A Touch Of Ink

Stampin Up A Touch Of Ink

One of the things I love at my cottage on Lake Ontario and my backyard in Tennessee is my Hummingbird feeder.  I love watching the Hummingbirds come to it all day.  They are such a funny bird.  They are tiny and their wings beat so fast they are just a blur.  I love that they fight with each other, gibber jabber and chase each other around.  They are just so much fun to watch.

I have had numerous Hummingbird feeders in my lifetime and I finally found one that is great!  It is easy to clean, easy to fill and you don’t have to go out periodically to shake the food down.  If you are interested click HERE for the link.  By the way, if you love to feed the Hummingbirds, don’t buy the red stuff in the store.  They don’t need red food.  They are drawn to the red feeder. The red food is not good for them and it is really easy to make your own.  It is just 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of sugar.  I double the recipe every time in order to fill the feeder.   You mix it together and boil it on the stove for a few minutes.  Just make sure you let it cool before putting it out.  My next door neighbor had a feeder that was filled with the red stuff.  The Hummingbirds never went to her feeder and came to mine so it must also taste better.  Shhhh.  Don’t tell her.  I don’t want my Hummingbirds to go to her feeder!

A Touch of Ink is a new stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021 Sale-a-bration Catalog.  This month you can get this stamp set for FREE with a qualifying order.  I love it because of the Hummingbird.  You already know how I feel about butterflies so I try to ignore that image but the bird, leaves and flowers are adorable.  Plus it has nice sentiments with it.

To make this card I used a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog and you can get for FREE with a qualifying order.  I stamped the flowers and leaves first so I would know where to place the Hummingbird.  I stamped that in Memento Black Ink and colored it using my Blends.  Then I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies that are in the Annual Catalog.
