Here’s A Card

Here’s A Card is a new stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It is a sentiment only stamp set that has sentiments for the outside and inside of your cards.  I love the different fonts it uses because they are simple and elegant.

To make this card I first cut a strip of the new Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper in the Blueberry Bushel Color.  This DSP is amazing.  It is bright and shiny and comes in great patterns.  I also cut two small strips from the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets in Old Olive and put them on either side of the first strip I cut.  You can mix and match both of these packs of paper because they use the same colors.  The Specialty paper has a pattern and the Foil Sheets are plain.

Then I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I layered that with an oval cut using the Layering Ovals Dies and an Old Olive Foil Sheet.  Lastly I cut the leaves out using the Animal Friends Dies.

Last week my son, Sam and his wife, Tara, and two of my grandchildren Madelyn and Nolan  spent a week with us at the cottage.  We had so much fun.  We spent a lot of time in the water swimming, boating and jet skiing but also took a day and went to Old McDonald’s Farm and Boldt Castle.  Here are some pictures to share with you.

Animal Outing And Last Day For Online Extravaganza

The Animal Expedition Suite is in the 2018 Annual Catalog.  The best thing about this Suite are the dies called Animal Friends.  They cut out the stamp shapes, of course but they also cut out the matching Designer Series Paper called Animal Expedition.  I love that Stampin’ Up!® has starting doing this with a lot of their products.

To make this card I first cut out all three pieces of the Designer Series Paper.  You have to cut them out all at once or they won’t match up when you layer them on top of cardstock.  Then I cut out the Giraffe from the DSP using the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the sentiment and used two dies from Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut it out.  Lastly I had to put the googly eye on the giraffe for my friend, Lynette.

More Animal Outing

Animal Outing is one of the stamp sets I received for free when I went to a Stampin’ Up!® event called OnStage.  I think I left that day with 4 free stamp sets, a couple of Blends and a bunch of embellishments.  That is one of the best perks (among many) that demonstrators get.  You also get a great discount on your purchases and you can order products before anyone else.  If you are interested in finding out more, just let me know or click on the Join Now button to the right of this post.

Animal Outing has a set of matching Thinlits called Animal Friends.  The great thing about these dies is they cut out the stamped images but they also cut out some of the images from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper!  That is what I did to make this card.  All the animal images were on the DSP.  The only stamping I did on this card was the sentiment.

As a side note, I have a Downline and friend, Lynnette.  She loves the Animal Outing set.  The only thing is, she loves to add googly eyes to the animals.  I should send her this card so she could add them.  The animals all have their eyes closed so a set of googly eyes would be perfect!

Animal Outing

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last night.  We used the stamp set called Animal Outing.  I got this set for free at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage in April.  OnStage is a convention that only Demonstrators can go to.  It is so much fun and you get a lot of free merchandise when you go.  Right now Stampin’ Up! is having a special when you join.  For $99 you get to choose $125 worth of any current products AND you also get ten free ink pads!  That is a $75 value alone!  Click on the Join Now button to the right of this post.

Animal Outing has matching Framelits called Animal Friends and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

I know this card looks pretty plain and simple but it has a fun aspect to it that you can’t really see from the picture.  First, we stamps the Rhino in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock.  Then we stamped just the head of the Rhino onto another piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and cut it out using the Animal Friends Framelits.

Now the fun part!  We attached the head of the Rhino to the body using a Mini Spring I purchased online. It has adhesive on the top and the bottom and it makes the head wiggle when you touch it.  The Mini Spring looks like this:

The Designer Series Paper we used is called Nature’s Poem.  Remember during the month of July you can buy three Designer Series Paper packs and get one free.
