Something For Baby

Something For Baby

This is the second card we made at my monthly Stamp Club meeting.  I decided to take a break from Christmas cards with the group.  Some of the ladies in the group have children, grandchildren or expecting either so I thought it would be a good time to use this set.   The best thing is it has a set of matching Framelits called Baby’s First Framelits.  You can buy both in a bundle and save 15%!

The two panels were made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and were tied together using Crushed Curry Bakers Twine.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Petite Pairs.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC45

47a5d720b3127cce98548acc27be0000003010wAbsWbFozaNGbUA

It is that time of the week again for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge was brought to us by me!  It is a sketch challenge and here it is:

Dec 2

Here is my card:

Sea Street, WWC45

There are two reasons why I chose to use Sea Street in this challenge.  One is because I needed a break from making Christmas Cards but the main reason is because I have a ton of family and friends who have December birthdays.  Their biggest complaint is people give them birthday gifts wrapped in Christmas paper and Christmas themed cards.  On one hand, they should be grateful to get birthday gifts (Ha!) but on the other hand, I would probably agree with them if I had a December birthday.

Now check out the other Watercooler Artist’s creations HERE.  They made some awesome things!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCCCS151

I haven’t participated in a challenge lately so I thought I would look for one.  I came across the Paper Craft Crew Challenge (actually some friends of mine are part of the design team) and thought I would make a card using this sketch.

PCCCS106-160-016-300x300Here is my card:

By The Tide, PCCC151

I used the stamp set called By The Tide.  It has been around for a while but I still love it.  I didn’t follow the sketch exactly but I hope it is close enough.  I couldn’t figure out what to use for the three little flowers so I just left them off.  Then I decided it was a masculine card so I didn’t put a ribbon on it either.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I cut it out using a new Framelit from the set called Tags & Labels.

Something Borrowed

Something Borrowed, Beautiful Bunch, Everything Eleanor

Fourteen and a half years ago, we built the house we are living in.  I love our house.  When we bought it, someone had half finished it.  They had constructed all the outside walls but it was all 2 x 4’s on the inside.  Although it was stressful, as building always is, it was a lot of fun.  There is a downside to this though.  When you build a house, you buy all new appliances at the same time.  Well guess what?  All those new appliances start to break down at the same time!  In the past year we have had to replace the dryer and the washer.  Our dishwasher is on it’s last legs (we actually have to almost wash the dishes before using it).

Today, our new dryer, wasn’t working properly so we called the repairman.  Thankfully it is still covered under warranty.  He figured out what was wrong, and of course has to order parts.  As he was walking out the door, he jumped about a foot off the ground and said “did you hear that?”.  “What?” I replied.  “Your refrigerator made an awful noise.  That means the compressor is going to go out any day now.  I would be shopping for new refrigerators if I were you!”  Sigh.

Anyway, I made this card using the Designer Series Paper called Something Borrowed.  It is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  I love it because every design uses Sahara Sand.  Sahara Sand goes with EVERYTHING!  In this case, I used it with Blushing Bride.

Wish me luck with refrigerator shopping!

Petite Petals Framed

DSC01794

Here is another card using the stamp set called Petite Petals from the Stampin Up! Occasions Catalog.  It has a matching punch also called Petite Petals Punch and you can save 15% if you buy them both in a Bundle.  I made the frame on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock using an embossing folder called Designer Frames.  You get two folders in this set.  One is the rectangle frame that I used and the other is oval shaped frame.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Petite Pairs and is in the Annual Catalog.  I like the simplicity of the white on white on this card.  It makes the colors pop out.

Peekaboo Frame Thanks

I got the idea for this card when I went to the Stampin Up! Convention in July in Salt Lake City.  Shelli Gardner, Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin Up! made a card like this and showed it to us at one of the General Sessions.  I don’t have a picture to share of her card because I lost all my photos I took from Convention, so I just made one using the products I have on hand.   When you pull the ribbon on the tag it pulls open the door and shows a hidden message.

To make the window you just use the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die.  It cuts out the frame and window section for you.  I just attached the tag that you pull on the edge of the window using Sticky Strip.

Don’t forget about the Holiday Sale going on now through December 2nd!!

The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Day 6

DSC01396

Welcome the the sixth day of The Twelve Days Of Christmas Series.  I hope you are enjoying seeing all the different Christmas Cards you can make quickly and easily.

This card uses the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.  The greeting is from the set called Petite Pairs.  All you need to do to make this card is use your Real Red Marker to color the birds.  Then use your Early Expresso Marker to color the branches.  Huff on your stamp and stamp it on Whisper White card stock.  Then stamp your greeting in Real Red and put your card together.  It can’t get much simpler than that!  Easy!

Freshly Made Sketches – Festive Flurry

Freshly Made Sketches 103

Freshly Made Sketches 103

Here is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.  I used the stamp set called Festive Flurry that has matching Framelits also called Festive Flurry.  If you buy both in a Bundle you can save 15%.  The set has four very large snowflakes that are so easy to cut out with the Framelits.  There is no poking little pieces out which is one of the things I love about this set.

In the middle of the snowflake I put an embellishments called Frosted Finishes.  These are really so beautiful in real life and it is hard to see just how sparkly they are in a picture.  They are absolutely gorgeous.

Here is the Freshly Made Sketch:

Tag A Bag Accessory Kit

DSC01282

On pages 158 – 159 of the Stampin Up! Annual Catalog they are featuring the Tag A Bag System.  It includes bags, boxes and, of course, tags.  In a previous post, I showed you the box I made from the Make ‘N Take at the Stampin Up! Convention (Click HERE is see this post).  These kits are perfect for gift giving but the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit can also be used to make cards.  It comes with 10 large tags, 10 medium builder tags, mini clothespins, Bakers Twine (in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay & Tangerine Tango), Adhesive strips (which I used to make the diagonals on the card above) all for just $7.95.  Of course, if you Bundle it with the bags or Bundle it with the boxes you can save money!

Mixed Bunch

By now I am sure you are asking yourself, when is she going to stop using that Primrose Petals.  I hate to say this, but hopefully never.  This is on In Color I will be very sad to see go!.

This card uses the Primrose Petals Core’dination Paper.  After you emboss this paper you can lightly sand it to have the white show through.  I think it is a great effect.  The flower is from Mixed Bunch and the leaves were cut using my Big Shot and the Little Leaves Sizzlits.
