This week the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge was given to us by Jean.  Jean wanted us to make a CAS (Clean and Simple) masculine card.  Here is the picture she gave us to go by:

Masculine Dec 9

Isn’t it a cute picture??  Here is the card I made for this challenge:

Guy Greetings, Work Of Art

I used a couple of different stamp sets for this card.  The anchor came from Guy Greetings.  Guy Greetings is the perfect set to use for a masculine card.  It is one of those sets that I will keep forever because it is so good for this.  Another nice thing about that set is it comes in Wood Mount, Clear Mount and Photopolymer!  The “waves” are really the chevron stamp from Work Of Art.

It is that time of the week again for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge was brought to us by me!  It is a sketch challenge and here it is:

Dec 2

Here is my card:

Sea Street, WWC45

There are two reasons why I chose to use Sea Street in this challenge.  One is because I needed a break from making Christmas Cards but the main reason is because I have a ton of family and friends who have December birthdays.  Their biggest complaint is people give them birthday gifts wrapped in Christmas paper and Christmas themed cards.  On one hand, they should be grateful to get birthday gifts (Ha!) but on the other hand, I would probably agree with them if I had a December birthday.

Now check out the other Watercooler Artist’s creations HERE.  They made some awesome things!

This week’s Watercooler Challenge was given to us by Jackie.  It is a sketch challenge.  Here is what it looks like.

Here is my card:

Acorny Thank You

I decided to use a stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Acorny Thank You.  I just bought this set after seeing so many beautiful creations using it.  The thing I love about it is it has a matching punch and you can save 15% by purchasing both.  I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the White Glitter Ribbon that is also in the catalog.  I love this ribbon because it has so much sparkle!

Hello again!  It is Watercooler Wednesday once again!  This time the challenge was given to us by Heidi.  She gave us an “Anything Goes” challenge except that you had to use some kind of holly in your creation.  Here is my card:

Peaceful Wreath, Festive Flower Punch, WWC40

The only stamp set I own that has holly in it is the stamp set called Peaceful.  That set has a holly wreath as well as the holly sprigs I used.  The poinsettia in the middle was made using the new Festive Flower Builder Punch.  It was so easy to do!  You can watch the video below to see how to make it.

Today’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is a color challenge by me!  When I do color challenges I like to even challenge myself and believe me, it was a challenge to put these colors together!

Watercooler Wednesday WWC38-001

The best stamp set to use when you have some colors that you have no idea how to use together is Work Of Art.  You can do anything with this set!  Plus, who wouldn’t want to get a card that says “You are a fabulous work of art?!?Work Of Art, WWC39Now it is your turn to create something using these colors.  Check out the other Watercooler Artist’s creations and upload your work of art HERE.

It is Watercooler Wednesday again!  Today’s challenge is brought to us by Buffy.  She gave us a Tic Tac Toe challenge.

TicTacToe-001

To participate in this challenge you need to choose a line.  You can choose a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line and make a card, scrapbook page or 3D item (or anything else you wish) using all the items in that line.  You can use more than what is in the line but you have to have everything in the line included.

Delicate Ornaments

I chose the line that has Gold (the sentiment and Cord), Die Cut (the sentiment and the Delicate Ornaments) and Heat Embossing for my (“Christmas”) card.  I also added dry embossing because I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for the background.

You can see the other creations if you click HERE.  Now go and make an item using the Tic Tac Toe board above and link it to our website.  Maybe you will be the next person to Rock the Watercooler!

It is that time again for a Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This time it is a sketch challenge given to us by Jackie.  Here is the sketch:

Jackie Watercooler sketch Feb 2015

Here is my card:

Winter Wishes

I used the stamp set called Winter Wishes.  It is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  I like this set because it is a little old fashioned.  It has skates, skis, a snowshoe and a sled.  I used the Designer Series paper called Merry Moments which is also in the Holiday Catalog.

Now it is your turn.  Make a project using this sketch and then post it to our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge web site by clicking HERE.  You can also see all the other wonderful artist’s creations using this sketch.

Today is another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This time the challenge is to make a 3D project of your choosing.

Square Pillow Box, Vintage Leaves

I decided to make a pillow box using the Square Pillow Box Die.  The difference is, this pillow box is larger than the usual box but is very easy to make.  It is 7 1/4 ” long instead of 4 1/2″.   The ‘Thanks” is one of the Expressions Natural Elements.  I pressed it into a Mossy Meadow ink pad to color it.

Here is a little tutorial on how to make a box this size.

Take one piece of 8 1/4″ by 5″ cardstock and lay it on the Magnetic Platform.  I liked using the Magnetic Platform instead of the normal one because it holds the Thinlit in place.  Make sure the Square Pillow Box Thinlit is right up and one side of the cardstock and the top of the cardstock as shown below (the black arrows are there to show you what I am talking about).

Then lay your second plate partially over the die.  Make sure you line it up as shown in the photo above.  The die will not cut where there isn’t a plate.

DSC02898

Now run it through the Big Shot this way.  Your cardstock will look like this after it is cut.

DSC02899

Now flip your cardstock around and do the exact same thing making sure to line up one edge of your die with the edge of the cardstock as shown in the photo.

DSC02900

Lay your plate partially over the die as shown and then run it through the Big Shot.

DSC02901

You cardstock will look like this  You might have to cut a little bit where the arrows are with your Paper Snips.

DSC02902

You need to do this twice so you have two pieces of cardstock.  Then just put your Pillow Box together the same way you normally would.

You can see the other Watercooler Wednesday artist’s project HERE.  You can also make your own project to share with the rest of us by linking up at the bottom of the page.

Today is another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Day.  This time the challenge was given to us by Marsha and it was an “Anything Goes” challenge.  That means we can doing anything.  You can make a card, 3D project, scrapbook page or whatever you wish.  It is not too hard of a challenge because I pretty much make anything goes every day.

Curvy Corner Punch, Winter Wishes

I decided to make a photo Christmas card using merchandise from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  Of course, I had to put Madelyn in the photo card. The Designer Series Paper is called Merry Moments.  I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch for the frame around the photo.  The holly leaves were made from die in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits and the berries were punched using the Cupcake Punch.

Now you can make an “Anything Goes” project and post it to our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge web site HERE.  It is not too hard.  Just make anything!

This week’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is brought to you by Jean.  Jean gave us a color challenge but it had to be and ombre color challenge.  Ombre is where the colors are similar but you go from light to dark (or dark to light) of different shades of the same color.  I decided to use Stampin’ Up’s blues as my colors.

Sheltering Tree, Ombre

I used Soft Sky, Pool Party, Marina Mist and Island Indigo for my colors.  The splotches and the sentiment are from the stamp set called Sheltering Tree.  To cut the arch, I just used a platter and quickly cut it with a sharp blade. The nice thing about Photopolymer stamps is you can bend them a little to match the curve.

Check out the other Watercooler Wednesday Artist’s creations HERE.  Don’t forget to join in and link up your creation using the ombre technique.  Maybe you will be the Artist of the week winner!
