Watercooler Challenge WCC22

bokah

This week’s Watercooler Challenge is from Heidi and is a watercolor background challenge. I decided to use the technique called Bokeh (Boh-kay).  According to Wikipedia, Bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light”.

This technique was very easy to produce.  I used the Aqua Painters and dipped them into ink (Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Wisteria Wonder).  Then I just painted these colors onto Shimmery White Cardstock in a random pattern.  I used Shimmery White instead of Watercolor Paper because it is smoother and easier to stamp on.  Then I punched various sizes of circles out of cardstock and used the the “holes” as a mask.  I used Whisper White Ink and dabbed it onto the cardstock using a sponge.  This effect makes it looked “blurred”.

I used the Hello You Thinlits to make the word “happy”.  I actually cut it out three times and layered them on top of each other to give it a little depth.

Here is the picture we were given to base our cards on.
