Thanks For Being You

Oh My Goodies

I’ll be the first to admit, I was not fond of the new In Color called Cucumber Crush when I first saw it.  All I could think of the John Deere green.  My second thought was it is the color of a rival school in this area.  Then I decided to give it a chance and after playing with it for a bit, I decided it was a great color after all.  It goes great with some of our colors such as Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.  How did I ever come up with these colors?  It was easy.  I bought the Designer Series Paper called Cherry On Top (I know.  I am not very original) and all of those colors are in this paper.  I especially love Cucumber Crush with Bermuda Bay.  I also think it will make a great Christmas green.  This taught me to not be so quick on making up my mind.

Of course, I didn’t have any trouble making up my mind when I first saw Madelyn.  I loved her the second I saw her.  Who couldn’t love such a face!!?

Oh My Goodies

Oh My Goodies

This started out as a masculine birthday card but then I sort of blew it when I used Bermuda Bay and Tangelo Twist for the stamp in the middle.  I guess it still could be a card for a man but it probably would have been better with different colors.  The reason I used these bright colors is I thought it made it pop out more.

To make the Whisper White squares, I used the Squares Collection Framelits and lined them up all on one sheet of paper.  It was pretty easy to do using the Magnetic Platform because the Framelits would stay in place.

Madelyn had her one month old check up today with the Pediatrician today.  Her Mom sent me this picture.  I don’t think she was very pleased with the whole thing!  She reminds me of her Dad at that age.  He used to scowl a lot too!

World Of Dreams

World of Dreams, Oh My Goodies

By now you should realize that I really love the look of Sahara Sand and Crisp Cantaloupe or Calypso Coral.  I have posted a few cards using this color combination lately.  I just think they go so well together.  For this card, I used Calypso Coral.  Unfortunately, Crisp Cantaloupe is one of the In Colors that is retiring.  I sure will miss that one!

I used the stamp set called World of Dreams to stamp the flowers.  I stamped each one twice before re-inking the stamp which creates the light and dark flowers.  It does kind of look like Crisp Cantaloupe but it isn’t.  Then I stamped the leaves in Sahara Sand.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Oh My Goodies.  The stamps in this set match the Deco Label Framelits so there was no fussy cutting.

Oh My Goodies Birthday

Oh My Goodies, Dotty Angles

I made this birthday card for a friend of mine who has a birthday in November.  Whenever someone has a birthday during a holiday month I try not to use the holiday colors.  Thanksgiving is associated with the colors of Fall (oranges, reds and yellows) so I made this card using blue and green.  That is about as far away from Thanksgiving colors as you can get!

The stamp set Oh My Goodies matches the Deco Labels Framelits so there is no fussy cutting.  I stamped the Happy Birthday stamp in Wild Wasabi and then again in Island Indigo.  Then I cut out the Umpteenth part and attached it with Dimensionals.  The ribbons is the 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon in Island Indigo.  It is very soft and pretty in “real” life.

Happy Birthday, Mary!  I hope you have a terrific day!

A Crazy Colored Thank You

Oh My Goodies

I have been trying to use different color combinations than my normal ones.  You know.  I need to get out of my comfort zone sometimes.  Normally I would never have put these two colors together (Tempting Turquoise and Elegant Eggplant).  I don’t think they look too bad if you want a very bright card!  The stamp set I used is called Oh My Goodies and matching the Deco Label Framelits.  To get the squiggle I traced it on a piece of light cardboard twice (once for the bottom and once for the top) and then cut it out very carefully.  I am not much of a fussy cutter (as they say) but I like the squiggle so I am going to keep that piece of cardboard for future use.

Oh My Goodies Birthday

Oh My Goodies

This card uses a couple of the new Stampin’ Up! 2014/2016 In Colors.  One is called Blackberry Bliss and the other is Hello Honey.  The Blackberry Bliss is really a beautiful dark purple and it goes great with the softness of the Hello Honey.

The Designer Series Paper I used on this card is called Moonlight.  It is a pack of 48 4.5 x 6.5 sheets which are perfect for card making.  They are double sided too so they would be perfect to use in your Project Life scrapbook pages.  The stamp set is a new one from the Annual Catalog called Oh My Goodies.  It coordinates with the Deco Labels Framelits.

Oh My Goodies & Project Life

Oh My Goodies, PLxSU

Thirty one years ago I married Rob.  Wow it is hard to believe how time has flown.  I know people say that all the time but honestly it is true.  Together we have three wonderful boys (who are now men) and one daughter in law, all of whom we are very proud of.  It has been a great 31 years and I would do it all over again if given the chance.  I did make Rob a card but I decided not to post it today.  Sometimes I just have to keep things between the two of us.

Today’s card is made with a new stamp set called Oh My Goodies.  I know.  It is a very weird name and a very weird sentiment but I love it anyway.  There are four stamps in this set that go with the Deco Labels Framelits.  The stamp I used is one of my favorite from the set.

The background is one of the cards from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Collection.  I have used quite a number of these cards as backgrounds and I particularly love this set because of the bright colors.  Everyone know Bermuda Bay with either Daffodil Delight or in this case, Crushed Curry, is one of my favorite combinations.  All you need to do is look at my blog header to realize this!

Happy Anniversary, Onion.  I love you the most!
