Oh My Goodies & Project Life

Oh My Goodies, PLxSU

Thirty one years ago I married Rob.  Wow it is hard to believe how time has flown.  I know people say that all the time but honestly it is true.  Together we have three wonderful boys (who are now men) and one daughter in law, all of whom we are very proud of.  It has been a great 31 years and I would do it all over again if given the chance.  I did make Rob a card but I decided not to post it today.  Sometimes I just have to keep things between the two of us.

Today’s card is made with a new stamp set called Oh My Goodies.  I know.  It is a very weird name and a very weird sentiment but I love it anyway.  There are four stamps in this set that go with the Deco Labels Framelits.  The stamp I used is one of my favorite from the set.

The background is one of the cards from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Collection.  I have used quite a number of these cards as backgrounds and I particularly love this set because of the bright colors.  Everyone know Bermuda Bay with either Daffodil Delight or in this case, Crushed Curry, is one of my favorite combinations.  All you need to do is look at my blog header to realize this!

Happy Anniversary, Onion.  I love you the most!

You & Me Banner Blast

DSC01889

This is the last card we made at our February Stamp Club Meeting.  There are so many new products in this card as well as some you can get for FREE!  The tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  This is a great punch because you can make the tag as big or small as you wish.  The punch only cuts out the top.  The You & Me stamp is from Perfect Pennants, which is in the Stampin Up! Occasion Catalog.  The little banners are from Banner Blast which you can get for FREE with a $50 order.  The banners are punched out with the Banner Punch which is another item you can get for FREE with a $50 order.  If you order $100 you can get both!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time!  Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase!  Get an extra $30 in Hostess Benefits with a $300 workshop (or order)!  Join my Stampin Up! family and get an extra $25 with your starter kit!

Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

FebruarySaleabrationBlogHop
Welcome to my first ever blog hop!  For those of you who do not know what a blog hop is, it is where a group of Stampin Up! demonstrators make projects based on a theme and the viewer goes from blog to blog to see everyone’s projects.  You probably just came from Jean’s amazing blog.  Her projects are always gorgeous!

Why the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop?  If you are a Stampin Up! demonstrator you have access to a forum called Stampin Connection where only demonstrators can enter.  On that forum is a thread called the Wacky Women’s Watercooler.  It is basically a thread where we talk about anything and everything (except business!).  The demonstrators who go there the most decided to do a blog hop a few months ago.  I could never participate because I was usually out of town on the dates they picked but this time I am home and here (although a little nervous!).

This hop’s theme is about the products in the Sale-a-bration and Occasions Catalogs.  The first card I made is a wedding card.  You could probably use it for just about any holiday or event (well maybe not a masculine birthday card).  Just change the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it becomes whatever you want.  The card uses the Spiral Flower Originals Die that is in the Occasions Catalog.  It is so easy to make a flower using this die.  It is a Bigz die so you can cut up to 4 pieces of cardstock at a time.  I didn’t have a black brad so I decided to dip a brad from Antique Brads in Versamark and then Black Embossing Powder and heated it up with my Heat Tool.  The Designer Series Paper is called Modern Medley and is in the Annual Catalog.

The next project(s) I made used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch which is in the Occasion Catalog.  I actually saw this technique on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  I had to figure out how to make it but it wasn’t hard to do.  If you look closely, the “tag toppers” are all one piece with the card.  Of course, I decorated it differently then the card I saw, making it my own.  I actually made two of them, one has the tabs on the side and one has them in the middle.  Both cards use the Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog called Sweet Sorbet. You can’t buy this paper but you can get it for free with a qualifying purchase.  I love the colors of this paper.  I used the stamp sets called Perfect Pennants and Chalk Talk for these cards.

The last card I made uses the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Banner Blast and the matching Banner Punch.  You can not purchase these items right now but you can get them for free with a qualifying purchase.  The card also uses the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  By the way, the Banner Punch and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder will be available for purchase in the 2014/2015 Annual Catalog that comes out in June but you can only earn the Banner Blast Stamp Set through a qualifying purchase.  The Birthday Wishes stamp is from Four You.

Banner Blast Valentine

DSC01884

Apparently I have been calling “my style” the wrong thing.  I always thought I was CAS (Clean and Simple) but I guess that means no layers at all.  Just a card with some stamping on it.  The category I should label myself in is CAL (Clean and Layered).  You learn something new everyday!

I made this card using the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Banner Blast.  The little “love” banner is included in this set.  You can get it for FREE with a $50 order during Stampin Up’s Sale-a-bration.  It even has a matching punch (aptly names Banner Punch) that you could also earn free.  Click on the Sale-a-bration catalog picture on the right side of my blog to see what other products you can get for FREE!

Simple Gold Sale-A-Bration Valentine

DSC01854

Sometimes simple is better.  At least it is if you are a CAS (Clean and Simple) stamper like me!  I like the clean look.  I also like the vintage look but just can’t manage to make it look right so I stick with what I know.

This white on white Valentine uses the stamp set called Delightful Dozen.  This is a great stamp set because it has a greeting for just about any holiday or theme you might need.  It includes a greeting for birthday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Get Well and, of course, Valentine’s Day (and more!).  I always recommend this set, especially for a beginner stamper who doesn’t have much because it covers everything.

I embossed the sentiment and the banners with Gold Embossing Powder.  The banners are a stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  You can get it free with a $50 purchase.  It has the a matching punch too!
