Blackberry Beauty DSP

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was very busy. We spent Christmas Eve with my Nashville family and Christmas Day we drove to Alabama and spent a couple of days with that family. There is nothing better than spending the holidays with grandchildren. I love watching them open their presents and be so excited. Of course, what usually happens after all of that is a melt down but this year everyone was very good.

Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper is one of my all time favorite papers. It is just beautiful. The colors in it are Polished Pink, Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, and Cinnamon Cider. Then on one side of each sheet is a design with gold foil that makes it so rich and elegant looking. This Designer Series Paper is in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog and sadly, it will retire on January 3rd. This is one paper I will keep forever though. The best part about it is you can let the paper speak for itself so all you really need to do is add a sentiment and you have a gorgeous card.

This card was so simple to make. I layered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper on a Blackberry Bliss card base. The I cut another piece of the paper (2.75″ x 4″) and layered that on another 3″ x 4.25″ piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock.

Next I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder using my Heat Too. The sentiment is a sneak peek from the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog that is available on January 4th. The stamp set is called Friendly Hello and you can get that AND some 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper for FREE with a $100 order.

Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper

Designer Series Paper is a great product to use to add a lot of interest to a card.  I  have talked about being a DSP hoarder before.  It is so hard to cut those pieces up.  I keep thinking that I might use it for a class and if I cut them up I won’t have enough.  Or sometimes I can’t decide the direction I should cut it up in.  Some designs are great for landscape cards and some are great for portrait cards but some can be used for both.  This year I have decided to just cut it up and use it.  That is what it is for, right?

One of my all time favorite packs of Designer Series Paper is called Blackberry Beauty and it is in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  Honestly I was not a big fan of Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry but this paper has made me a big fan.  Some of the pieces of it have Gold Foil added to the designs and it makes it so rich looking. A couple of weeks ago I took out my pack of Blackberry Beauty DSP and cut it up.  Here are three of the cards I made using it.

Stampin Up Blackberry Beauty

I decided to pair this amazing DSP with my favorite sentiment stamp set called Biggest Wish.  I love the large, clean fonts in the bigger sentiments and the quirky font in the smaller stamps.  This first card is a simple, easy card to make.  I cut a piece of the gold foil and Rich Razzleberry paper onto a Rich Razzleberry card base.   I added a piece of the Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon along the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment “birthday” in Rich Razzleberry ink and then stamped the word ‘happy” overlapping on top with Versamark Ink.  I then embossed it using Gold Embossing Powder.  I actually did this twice using my Stamparatus so the word has some depth to it.   Then I added a small sliver of Gold Foil under the sentiment strip.

For this next card, I used a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  It is hard to see in the photograph but the flowers in the background have gold accents on them. It is just gorgeous in person.   I tied another piece of the Gold 3/8″ Simmer ribbon around it and then adhered it to a Cinnamon Cider card base.  I stamped the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink and cut it out using the Everyday Label Punch.  I adhered this to the card using Dimensionals.

This third card I used two different pieces of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper for the background.  I adhered them to a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock and a Cinnamon Cider card base.  I felt it needed some kind of separation of the two piece so I added a sliver of Gold Foil between them.  Next I cut out the leaves from the die set called Artistic in Rich Razzleberry card stock and glued it to the card using Multipurpose Glue. I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry Ink.  Lastly I added some Metallic Pearls in gold.

I love how every card uses the same paper and colors but each one is so different.  What is the point of this long post?  Use your Designer Series Paper!!

Blackberry Beauty

Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This week our challenge is to use the Colors Of Fall.  I actually made three cards using the Colors Of Fall.  I wrote an entire blog post for this challenge and then I changed my mind and decided to use this card that I made with the gorgeous Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper.  If you don’t have  this paper, you need to get it.  It is in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog.  The paper uses the colors Blackberry Bliss, Cinnamon Cider and gold foil. It is just beautiful! You can click on the link below to see a close up of it.

Here is the card I made:

Stampin Up Blackberry Beauty

This card was very simple to make but I think it is very elegant.  I first adhered a piece of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper to a Blackberry Bliss card base.  After that I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Peaceful Moments using Versamark Ink.  I embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.  One trick I learned is if you heat the embossing powder from behind it does not warp the card stock as much but still melts the powder perfectly.    I repeated that step two more times in order to make the sentiment stand out more.  It is really easy to stamp something a few times in the same position using a Stamparatus because if you put the card stock in the same place each time, the sentiment will stamp in the same place.

After embossing the sentiment three times I cut it out using a die from Tailor Made Tags.  This die set cuts out eight different sized tags in two different designs.  I cut out the feather from the die set called Nature’s Thoughts in Gold Foil and adhered it to the tag using Stampin Dimensionals.  Then I tied a piece of gold Baker’s Twine (retired) and adhered the tag to the card.

Now, let’s go see what colors Buffy and Jackie used for their cards.  I am sure they will be beautiful!
