Longing For Sunshine

I suppose every place you live (well except maybe Hawaii) has its good weather and its bad weather.  Right now is the hardest time of year for us.  I don’t think I have seen the sun in weeks (or months) and it is very dreary.  Today it is pouring rain so the world is a big slushy, muddy mess.  Ask me again in July or August and I will have a whole different outlook.  It is so beautiful up here during the summer months.  I just wish they lasted longer!

This dreary weather made me think of Florida and wishing I was there.  It would be awesome to be sitting on the beach, under the tiki bar awning and having a Pina Colada.  The best I could do is come up with a card that represents that idea.

I made this card using a bunch of different products and stamp sets.  The glass is cut out of Color Theory Designer Series Paper using the Coffee Cups Framelits.  The umbrella is from Weather Together and Umbrella Weather Framelits.  The orange is from the stamp set called Lemon Zest and punched out using the matching Lemon Builder Punch.  The seagulls are from High Tide and last but not least, the sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  It just goes to show you that Stampin’ Up! products are great to mix and match!

Now let’s just hope for better weather soon!

Weather Together

Apparently there are other stamp companies out there!  Who knew!?!  I was on Pinterest the other day looking for ideas.  The great thing about Pinterest in you can put a stamp set into the search bar and it will show you hundreds thousands of cards made with that stamp set.  For some odd reason it showed me another company’s stamps that also had umbrellas.  This is where I got the layout for this card.  This is allowed in the stamping world.  It is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything). I thought it was cute although I like our umbrella set better and I changed it up quite a bit.

For this card I used the stamp set called Weather Together.  This set has matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather.  The sentiment is also from this set but I stamped it in two lines instead of one.  The Designer Series Paper I used is called Eastern Palace.

Weather Together

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting this month.  It uses the stamp set called Weather Together.  This stamp set has a matching set of Framelits called Umbrella Weather.  If you order them before the end of May you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Beginning June 1st, the Bundle price goes away.  The good news is that the stamps and Framelits will be in the new catalog (just not at the Bundle price).

Don’t forget the 2017 Occasions Catalog also ends on May 31st.  Although there are a lot of products in there that are carrying over, there are also a lot that are not.  Some of the retiring merchandise is already sold out.  You can click on my link to the right of this post to see what is retiring.  If you want something from that list you better order it soon or it will be gone forever!

The other day we had the most amazing thunder and lightening storms.  We don’t usually get them in February so it was kind of crazy.  When I woke up the air temperature was 52 degrees.  That alone is unusual.  As the morning went on, it got even warmer.  All of a sudden around noon, the skies got very, very dark.  It got so dark we had to turn the lights on.  We could hear the wind getting closer (we live in the woods so we could hear it) and then it started pouring.  I mean POURING.  It was a little scary but fun to watch.

In any case, I thought it was appropriate to post this card using the stamp set called Weather Together.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather and you can save 10% by purchasing in a bundle.  It is a fun set and has some really nice sentiments.

Of course, you would not be able to use an umbrella today because you might end up a couple of miles away!

Weather Together

Weather Together, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Here is a very quick and simple card using the stamp set called Weather Together.  This set is in the Annual Catalog and has a set of matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather.  Obviously,  this stamp set could be used for a wedding or baby shower but it also could be used for other occasions such as get well, or thinking of you or even a sympathy card.  The Framelits make it adorable.

Speaking of showers, have I told you yet that I am going to have another grand daughter?  I am so excited.  Emory Jade is due to arrive in March (actually March 4th which is Rob’s birthday).  I am not sure where all these girls are coming from since I only had boys but either one is really fine with me.  I get to buy girl things for Madelyn and now for Emory.  Now all I have to do is get Zachary and Mary (Emory’s parents) to move closer to me because Alabama is just too far away!

Weather Together

Have I mentioned lately that Stampin’ Up! has a ton of new stamp sets with matching Framelits/Thinlits in the 2016/2017 Annual Catalog?  I know.  I have probably mentioned every day but it is so true.  This catalog is one of my most favorite catalogs they have ever put out.  As you know, I really do not like to cut things out by hand so any set that comes with something to cut the stamps out is awesome in my book!

I used a new stamp set called Weather Together to make this simple card.  Of course, it has a set of matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather and you can buy both in a bundle and save 10%.  The cool thing about the set of Framelits is you can cut out borders on your umbrellas.  I didn’t do it with this card, but I will show you in the near future.  It is adorable!  Stay Tuned!

Fab Friday Sketch

FabFri91

The web site Fab Friday has a fun sketch challenge this week so I decided to participate.  I always look for sketch challenges when I am stuck creating.  For me, it is the best way to get myself back on track.  I like Fab Friday because the sketches are usually CAS (clean and simple) which is how I normally stamp.

Weather Together

I used the stamp set called Weather Together to make this card.  This set has matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather and you can save 10% if you buy them in a Bundle.  The Designer Series Paper is called Blooms & Bliss.  Speaking of Designer Series Paper, have you looked at this year’s choices?  They are all awesome!

Weather Together & Dies

The 2016/2017 Stampin’ Up! catalog has a lot of awesome products.  I am sure you are going to hear that from me a lot this year.  I truly believe it is one of the best catalogs they have put out ever.

There is a stamp set called Weather Together that also has matching Framelits called Umbrella Weather.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle.  The stamp set itself, is pretty self-explanatory but the dies may need a little explanation.  Here is a video that Stampin’ Up! made showing how to use these fabulous products.
