Last weekend we went to a wedding in Lake George, New York. The wedding itself was beautiful, although it did rain the entire day but the bride and the groom were so happy no one even noticed. Anyway, another amazing thing about the weekend, besides the wedding, was the beautiful fall colors we saw everywhere. It was not really “Peak” weekend but it was pretty close. We drove alone the bottom edge of the Adirondack Park to get there. There were spectacular scenes of little streams with bright colors of red, orange and yellow leaves. It truly was beautiful. For those that don’t know, there is so much more to New York than New York City!

A New England Fall
I took a break from making Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards the past few days but now I am back on track. I already used the Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Holiday Home for a “Caribbean” card a couple of weeks ago. This time I am making a Fall New England home card. I used the medium Night of Navy Blendabilities to color the house this New England Blue. Of course, you have to have a red door if you live in the Northeast. The trees actually came from the Photopolymer Stamp Set called White Christmas because the size of them fit better with this card than the tree that came with the Holiday Home Set.
A Moonlit White Christmas
I think Stampin’ Up! has really offered a terrific holiday collection of stamps in their Holiday Catalog. I had a really hard time picking a few of them out and every time I open the catalog I end up buying something else. One of my favorites is the stamp set called White Christmas. I have shown you a few different cards using this set. The thing I like about it is it can be a fun set with the snowman and the bear but it can also be a beautiful and soft set with the snow falling and the deer.
I embossed the trees on this card using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. Then I just punched a circle out of a piece of paper and then sponged the moon using Hello Honey.
Merry Christmas Club Card
This is one of the cards we did at our monthly club meeting. It uses a Photopolymer Stamp Set from the Holiday Catalog called White Christmas. The great thing about Photopolymer Stamps is that they are clear so you can see exactly where you need to stamp. The car on this card is a different stamp than the tree and it was so easy to perfectly line it up.
We also used Blendabilities to color in some of the items on this card. Blendabilities are so easy to use and they don’t streak like regular markers do. Can you see how smooth the blue in the car is? They also have one tip that is large and one that is small so it is easy to color small spaces without going out of the lines. Too bad we didn’t have these when we were in kindergarten!
White Christmas
I hate to point this out but there are only 117 days left until Christmas! That is a pretty scary thought. Not only will it be Christmas but it will also be winter and I certainly don’t look forward to that!
Here is my first Christmas card of the season. It uses a Photopolymer Stamp Set that is in the Holiday Catalog called (appropriately) White Christmas. The set has thirteen stamps in it. I love the trees the best but it also has a cute station wagon with a tree that can go on top. The nice thing about Photopolymer is you can line up the stamps because they are clear. They also stick really well the the Stampin’ Up! Clear blocks.
If you look closely you will also see the little snowflake sequin that is also in the Holiday Catalog. You get 450 different sequins in this snowflake shape and two different sized silver round sequins.
White Christmas For Freshly Made Sketches
Here is a bunch of sneak peeks from the Holiday Catalog! I used the card layout from Freshly Made Sketches. Here is this week’s sketch:
I used a new Photopolymer Stamp Set called White Christmas that will be in the Holiday Catalog that comes out on August 28th. The Designer Series Paper is also in the Holiday Catalog and it is called All Is Calm. The paper is absolutely beautiful and uses the colors Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon and Soft Sky. You are going to love it. Did you see the silver sequins? They are also in the Holiday Catalog. I think this catalog is the best one ever! It has awesome products in it and offers a little bit of everything for everyone’s taste.
