Watercooler Challenge WCC23

It is that time again for another Watercooler Challenge.  This time Marsha gave us this picture to use as inspiration for our creations.47a5dd28b3127cce98548a6519e20000003810wAbsWbFozaNGbUAYou could use the colors, the flowers or the idea of spring for your card.  I chose to use flowers (gee, I bet that is a surprise!).  Here is my card:

Painted Petals

I used the stamp set in the 2015 Occasions Catalog called Painted Petals.  The really nice thing about this set is you can get it in your choice of wood mount, clear mount or Photopolymer.  It is a two-step stamp set so I chose to get it in Photopolymer because you can see exactly where you are stamping.  That makes it so easy to line up.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Painted Petals

April showers may bring May flowers in some parts of the world but up here in Northern New York, it isn’t always true.  Some people have flowers in their yards already but those of us who live with lots of trees and not so much sunshine still have green stumps.  The nice thing about that is after other people’s flowers are dying, mine are just beginning to bloom.  I guess every thing has a good side and a bad side.  Let’s just hope we get some summer weather by the fourth of July!

I made this card using the stamp set called Painted Petals.  It is a two-step stamp set where you use one stamp and then add another to make one image.  In the case of Painted Petals, the flowers are one stamp and the leaves and stems are another.  Here is what the card looks like when you open it.

I cut out the window using two different sizes of the Circle Collection Framelits.

Painted Petals

Painted Petals

Painted Petals is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  It is a two-step stamp set which means you use two stamps to make one image.  In this case the leaves are one stamp and the flowers are another.  This set is for every taste becausr it comes in your choice of wood mount, clear mount and Photopolymer.  I am a wood mount girl but I bought this set in Photopolymer because it makes it so much easier to line up the two stamps.  Photopolymer stamps are actually clear so once you ink it you can see exactly where you need to stamp.  As a side note, I purposely did not try to line up the flowers.  Oh, and try not to tie the ribbon upside down (as I did!).

Pay It Forward

Painted Petals

Last October Rob and I went to Savannah to visit my middle sister for her 60th birthday.  My mom, my oldest sister and her husband also came too.  It was really nice to spend some time with my family.  It doesn’t happen very often so I enjoy it when it does.  We decided to go to downtown Savannah for the day.  My eldest sister lent me a beautiful scarf to wear because it was a little chilly.  I loved that scarf and didn’t want to give it back to her but of course, I did.

Last week I came home from work and found a package at my door.  Inside was a present from my sister.  Yes, it was the scarf!  She told me that someone had challenged her to “Pay It Forward” and for some reason I popped into her head so she sent it to me.  I was so surprised and thankful so I made her this card.

Rob and I like to “Pay It Forward” and try to do it often.  I would like to encourage everyone who reads my blog to do a little something for someone in the next week or so.  It doesn’t have to be big or expensive.  Just send someone something that might make them smile.  It could be a handmade card or letter or it could be a small gift.  It could even be sent anonymously.   It might even make you feel better and smile.

Painted Petals & Lotus Blossom

Painted Petals, Lotus Blossom

If you know anything about me by now, you know that I love flower stamps.  I thought the new stamp set called Painted Petals and the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Lotus Blossom could go well together so I decided to make a card using both.  The Painted Petals stamp set is in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  The best thing about this set is you can get it in your choice of wood mount, clear mount or Photopolymer!   I love that Stampin’ Up! is offering some of their sets in all three choices.  You can get the Lotus Blossom stamp set for Free with a $50 order.  Remember, Stampin’ Up! will not offer any of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalog for sale so now is your only chance to obtain it ~ Free!

This card uses a new stamp set from the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Painted Petals

Painted Petals

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly Club meeting in January.  It uses a couple of new products.  One is the stamp set called Painted Petals.  This set can be found in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  It is an awesome two step stamping set.  You have a choice of ordering it in Wood Mount, Clear Mount or Photopolymer!  I love the Stampin’ Up! offers this set in all materials!

The paper behind the the flowers is called Irresistibly Yours.  You can earn this Designer Series Paper for FREE with a $50 order!!  This paper is beautiful on it’s own but the nice thing about it, is you can use ink and sponges, markers or Blendabilities to color it if you want.  It is a white paper with a glossy design on it.  There are 6 different designs (flowers, stripes, stars, fan fold, leaves and dots).  It is gorgeous!
