Taking A Break From The Holidays

Flower Shop, Mixed Bunch

I know it is almost Fall but I am still having trouble letting summer go.  Although September usually has beautiful weather in this area, it always seems like the month belongs to Fall.  I decided to change it up a little bit from the holidays and the Holiday Catalog by offering one last look at summer.

I made this card using Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop and Petite Petals.  These sets go so well together when you want to layer flowers.  The Designer Series Paper is called Gold Soiree and can be found in the Annual Catalog.

Goodbye summer.  We’ll see you next year!

Another August Birthday Card

Amazing Birthday

I got the idea for this card from Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!  She has a blog where she occasionally posts pictures of cards she has made or received.  Her blog address is www.soshelli.com in case you want to check it out.  Anyway, she made a card that sort of, but not really, looked like this.  I just took her design and made it my own.  It is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) and is perfectly allowable.  Whenever you CASE something, it is always nice to give the original card maker credit.

I used a few different stamp sets to make this card.  They are Amazing Birthday, Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, Petite Petals, and Gorgeous Grunge.  I used a new Thinlit called Striped Scallop as well as all the punches that match the flower stamps.

Happy Birthday Tara

DSC02174Today is my favorite daughter-in law’s Birthday.  Tara is married to my middle son, Sam and is 30 years old today!  I made this card for her using the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Collection.  I love using them on my cards.  It is like having a whole bunch of different Designer Series Paper on hand and the bright colors are just my style.  This card uses Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush and Bermuda Bay. Of course, the Project Life cards are supposed to be used as pocket scrapbookking but you can use them as cards too.

For the sentiment I used Itty Bitty Banners with the matching Bitty Banners Framelits.  The flowers is from Mixed Bunch cut out using the matching punch called Blossom.

Happy Birthday, Tara!  Love you!

The Difference Between Flowers

Mixed Bunch

Stampin’ Up! has a lot of different flower stamps with matching punches so I decided to make a card showing you the difference between each of them.  The largest flower on this card is from the stamp set called Mixed Bunch.  The punch that matches this set is called Blossom Punch.  As you can see from the picture the flowers in Mixed Bunch have 6 petals whereas the other sets have only 5.

The middle flower (stamped in Daffodil Delight) is from the stamp set called Flower Shop.  The matching punch is called Pansy Punch and you can save 15% if you buy both in a Bundle.   I don’t know this for a fact, but usually the Bundle price is only good for one year which means the savings will go away on May 31st.  Of course, at this point, I don’t know if any of these items will be in the next catalog.  The Retirement List comes out April 21st.

The smallest flower, which was stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe is from the stamp set called Petite Petals.  The matching punch is also called Petite Petals.  Both of these items are in the Occasions Catalog and you can save 15% by buying them in a Bundle.

The background of this card was stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set and the sentiment is from Happy Watercolor.

Everything Will Be Ok

DSC01360

I love this expression – “Everything will Be Ok, even if we can’t see what ok is yet”.  It is a great sentiment to use when someone you know just has so much stuff going on and you just want to let them know that you are thinking about them and that things will work out in the end.  It is from the stamp set called Really Good Greetings, which really does have good greetings!

I actually used a lot of different stamp sets on this card.  The trellis is from Summer Silhouettes.  The flowers are from Mixed Bunch and Flower Shop and the leaves is a Big Shot die called Sizzlits Little Leaves.  Of course, still loving those In Colors!

Mixed Bunch

By now I am sure you are asking yourself, when is she going to stop using that Primrose Petals.  I hate to say this, but hopefully never.  This is on In Color I will be very sad to see go!.

This card uses the Primrose Petals Core’dination Paper.  After you emboss this paper you can lightly sand it to have the white show through.  I think it is a great effect.  The flower is from Mixed Bunch and the leaves were cut using my Big Shot and the Little Leaves Sizzlits.

Stamp-A-Stack Class For Beginners

This week I held a Stamp-a-stack class for beginner stampers.  I think everyone had a good time and learned a few things about stamping.

One card we made was a design I made at Leadership last year.  I changed it a bit but for the most part it is the same.  We used Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, the Blossom Punch and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

A Fun Birthday Card

I made this card using the new Chevron Embossing Folder.  This has become one of my favorites.  The stamp set is Mixed Bunch and Cute and Curley.  I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo for paper and ink.

March 2012 Club Projects

Last night was the March meeting for our Sackets Club.  I showed the group the new Stampin Up Diagonal Plate that fits right over our Simply Scored Score Board.  They saw how easy it is to make an envelope using this plate.  It takes less than a minute to make one!  Now you can have matching envelopes with all your cards!

Here are pictures of the cards we made .  The first card uses the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Punch from the Occasions Mini and Elementary Elegance stamp set from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  We used Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and Tempting Turquoise Card stock and then topped it off with a Tempting Turquoise Button which is also free in the SAB Catalog!

The next card using Fresh Vintage stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog as well as Everyday Enchantment DSP.  The colors we used were Very Vanilla and Poppy Parade.

The last card we made uses the Tea Shoppe stamp set from the Occasions Mini and the Everyday Enchantment DSP from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  The card stock colors are Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla and we finished it off the Pear Pizzaz Pleated Ribbon.

Leadership 2012 Make ‘N Takes

I bought this great picture frame holder at Pier One after seeing it on another blog.  It holds cards perfectly.  All these cards were made using the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, the Blossom Punch and The Designer Printed Kit called Blossom Builders in the Occasions Mini.  Some of these the cards were Make ‘n Takes from the Stampin Up Leadership Conference I went to in San Antonio.
The Blossom Builders Kit includes two sheets of the cut out flowers as well as pink rhinestones in two different sizes.
