. This set has a matching punch called Lemon Builder and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. I have always had a thing for fruit so I loved this Bundle the second I saw it. It also has cute sayings that go with the Lemon or Lime idea (you can just stamp it in Lemon Lime Twist to make it a lime instead of a lemon).
