A Flower Challenge

Good morning, everyone.  Today our BD & J Productions Challenge is to make something with flowers.  Of course, this has to be one of the easiest challenges we have.  Stampin’ Up!® has so many flower stamps that it was hard to choose which one to use.  I decided to go with an older set called Oh So Eclectic and mix it with some new products from the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

The colors I used for this card are Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.

To make this card I first cut out the background using the Florentine Thinlits Die and Whisper White cardstock.  This die is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  I adhered that to the card base of Calypso Coral.  Then I stamped the greeting using the stamp set called Life Is Grand.  This is also in the Occasions Catalog.  I stamped the flowers in Calypso Coral Ink and colored them with my Dark and Light Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Up!® Blends.  I stamped the leaves and cut the flowers and leaves out using the matching Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made.  I look forward to this every challenge day!

Oh So Eclectic

Oh So Eclectic is one of those stamp sets that is part of a Suite that Stampin’ Up! puts together to make it easier to match things up for you.  The Suite is called Naturally Eclectic and includes this stamp set, the matching Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies, Designer Series Paper (Naturally Eclectic), three colors of matching cardstock, Ribbon and Card Overlays.

I used the stamp set, Oh So Eclectic with the matching Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies to make this card.  By the way, if you buy these in a Bundle, you can save 10%.  I love that Stampin’ Up! makes dies to cut out the shapes in the stamp set but the best part is they include other dies that do more.  The cut out background is an example of this.  There is also a die in there that just embosses.  It is very cool!

The cardstock colors I used are Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate.  The ink colors are Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

The sentiment is from Heartfelt Blooms which is a stamp set you can get for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order.  If you buy the Bundle in wood mount, you will be eligible with that alone.  If you buy the Bundle in clear mount you just need to add something small to your order to qualify.

Oh So Eclectic

After having a birthday, I needed to get back on the Thank You card wagon.  My family gave me some amazing gifts.  I told them all I really wanted is for all of them to come see me but that wasn’t quite possible since they live so far away so gifts was the next best thing!  David did come out for dinner with us that night, which was fun.

I made this card using the stamp set called Oh So Eclectic.  This stamp set has some matching Framelits called Eclectic Layers and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  These are both part of a suite which usually means there are other products that go with them.  In this case, there is Designer Series Paper called Naturally Eclectic,  There are card overlays which are also called Naturally Eclectic.  I love the way Stampin’ Up! puts these products to together to help take the guesswork out of matching products up.  Although I didn’t use all of these products on this card, I will list them below for your convenience.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Thankful Thoughts.

An In Color Stamp Off Challenge

I know everyone loves Fridays because it is usually the last day of the week to work.  I know a lot of people work weekends too but Fridays have always been looked at that way.  I love Friday because it is the day Jackie, Buffy and I have our Stamp Off Challenge.  This week’s challenge is a color one.

I decided to use Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide.  I love Lemon Lime Twist but since I use it so much I decided to give some love to the other colors that I don’t use very often.  It is not that I don’t like them because I do.  I just forget about them.

For my card I used the stamp set called Oh So Eclectic.  I won this stamp set at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage last April.  This stamp set has matching Thinlits called Eclectic Layers and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The sentiment I used is from Thankful Thoughts and the splatters are from Timeless Textures.

The layout of this card may look familiar to some of you.  Whenever I get stuck making a card I usually try to find a sketch challenge.  I got this sketch challenge from Create With Connie and Mary.  Jackie participates in this challenge quite often which is where I first heard of them.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using three of the new In Colors.

Oh So Eclectic

Oh So Eclectic is another new stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  It is a two step stamp set which means you use two stamps to make one image.  When I first looked at this set it didn’t really catch my eye.  I actually won this set at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in April.  Then I saw the matching dies called Eclectic Layers Thinlits and I knew I wanted themt.  The dies are awesome (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).

The Thinlits cut out all the flowers and leaves in the set but they also do so much more.  There is the large die which cuts out the diamond design on my card.  There is also a leaf die that just embossed and doesn’t cut through the cardstock.

Here is a Stampin’ Up! video that shows how they work

.

The colors I used for this card are Whisper White, Pool Party, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.

A Glossy Cardstock Stamp Off Challenge

Friday is my favorite day of the week.  It is the day that Jackie, Buffy and I get to share our Stamp Off Challenges.  This week our challenge is to use the new Stampin’ up! Glossy White Cardstock.

Stampin’ Up! used to sell Glossy White Cardstock and this year they decided to bring it back.  I never purchased it the first time around and honestly, I wasn’t going to purchase it this time around either until I saw the challenge for this week.  Opps.  I had to order some and I am so glad I did.  Well, I was glad I did after I saw Buffy’s and Jackie’s creations last week.  They used Glossy White Cardstock.  I also did some research on what to do with it!  I found out you can use this paper to make beautiful backgrounds using our Ink Refills.

I decided to make my background using Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party.  You can’t really see the Pool Party in this but it is there. The Bermuda Bay Ink and the Lemon Lime mixture made a color close to Emerald Envy.   I put a bunch of ink drops onto aluminum foil and then squished the Glossy Cardstock on top of it while twisting it until the paper was entirely covered with ink.  Then I decided to blot some of it off.  I used paper towel and realized that my paper towel left little dots all over it.  I didn’t intend for that to happen but decided I liked the look of that.  Here is what it looks like up close:

I used three other new products from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  The stamp set is called Oh So Eclectic.  It has a set of matching dies called Eclectic Layers and you can save 10% by purchasing them both in a Bundle.  I actually got the stamp set for free at the April OnStage event.   I love the die that cuts out the diamond pattern so I wanted to purchase the dies.

The sentiment comes from the new stamp set called Tabs For Everything (I just realized I got this one for free too!).  This stamp set has a matching punch called Circle Tab (you can save 10% by purchasing both of these in a Bundle too!).  This set is going to be super popular.  A few years ago Stampin’ Up! had a Tab Punch that now sells online for a ton of money if you can even find it.  This new punch will do the same thing.  It is awesome!

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using the new Glossy Cardstock.
