Next week my entire family will be going to the Outer Banks for a family reunion/anniversary celebration of Rob and I being married 40 years. First let me say that it doesn’t seem possible that it was 40 years ago but it was. The exciting part though, is that it will be the first time in a very long time that all of my sons, their wives and our grandchildren will be together. Some of the grandchildren have not even met the others (mostly due to their ages) and I am very excited that will happen. We are going to have a photographer to take photos on the beach of all of us. I am sure I will have lots of photos and news to share when we get back.
The card I made could be used for a birthday or an anniversary celebration. I used a new suite from the Annual Catalog called Bright & Beautiful. It includes the stamp set and dies called Beautiful Balloons, Bright and Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and Gold Celebrations 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.
To make this card I first adhered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP to an Azure Afternoon card base. Next, I cut out a piece of Basic White card stock using the Radiating Stitches dies. I stamped the three balloons in Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lolly ink and then cut them out using the coordinating die. I stamped the ballon strings in Berry Burst ink and then layered the balloons on top using Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals.
Next, I used the die set called Wanted To Say for the sentiment and stars. The stars cut out a bunch of stars that are all attached so I just cut them apart. I love this new die set because it cuts out the words as well as the background for the words.
