Beautiful Friendship & Many Messages

Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship Many Messages

Beautiful Friendship is still one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2020 2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  The flowers included in it are just so pretty.  Plus they are DisINKtive stamps which means that one stamp is used to give an image dimension or depth.  If you look at the Hydrangeas on my card you can see how some of the flowers are light and some are dark.  This was done by just one stamp.

I used my Stamparatus to help me make this card.  I first place a piece of 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock in my Stamparatus and then lined up the Hydrangea stamp to be in the upper right corner.  I inked the stamp using Seaside Spray ink and stamped it once.  Then I flipped my card stock 180 degrees, inked up the Hydrangea  again and stamped it so it would be in the lower left corner.  I started to do the same thing with the Highland Heather flowers but decided it looked too uniform and ended up adding extra flowers and the Pear Pizzazz leaves by hand.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Many Messages.  This is one big stamp and has a matching die called Messages that cuts all the sentiments outs at one time.  I actually have thought about cutting all the sentiment apart to use separately but haven’t done that yet.  It is really hard for me to cut a stamp apart!  The good part of not cutting it apart is now I have a container of lots of sentiment strips ready to use.  The bad part is I now have a container of lots of sentiment strips to use!

I wrapped the card stock with a piece of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.  I love this ribbon because it has sparkles in it and is so pretty.  Then I added three Elegant Faceted Gems.

Don’t forget if you love Seaside Spray as much as I do, make sure you order the card stock, ink pad and ink refill before it is gone forever.  It is one of the retiring InColors and once the products are gone, they are gone forever.  As a reminder the other colors retiring this year are Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile and Purple Posy.

Beautiful Friendship

Beautiful Friendship is one of my favorite stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  I was so happy when I found out that it was not going to retire with our last catalog.  It is just gorgeous and I use it often.  It is part of the Stampin Up DisINKtive line of stamps.  These stamps create different opacities for depth and make the images look almost 3D.  There are a lot of two step stamp sets that can do this but these are different because you just use one stamp.  If you look at my card you can see where the Hydrangea has light blue and dark blue petals.  This is what these stamps do.  I love them!

The colors I used for this card are So Saffron, Seaside Spray, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Highland Heather.  To make it I used my Stamparatus.  I put a piece of Whisper White cardstock on the SAR and placed a flower stamp where I wanted it to go.  Then I closed the top which picked up the stamp, inked it and stamped it.  I turned the piece of cardstock 180 and did the same thing again so each image was stamped twice on each side of the cardstock.  There was a little overlap with the So Saffron flower but my sentiment strip covered it.  I cut out the word Happy with the Word Wishes Dies in Basic Black cardstock.  The birthday sentiment was from the stamp set called Here’s A Card.  I covered the word happy with some tape, inked the stamp and then pulled the tape off.  This way only the word birthday had ink on it.  This technique is called masking.

Beautiful Friendship

I received this beautiful card from my Upline, Julia a couple of weeks ago.  In the Stampin’ Up!® world an Upline is the person who you signed up under when becoming a Demonstrator.  When I signed up under her, I became her Downline.  Who knew that the world of Stamping has their own language!

Julia used one of my favorite stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  It is called Beautiful Friendship.  I think she stamped the flowers in Rococo Rose, the centers in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves in Old Olive.  Isn’t it just gorgeous?  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Dress To Impress and is in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog.  She stamped it in Cherry Cobbler ink and then punched it out using the Timeless Label Punch.  She added a piece of 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon in Rococo Rose and a few Iridescent Sequins.

When is the last time you sent someone a card?  During these tough times where everyone is home and practicing social distancing, it would be a great time to let someone know you are thinking about them.  Make them a card and mail it!  It will bring someone great joy!

Isn’t it just gorgeous?  Thanks, Julia.  It was such a nice surprise to receive!

Beautiful Friendship

I made this birthday card for a very good friend, Darena who also happens to be one of my downline and lives in Georgia.  That is one of my favorite things about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  I have met so many people I would never have met and have made the most wonderful friendships.  Darena used to live in my area but when she was here we never actually met.  Her husband is in the military so they moved around a lot but we finally got to meet in Florida when her family was stationed there and I went there on vacation.  It was so nice to actually meet after a few years of emailing back and forth.

This card is about as simple as you can get.  I used the stamp set called Beautiful Friendship.  I thought it was fitting for my friendship with Darena.  I first stamped the flowers in So Saffron ink and then added a little Calypso Coral to the middle using a Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I stamped the leaves in Old Olive a couple of times without re-inking.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays.

