Vintage Leaves

Vintage Leaves is another stamp set that will be retiring in a couple of days.  This is such a great set to own.  It has matching Framelits called Leaflets and is perfect for those chilly fall days when the leaves are turning and the colors are awesome.  Believe me, if you do not own this set you will regret it in the Fall!

It is not Fall right now so I decided to use more summery colors.  I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide and So Saffron.  I decided I wanted to soften them a bit so I sponged them with these colors too.

Unfortunately, I used the Brick Wall Embossing Folder on this card which has already sold out and is unavailable for purchase now.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which is another must-have stamp set that is retiring.  I stamped it using Tranquil Tide ink and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch  This punch will be in the new catalog.  I layered on top of a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon,

Remember, there is only a couple of days left to buy the items on the Retirement List.  On Friday these items will be gone for good!

If you need any more convincing, here are a couple of more cards I made in the past using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

Christmas Pines

Earlier this week I was talking about using some of the older but still current products that we tend to forget about when new things come out.  It is kind of like when waving new shiny things in front of you, you forget what you are doing.

Christmas Pines is another stamp set that is in the 2017/2018 Stamping’ Up! Annual Catalog that I had forgotten about.  It is a beautiful stamp set that has matching Thinlits called Pretty Pines.  I love these Thinlits because they make beautiful pine cones and sprigs of pine branches.  My next door neighbor is so talented and she has these on her windows of her house (for real).  They are just beautiful and I wish I was that talented.  I keep trying to get her to come decorate my house but she still hasn’t shown up!  She is an amazing gardener her.  I won’t even talk about what my gardens look like!  They are pathetic!

Daisy Delight

It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy and Jackie.  This time our challenge is to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our project.  We do this because, we are all hoarders and need to start using our DSP!

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  I also used the new 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party.  This ribbon is so beautiful.  It is hard to tell from the picture but it has a slight shimmer to it.  Gorgeous!  Lastly, I used the Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.  This paper has beautiful, soft colors such as Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made with their hoarded Designer Series Paper.

Santa’s Sleigh

Santa's Sleigh

I must admit I am having a hard time making Christmas cards when it is still 70 degrees out.  I guess if I lived in the South, this would be normal but since I live in the North, it just seems odd.

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly club meeting.  It uses a stamp set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  It is a cute set yet it is elegant with the sleigh pieces.  The sleigh is actually made from two different dies.  Other than the pieces we used for this card, this set also has a reindeer, a small wreath, teddy bear, bows and a few other shapes.  I know you can’t really tell from this picture but we also used the Wink Of Stella on the red part of the sleigh and the star to give it a little shine.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a stamp set that is a must have because it has every sentiment you can ever need!  The snow in the background is made from an Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.

Happy New Year & A Sneak Peek

Large Number Framelits, Party Punch Pack

Happy New Year everyone!  I used a couple of new products from the 2016 Occasions Catalog that comes out on January 5th to make this card.  The numbers are a new set of Framelits called Large Numbers Framelits.  They are awesome to use for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and New Years Day!  They have a matching stamp set called Number of Years, which I didn’t use for this card.  This set of Framelits is a must have set!

The little balloons are from a new punch pack called Party Punch Pack.  There are three punches in this set.  One is the little balloon I used.  There is also a tiny little cupcake and a birthday candle.  These punches also have a matching stamp set called Party Wishes.  You will love the new catalog!

Summer Silhouettes

Summer Silhouettes

Making a sympathy card is never a fun thing especially when you need to use one.  A good friend, who lives in Rome, Italy, lost a good friend so Rob and I wanted to send the husband a card letting him know we were thinking of him.  I made this card using the stamp set called Summer Silhouettes.  First, I stamped it in Black ink and then again in Versamark and embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  The I sponged So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe, Wisteria Wonder and Marina Mist (from the bottom to the top).  The parts that are embossed don’t pick up the colors of the ink.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Petite Petals Mother’s Day Card

Petite Petals

I made this card to send to my mother for Mother’s Day.  Usually when I send a card to my mom, I write inside it using a sticky note so she can use the card again (I do that with most of my cards so they can get recycled and sent to another person).  Last year, she called me and said how nice it was that I did that but I didn’t have to do it with a Mother’s Day card.  My mom is 89.  Her mother is no longer with us, so I guess she really does not have a need for it.  This year I will remember to write inside the card with the sticky note!

The flowers are from Petite Petals.  It has a matching punch also called Petite Petals and you can buy both in a Bundle and save 15%.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  That set has every possible sentiment you could want to make any card.  If I recommend any stamp set it would be Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also recommend buying it in Wood Mount.  The stamps themselves are very small and easy to lose.  If they were in Clear Mount, it would be even easier to lose one.   I used the Linen Thread and the embossing folder called Fancy Fan.  The arrow comes from the set of Framelits called On Film.

Happy Birthday Balloons & Free Shipping Starting Tomorrow

Teeny Tiny Wishes

Have you tried Pinterest yet?  You really need to go look at it.  Once you get there “follow” me.  All you need to do is put my name (Susan Horr) into the search bar and all my pins will come up.  I have a few different Boards on there.  One of them is called Susan Stamps and it is the Board I post all of the cards (and projects) I made.  You can also follow my other Boards.  I have a ton of recipes of meals and desserts and a few things I ran across for the home.  It is easy to do and it will give you a ton of ideas!

I got this idea for this card from there.  It is not exactly the same because I changed it a little from the original.  I thought it would make a terrific kids birthday card or even a masculine card.  Everyone likes balloons especially on their birthday.  I used the Extra Large Oval Punch to cut out the balloons and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The Designer Series Paper is called Kaleidoscope and is in the Occasions Catalog.

Shaving Cream Technique Card

Shaving Cream

At our Club meeting this last week we all had a fun time making this card using the Shaving Cream Technique.  It is kind of a different and fun thing to do and it is very easy.  You just spray some shaving cream into a dish and then drop some ink refill colors on top of it.  We used Pacific Point, Gumball Green, and Marina Mist ink refills to do this.  Then you take a toothpick or the end of a skinny paint brush and twirl the colors around.  Don’t mix it up too much or the colors will mix together and not stand out.  Then place your piece of cardstock on top of the shaving cream pushing it in a little.  Lift off the cardstock and wipe off the excess shaving cream.  You end up with a piece of cardstock that looks like this:

Shaving Cream Cardstock

You can dye four or five pieces of cardstock if you use a lot of shaving cream.  It is messy but so much fun.  You can make your own tie-dyed cardstock.  We used Teeny Tiny Wishes for our sentiment because it has so many choices.  Some used the Happy Easter sentiment while others used Happy Birthday.  The window was cut out using the Window Frames Collection Framelits and the lattice is a Big Shot die called Lattice Bigz.
