Heart Happiness

In case you have been living in a cave recently and not looked at a calendar I thought I should warn you that Valentine’s Day is coming soon (soon meaning a couple of weeks).  You were probably wondering why you saw so many cards with hearts on them.  Oh wait, you were in a cave so you probably didn’t notice.  In any case, you need to start thinking about those Valentines.

If you are a little late to the game, the easiest way to make a bunch of cute Valentines is to use the new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes that are in the 2018 Catalog.  I love these note cards.  There are 20 to a pack and they include 20 envelopes.  As a side note, apparently the package says 40 on it.  There are only 20 cards so don’t get confused.

To make this very simple care I inked the heart stamp from Heart Happiness with Sweet Sugarplum ink right onto the notecard.  Then I stamped the small heart on Whisper White cardstock with Sahara and and cut it out using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and adhered it to the card with a Dimensional.  The sentiment is from Bloomin’ Love.  I thought it needed a little something more so I brushed Clear Wink of Stella on the small heart and added three Glitter Expoxy Shapes.  Here is a close up of the shapes:

I know they are hard to see even with the close up but they have a little glitter in them to add a little sparkle to your card.

Heart Happiness

Whenever I write a post for my blog I look up the name or the item number so I can put it at the bottom of the post in case anyone is interested in looking at it or buying it.  As I was doing this, I realized that the embossing folder I used is no longer available.  That is sad because it is a great embossing folder for Valentine’s Day and I decided to go ahead and post the card anyway.  Lots of people are looking for ideas that own this folder so I thought it would be ok to do.

I used some current product on this card too.  The heart is from a brand new stamp set that is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog called Heart Happiness.  I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then used my Stampin’ Blends to color it in.  The colors I used are listed below.  Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers so you need to use a water based ink such as the Memento Ink so it doesn’t smear when coloring.  After I was done I decided to add a little sparkle to the card and went over the flowers with my Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush. I know it is hard to see in the picture but it added just a subtle amount of glitter to it.

The banner and the sentiment are from a stamp set called Bloomin’ Love.  I used a die from the Large Numbers dies to cut it out.

Another Valentine

Bloomin Love

Here is a quick and easy Valentine to make if you don’t have a lot of time.  Today is the 8th so you don’t have that many days left.  I know some of you are procrastinators so I thought I might post a couple of easy Valentines this week to make at the last minute.

I used some Designer Series Paper called Love Blossoms.  It is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog and comes in a 6″ x 6″ stack.  There are 48 sheets in the stack which is a ton of paper.  The stamp is from the stamp set called Bloomin Love.  It is also in the Occasions Catalog (it is even on the same page 17).  This set has the most beautiful heart stamp.  I didn’t use it on this card because I have already posted a bunch of cards with it.

A Super Sparkly Valentine

Bloomin Heart, Bloomin Love

The hard thing about taking photographs and not being a professional photographer is I can’t seem to get the perfect picture to show you the amazing sparkle on this card.  Both the heart and flowers are made out of Glimmer Paper (Blushing Bridge and Dazzling Diamonds).  If you could see it twinkle in the light, you might be blinded.  Maybe it is a good thing I can’t take great pictures!

The heart is cut out using the new Bloomin Heart Thinlits Die.  It is so beautiful and elegant.  It is a very intricate die but there are no more worries about having to poke out all those little pieces.  Stampin’ Up! is now offering the Big Shot Die Brush which pops out all those pieces for you.  I wish Stampin’ Up! sold that product back when they sold those beautiful, yet intricate doily dies.  They were gorgeous but not a lot of fun to pick out all those pieces!

Bloomin’ Valentine

Bloomin' Love, Stampin Up

Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away so you need to get started making them soon.  Stampin’ Up! has some nice stamp sets in their 2016 Occasions Catalog that could be used for this purpose.  I used the stamp set called Bloomin’ Love to make this card.  I also used a technique that uses baby wipes.  Can you see how the stamp has a couple of different colors in it?  All you do is to put a few drops of different color ink onto a baby wipe and use it as an ink pad.  The stamp will pick up the different colors.  In this case, I used Blushing Bride and Rose Red for the colors.  It was really easy to do!  The banner is from the set of Framelits called Large Numbers.

Bloomin’ Heart

Bloomin Heart Thinlits, Bloomin Love

This is the second card we made at our monthly Stamp Club Meeting.  It used a set of new dies called Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits that are in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  There is also a stamp set called Bloomin’ Love and if you buy it in a bundle you can save 15%.

I think this die is so pretty.  In the past, it was hard to cut out dies like this.  It is not anymore!  Stampin’ Up! now sells the Precision Plate which works really well with intricate dies.  In addition this this, they sell the new Big Shot Die Brush which is awesome!  Here is a video showing how easy it is to get the little pieces out of intricate dies.

As you can also see, we used the Happy Heart Embossing Folder for the background.  The flower pieces are cut out of the new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper which is also in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  Lastly, the banner is cut out using the new Large Numbers Framelits Dies.