I hope you had an awesome birthday, Darena.

Beautiful Friendship

Hello everyone.  Today’s BS & J Productions challenge is a color challenge.  I love color challenges!

I love Pretty Peacock  but never thought to put it with Mint Macaron and Blueing Bride but I love how they look together.  Here is my card:

To make this card I used the stamp set called Beautiful Friendship.  This set is in the Stampin’ Up!®  2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  This set is a DisInktive stamp set which is a patent pending stamp set that shows depth by having the images stamp lighter and darker in different places.  I love the Hydrangea image in this set (Hydrangeas are my favorite flower).  If you look at the image you can see how some of it stamps darker and some is lighter.

I first stamped the Hydrangea in Blushing Bride and then cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies.  Then I ran a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock through my die cut and embossing machine using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and cut that out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I stamped the leaves from the stamp set called Painted Harvest and punched them out using the Leaf Punch.  Lastly, I colored one of the hearts from the Heart Epoxy Droplets using my Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin Blends.  The Designer Series Paper is from the 6″ x 6″ Subtles Designer Series Paper packs.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these colors.

Stitched Lace Dies

These are two more cards we made at my monthly stamp class.  I wanted to show them different ways to use the same product. In these examples I used the Stitched Lace Dies.

To make the top card I first cut out the background panel using the large background die in this set with Purple Posy cardstock.  Then I used the edge die to cut the bottom off.  You will need the piece you cut off to make the second card.  I adhered this onto a Gorgeous Grape card base using Multipurpose Glue.  If you use Snail, you will see pieces of it through the cut outs so the glue works much better on this kind of die.  Then I stamped the Butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Gorgeous Grape onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and punched them out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.  The stamp has both the large and small butterfly on one piece so you stamp and punch them out at the same time.  I stamped the sentiment and punched that out using the Classic Label Punch.  Then I took a few white sequins from the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins Pack and colored them using my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin Blend.  You can use your Blends to change them to any color.

To make this card, I took the leftover piece I had previously cut from the Stitched Lace Dies, cut the edges using the small edge die that comes in this set and then cut that in half using my trimmer.  I stamped the flower and sentiment from the stamp set called Beautiful Friendship using Highland Heather ink and the leaves with Old Olive.  Can you see in the picture how the flower has different shades of purple?  The stamp itself does this because it is a DisINKtive stamp set.  I love how these sets give a little texture to your images.  Lastly I adhere both pieces of the die cut on both sides of the cardstock and adhered that to a Highland Heather card base.

Now you can see how one die cut can have two different looks which makes it much more versatile.

Beautiful Friendship

I love the new stamp set called Beautiful Friendship that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It is definitely one of my favorite sets and it makes the prettiest cards.  In this case, I used the stamp set to make a background with a simple sentiment.

The colors I used are Crushed Curry, Pretty Peacock, Old Olive, Rococo Rose, Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss.  It is kind of an odd combination but I like how they all went together.  It looks a little fall-like since I used so many colors that are in the Regals family.  This card was fairly quick to make even with using so many different colors.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Beautiful Friendship

Hello everyone!  Today’s BS & J Production Challenge is to use your favorite stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  I wasn’t sure if we could use stamps that have matching dies or not so I decided to go a stamp set that did not have dies.

Beautiful Friendship is not a stamp set that I would normally gravitate to but it caught my eye the first time (of 100’s of times) I looked through the catalog.  I immediately put it on my “must have” list and ordered it the first day it became available.  I love roses and hydrangeas and this set has both.  It is a DisInktive stamp set.  DisInktive stamps were designed by Stampin’ Up!®.  Although it looks like I used multiple stamps on each image, it was actually only one stamp.  It is designed to show depth by laying ink down in different opacities.

To make this card I first stamped the Hydrangea in Seaside Spray.  Then I stamped the roses in Rococo Rose.  Both of these colors are new InColors.  I stamped the leaves in Old Olive and lastly, the sentiment in Rococo Rose.

Stampin’ Up!®  has been trying to remind Demonstrators to make cards aimed towards the beginner stamper.  This is someone who just started stamping and does not have a lot of supplies.  They want us to make cards using just ink, stamps and paper.  This card qualifies for that.  We need to tag this kind of card #simplestamping.

Now let’s go see what stamp set(s) Jackie and Buffy made.  I am sure their creations will make me want to buy whatever they use.  They usually do!
