Ornate Garden Suite

In the last couple of weeks I have shown you cards I received from a swap with my class members and Downline.  This is the card I made to send to them.  It uses products from the Ornate Garden Suite that will be in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  This suite contains two stamp sets, two sets of dies, Designer Series Paper, ribbon and embellishments.  It is the suite that is available for everyone to buy now (before the catalog actually comes out).

To make this card, I first stamped the flower from the Ornate Style stamp set using Memento Black Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I colored the middle of the flower using a Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends and the leaves using a Mint Macaron Blends.  Then I cut it out using a die from the Stitched Rectangles dies set.  I backed that with a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock I had cut out using the Ornate Layers Dies.  These dies are gorgeous and very intricate.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Ornate Thanks and cut that out using the Stitched Rectangles.  The Designer Series Paper is called Ornate Garden Specialty Paper.  I added a piece of Mint Macaron 1/4″ Textile Ribbon.  This ribbon is retiring on June 2nd. I decided at the last minute to add the little Basic Adhesive Backed Sequin to the corner.

Swaps Part II

Last week I shared some of the swaps I received from friends.  I thought I would share the rest of them today.

This first card is from Debby.  Debby is a great Clean and Simple (CAS) stamper.  She has a great eye for colors and placement.  I always look forward to seeing her cards.  I love the Designer Series Paper she used.  Unfortunately, it is retired or I would buy it!

Karen made this next card.  Karen is one of my Downline.  Karen and I used to belong to another group of stampers that met once a week.  Each of the participants would design a card for the others to make.  We used to have to take products away from Karen because she would add one and then another and then another……  We would laugh about this.  Karen kept this card simple though and it is beautiful.  She used some Sale-a-bration products on her card.  I love the colors.

Lynette, another Downline of mine, made this card. She used some retired note cards for the card base which I love.  Then she added the splash of color which looks great with the soft background.  It is a simple card but so pretty.  I think the label she used is from a kit and I love the font of her sentiment.

Laura made this next card.  Laura is an amazing stamper.  She has been stamping a lot longer than I have and she has a great eye for colors and placement.  She likes to keep it simple yet beautiful too.  She has a lot of customers and businesses that hire her to make cards for them because they are so gorgeous.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these cards made for our sways as much as I did receiving them.  Each one is so different, yet so beautiful.  I hope we can continue swapping cards every month or so.

Fun Swaps

My monthly stamping group has been unable to meet the past few months due to my moving and the pandemic so we decided to do a swap with each other.  There were nine of us who participated and we decided to use the theme of “thank you” cards.  I thought that was fitting considering the times.  Here are a few of the swaps I received.  I will show you more in a later post.

This first card was made by Karin.  Karin is a friend, previous class member and now a Downline of mine.  A Downline is someone who signed up to be a Stampin’ Up!®  Demonstrator under me (which means I am her Upline).  She made this beautiful fun fold card using the stamp set called Sailing Home and the matching dies called Smooth Sailing.  If you purchase these together in a bundle you can save 10% until June 2nd.  After that the products will be available but not at the discounted price.

This next card was made by Sharon.  Sharon is the newest member of our group and has caught on really quickly.  She make this beautiful card using the stamp set called Painted Poppies and some Peaceful Poppy Elements.  Both of these products are in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog.

Renee made this next card and it is just gorgeous!  It is a vintage looking card (which is something I can not do at all).  I can’t recall the name of the stamp set Renee used because everything I own is packed away but it is a beautiful set.

This is Carol’s card. Carol has been a member of our class for a while now and truly makes beautiful cards.   This one is so cute and is a great card to send to someone to cheer them up. Carol used the stamp set called Weather Together with the matching dies.  This bundle is retired and is still one of my favorites!

Come back and visit me next week when I show you the next set of swaps I received.  They are all spectacular too!

Serene Silhouettes Swap Card

DSC02002

I made this card for a swap I am participating in.  A swap is where everyone who participates makes a card for everyone who is participating.  Then I will get a card from each of them.  If 10 people are participating, I will make 10 cards and receive 10 different cards.  It is a fun way to get new ideas and to also meet new people online.

My card uses  the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.  It also uses a stamp that I designed myself called Circle Monogram.  It is a Photopolymer Stamp from Stampin’ Up!  It is very easy and fun to make.  When you order this set, a window pops up and you just put in what you want the stamp to say.  It is a one of a kind stamp!  Fun!

Joyful Christmas Swap

Christine's Swap

Christine’s Swap

One of the  most awesome swaps I got from the Stampin Up! Convention was made by my friend, Christine.  The picture of it is beautiful but if you could just see it in person, you would be awed.  Christine used the stamp set called Joyful Christmas that is in the Holiday Catalog.  She used Silver Embossing Powder for the poinsettia and the sentiment on Vellum Card Stock.  Then she put a Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the middle of the flower.  It is gorgeous!  The Designer Series Paper is called Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper and has Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cobana, Island Indigo, Pool Party and Smoky Slate.  The colors are beautiful together.

You can order all these items from the Holiday Catalog.

Convention Swaps

One thing demonstrators do at the Stampin Up! Convention is swap.  This is where you make a ton of the same card and “swap” it for cards that other demonstrators had made.  Some people go crazy and make tons of swaps.  I ran into one woman who made 650 swaps!  Unfortunately she decided to mail them ahead to her hotel and the hotel lost them  She was very upset (no doubt!) so I gave her one of my swaps anyway so she could at least get a few to take home. I showed you my swap on THIS POST.  I only had time to make about 30 swaps and they were gone in about 15 minutes.  Six thousand demonstrators, mostly swapping, was a sight to behold!  Here are some pictures of the beautiful swaps I received.

2013 Stampin Up! Convention Swap

Six Sided Sampler

Six Sided Sampler

Obviously I am writing this before today because right now I am in Salt Lake City at the Stampin Up! Convention.  I thought you might like to see my swap card.  Demonstrators from all over the world are here and everyone brings a card to swap.  It is a little hectic but a lot of fun.  I will come home with a ton of ideas for new cards to show you.

I  made my card using the stamp set called Six Sided Sampler.  It has a matching Hexagon Punch and you can get them both in a Bundle and save 15%.  I also used the Hello from the set called Four You.  It has become one of my favorites.

Another Swap

This next card was made by Buffy Cooper and it is absolutely beautiful.  The Background was embossed with the folder called Vintage Wallpaper.  The Very Vanilla in the center was embossed with the Fancy Fan Folder.  Buffy then used the Designer Series Paper called Tea For Two from the Occasions Catalog and cut it out with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets L.  Then to top it all off she embossed the circle from the stamp set called Collage Curios with Silver Embossing Powder and stamp the flower from this set in the middle.

Leadership MDS Swap

One of the swaps I received at Leadership was a card made with My Digital Studio. I think it is so cute so I wanted to share it with you. It is from a digital download posted on January 8th.

More Christmas Swaps

This card I got from another demonstrator named Christine Guida who lives in New Hampshire.  I am not sure if you can tell up close but the snowflake background and the snow on the roof of the house are full of sparkles.  The sleigh is embossed in Cherry Cobbler.  The card has such a softness to it.  Beautiful!

Christmas Card From Christine

The next swap I got was made by Stephanie Osgood.  Stephanie used the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  I love that it uses different colors than the usual red and green.  Very pretty!
