Berry Blessings

Stampin Up Berry Delightful

As you can probably tell, I really love the Berry Blessings Bundle that is in the 2021 Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration Catalog.  Why do I love it?  It is beautiful but the best part is, it was FREE!  Unfortunately, this will be my last post using it because Sale-a-bration ends on Sunday.  That means this bundle will not be available anymore.  You won’t be able to get it for free or get it at all so if you love it, you need to place a qualifying order by Sunday.

This card is a Fun Fold card called a Slide and Lock.  I made one of these last July.  You can see it HERE.  The directions and measurements for a portrait card are included in that post so if you would like to see them, just click on that link.  It is called a Slide and Lock because the center section slides up to be removed and open the card.

Isn’t that fun?!

To make this card I first scored a 4.14″ x 11″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock at 2.75″ at 8.25″.  Then I cut 1/16″ off one end.  This makes it a bit easier to slide the middle section.  Then I layered two 2.5″ x 4″ pieces of Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper on both ends.  Remember, this paper is part of the Sale-a-bration Berry Blessing Bundle that you can get for free with a qualifying order until Sunday.  Again, the rest of the directions and measurements on how to make the sliding part are in the link above.  The only different is I used the Here’s  Card stamp set for the sentiment.  I cut it  and the piece of Poppy Parade cardstock that is behind it out using the Ornate Frames die set

Darling Donkeys

Stampin Up Darling Donkeys

If you have been following my blog for a while you know I am not into cute animal or people stamps.  I think part of it is because I can not color to save my life and most of the cutesy stamps need coloring.  Darling Donkeys is one of the stamp sets you can get for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order.  I placed my 2021 January – June Mini Catalog order and had enough to get a few of the free Sale-a-bration sets so I picked this stamp set.  Now that I have it, I realized it is kind of cute and not that hard to color at all.

This is a CAS (clean and simple) card.  I stamped the donkey in Memento Black Ink and then colored him using my Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake and Poppy Parade Stampin Blends.  I decided he needed to be cut out to look better so I actually used a Scan ‘N Cut to do this.  I am not very good at fussy cutting so the SNC worked pretty well.  I adhered the donkey to a piece of Basic White cardstock that I had cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  If you own one set of dies, it has to be these.  I use them all the time because they add a little interest to a plain rectangle and they come in so many different sizes.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink too and then layered everything on top of a piece of the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog and available to get for free with a qualifying order.  Apparently the ribbon I used is retired but you could use any ribbon.

Remember, if you order the Stitched Rectangles, Memento Black Ink and a couple of Stampin Blends Combo Packs you could get the Darling Donkeys stamp set for free!

Sale-a-bration continues until the end of February. It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. You get FREE products such as the ones I used on this card with a qualifying order and there are many more to choose from. It is also the best time to join my Stampin’ Up! family. For $99 you can pick $125 worth of products from the Annual or Spring Catalogs. Plus you get

Sweet Strawberry

Stampin Up Sweet Strawberry

Can you believe it is February already?  I don’t know how time flies by so quickly.  I think part of the problem is, it always seems like we are waiting for something.  We are waiting for our birthday or a vacation or retirement or just for the day to be over.  Julie Salva, who is a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator and my “upline” for another direct sales company I am a member of, did a video right before Christmas this year.  She talked about how sad it was that her Christmas was being spent alone with no children because they are usually together.  Then she talked about being “present”.  Live for the present.  Enjoy the present even if it is a change from the norm.  I loved her message and I am trying to live for the present these days instead of wishing the time would go faster because <insert whatever reason here>.  I am hoping this will slow time down.  I am not convinced that will happen but it still was a great message and a good philosophy to live by.

So February starts the second and last month of Sale-a-bration this winter.  There are so many great products in the SAB catalog that you can get for free with a qualifying order.  One of my favorite products is the Berry Blessings Bundle.  This bundle includes the Berry Blessing stamp set and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper pack.  You can get both of these items for free with a $100 order.  Another great thing about this bundle is it coordinates with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle that is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog. The Sweet Strawberry Bundle includes the Sweet Strawberry stamp set and the Strawberry Builder punch.   I decided to use both bundles for this card.  By the way, both stamp sets are two-step stamps sets which means it take two stamps to make one image.

The first thing I did was cut a piece of the Berry Delightful DSP on an angle and adhere it to a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I wanted it to look like a table with a table cloth on top.  Then I stamped the strawberries, strawberry tops and the flowers and punched them out using the Strawberry Builder Punch.  I stamped the blueberries and cut them out by hand and layered them all together.  I stamped the sentiment, which is in the Sweet Strawberry stamp set, in Garden Green ink in the corner and layered all of that on a piece of Garden Green cardstock.

Sale-a-bration is the best time of year because you can earn free products with a qualifying purchase.  It is also the best time to join my Stampin’ Up! family. For $99 you can pick $125 worth of products from the Annual or Spring Catalogs. Plus you get

Berry Blessings

Welcome everyone.  Today is another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me.  This time our challenge is to make something using our favorite Sale-a-bration products.  For my card, I used the Berry Blessings Bundle.  This includes the Berry Blessings stamp set and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper.  The best part about this bundle is you can have it for free with a $100 order!  How great is that?

Stampin Up Berry Blessings

I decided to make a simple fun fold card using these products.  It is called a Gatefold card (thanks Julia & Buffy) but instead of folding an 11″ x 4.25″ piece of Night Of Navy cardstock in half, I scored it at 2.75″ on both sides and then folded them both towards the center.  Then I added a  4 1/8″ x 2 5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock on each end and I layered a 2.5″ x 4″ piece of the DSP on top (again, on both sides).

The Berry Blessings stamp set is a two-step stamp set where you use two stamps to make one image.  I first stamped the leaves in Garden Green Ink and then the inside of the leaves in Granny Apple Green Ink.  I stamped both the outline and the inside of the blueberries and the sentiment using Night Of Navy Ink.  Then I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I layered that on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and adhered the left side to the card.   I only but the adhesive on the left side because If you put adhesive on both sides, it would not open.

This is what is looks like when opening it.

Stampin Up Berry Blessings

This is the card fully opened up.  I decided to put a couple strips of the Designer Series Paper on the inside too.

I have to say the colors in the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper are very vibrant.  Another really nice thing is this bundle goes well with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle in the 2021 January – June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog.

Now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made with their favorite Sale-a-bration products.  Maybe we all used the same products.  We have actually never done that before but there is always a first for everything.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world.
