Warm Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes

First of all, I want to thank the “No Contact” orders I received this week.  Although I would love to know who you are because I want to personally thank you, I also respect your wish to remain anonymous.  In any case, thank you!

I got the idea for this card from my friend, Buffy.  Usually cards that are made with the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies have the window looking outside.  This is probably because the matching stamp set called Happy Scenes are outside scenes.  Buffy made a card using this die looking into the house.  I thought that was pretty clever!

The “curtains” are made using the new In Color 1: Dotted Lace Trim in Delightful Dijon.  Ok, I have to admit, I am not a fan of this color.  I usually like to give the new colors a little time before I decide whether I like them or not but this one just hasn’t grown on me yet.  In any case, the color went well with my brick wall.  The curtains remind me of a grandmother’s house.

To try to make up for the ugly curtains, here is a picture of Madelyn.  This is sure to make anyone smile!  She likes to roll over onto her stomach but then gets mad because she really doesn’t like to be on her stomach.  Silly girl!

Flower Pots On A Wall For Freshly Made Sketches 200

Gifts From The Garden, Brick Wall

Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th Challenge with lots of prizes.  Here is this week’s sketch:

FMS+Final+200+Vers_2-001

I love the new embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! called Brick Wall.  It is so much fun to play with.  You can use it to make so many things.  I used Cajun Craze cardstock and then sponged it a little with Chocolate Chip ink to “dirty  up” the brick.  I am not sure I have ever seen a clean brick wall.  The flowers and flower pots are from Gift From The Garden.  I colored them using Stampin’ Write Markers (Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Elegant Eggplant and Watermelon Wonder) .  The sentiment is from Sheltering Tree.  I love the font that is used with the sentiments in that stamp set.

Happy Birthday Everyone!

Happy Birthday Everyone

This is another card we made at our monthly Club Meeting.  I love this card because it shows off so many of the new products in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  First, there is the awesome hostess stamp set called Happy Birthday, Everyone.  You can only get this set with an order of $150 or more.  Remember you don’t have to order alone to make this goal.  You can get some friends to place an order together and then earn this set.

I also used a new Embossing Folder called Brick Wall (surprisingly enough!).  This folder is larger than our regular folders.  It is actually 6″ x 6″ so you can emboss a larger piece of card stock.  Lastly, but certainly not least, we used the new Banner Triple Punch to make the banners.  It is so easy to do.  If you like banners you need to get this punch.  It is amazing!

Watercooler Challenge WCC28

Banner1

It is that time again for a Watercooler Challenge!  This time Buffy gave us a color challenge.  I don’t know why, but I had a hard time with this one.  I guess that is why they call it a challenge!  If it was easy, then it might not be as much fun.  Here are the colors we needed to use:

Wondrous Wreath

I managed to use four out of the five.  I just couldn’t fit that last one into my design without getting a rash.  I used the Christmas stamp set called Wondrous Wreath but made it a spring/summer wreath instead of a Christmas one.  The background is a new embossing folder called Brick Wall and the punch at the bottom is also new and is called Washi Label.  The sentiment is from Tin Of Cards.

If you would like to see the other participant’s gorgeous creations, click HERE.  We would love for you to participate.  Just make a card using these colors (or as many of them as you can without giving yourself a rash) and post it to the Watercooler Challenge web site!
