More Fun With Masks

Today is my eldest son, David’s birthday.  David is an amazing young man.  He bright and handsome and one of the most generous people I know.  He will do anything for anyone.  He is a police officer and  I am so proud of him.

This is another card we made at our monthly stamp club.  We used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and the Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  This paste has so much sparkle yet it is subtle and so pretty when it hits the lights.

To make this card I first adhered a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock to my Silicone Craft sheet using Washi Tape.  I then layered the brick wall Mask over the top of the cardstock and adhered that down with some Washi Tape too.  I mixed a drop or two of Coastal Cabana Ink with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and stirred it using a Palette Knife.  Then you just spread it over the Mask.  After it dries, which does not take a very long time, I cut it down to 3 3/4″ x 5″.  That way if you missed any Embossing Paste along the edges it is ok because you cut them off anyway.

Here is another picture showing the sparkle a little better.

I cut the two balloons out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  I had to adhere the balloons with Multipurpose Glue because Snail would not stick on the Embossing Paste.  I cut the sentiment out using the Celebrate You dies (which are retiring at the end of this current catalog) with Gorgeous Grape yardsticks and then added the Silver and Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Happy birthday, David!

Blended Seasons

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  It uses the limited time Bundle called Color Your Season.  The stamp set is called Blended Seasons.  It is gorgeous!  It has flowers (Spring/Summer) and swirling leaves (Fall) and some holly and a Christmas bell (winter).  There are also six different sentiments.  My favorite is “I just miss you”.  Here is a picture of the stamp set up close:

The matching dies are called Stitched Seasons.  This set of dies is a must have.  They have three different stitched label shapes along with seven other dies.  Below is a picture of the dies.  I just love those labels!

To make this card we first stamped the flower stamp a a couple of times on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then we colored them to look like Magnolias using the new Watercolor Pencils and spread the ink around using a Blender Pen.  We cut out this using one of the stitched label dies as well as a larger one using Granny Apple Green cardstock.  The word Celebrate is from the set of dies called Celebrate You (in Basic Black).

The stamp set, dies and the Watercolor Pencils are only available until supplies last or August 31st (whichever comes first).  They say pencils “may” be in a later catalog but that has not been confirmed yet.  The stamp set and dies definitely will not be in any future catalog.  Hurry, before they run out!

A Patriotic Stamp Off Challenge

Good morning and Happy Friday to everyone.  Today is our day for our Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me!  Today we are doing a patriotic challenge.

Here is my card:

I just realized as I was posting this that I did absolutely no stamping with this card.  It was super easy to make.  I used Blueberry Bushel, Poppy Parade and Whisper White cardstock.  I like the Poppy Parade better than Real Red and the Blueberry Bushel instead of Night Of Navy because they are a little brighter.

To make this card I first embossed a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock using the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder.  Then I cut it at a diagonal and attached it to a piece of 4″ x 5.25″ Whisper White cardstock.  I cut three 1/2″ strips of Poppy Parade cardstock and adhered them to the Whisper White.  The word celebrate is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.

Now let’s go see what kind of patriotic card Buffy and Jackie made.  I am sure you will love them!

Celebrate You

Here is another color combination that I would never think of putting together in the past. I have been having a lot of fun experimenting with colors and I really love how this one came out.

To make this card I first cut out all the different circles using the Eastern Medallions Thinlits. The colors I used are Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana. I popped you the smaller circles using Dimensionals. Then I cut out the word “celebrate” using the Celebrate You Thinlits in Grapefruit Grove. Grapefruit Grove is one of the new InColors.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous. The stamp really says It’s Your Day but I masked off the word “It’s” before stamping it. This is super easy to do. I just cover the word I do not want to stamp with tape. Then I ink the stamp and remove the tape before stamping on my cardstock.

Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper

One of the things I love about stamping is you can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.  Sometimes you need a card quickly.  Usually that is when Rob comes home from work and asks for one for one of his employees or friends.  It reminds me of when the kids used to tell me right before they went to bed that they were assigned snack the next day.  In Rob’s defense I have never had to run out to the store late at night to buy anything and I don’t mind going to my stamp room to make him a card.

This card took me about 5 minutes to make.  Seriously, the hardest part was cutting the paper to size.  I took a piece of Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper and backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  Then I adhered it to a piece of Petal Pink cardstock.  The celebrate stamp is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  The stamp actually says “celebrate the good stuff” buy I masked off “the good stuff” part and just stamped the celebrate using Blackberry Bliss Ink.  To mask off part of a sentiment you just cover the part you don’t want with a Post-It Note or a piece of Washi Tape, ink the stamp and then take off the tape before stamping.  The hardest part is remembering to take off that tape.  Believe me.  I have forgotten many times!  Then I cut out the You with a die from the Celebrate You Thinlits set.

Designer Series Paper is great for adding some color and dimension to any card.  It saves you time from having to stamp something.  Stampin’ Up! offers a large variety of DSP with matching cardstock packs to make ordering even easier.

Sale-a-bration Ends In Two Days

It has been an awesome few months but, as they say, all good things must come to an end.  Honestly, I am not sure who said that but not ALL good things have to end but SOME good things must come to an end.  One of those good things is the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration.  There are only two days left until this amazing deal ends.  Have you gotten everything you want?  Does anyone ever get everything they want?  Well, don’t miss out on this deal because it won’t be back for another year.

This card was made with a few different Sale-a-bration items.  The Designer Series Paper was a new addition in February.  I think it is my favorite Designer Series Paper ever.  It is called Springtime Foils and is absolutely gorgeous.  It comes in five fabulous foil designs.  One of the great things you can do it with is color it with the Stampin’ Blends.

Another product I used for the sentiments in this card is a stamp set called Amazing You.  Plus the word “amazing” is from a set of dies called Celebrate You.  All three of the items I used (Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper, Amazing You and Celebrate You Thinlits Dies) are available for free with a qualifying order until tomorrow, Saturday, March 31st.

Celebrate You Thinlits

Have I told you lately how much I love the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies that I got for FREE?n  Yes, I said free.  During the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration you can earn products for free with a qualifying order and these dies are part of the amazing selection.

This card is super easy to make.  I used the chevron stamp from Work Of Art and stamped it in So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party.  The Stamparatus makes this so easy to do because of the moveable plates.  Then I cut the words out of Elegant Eggplant cardstock.  The whole card took less than ten minutes to make.

The Stamparatus & Celebrate You

I am sure you have heard of the Stamparatus by now.  It is the Stampin’ Up! new positioning tool that will be available for purchase in the new Annual Catalog that begins on June 1st.  Stampin’ Up! did make it available to reserve one early so a lot of us already have one.  It is an awesome tool that every stamper needs to have.

Here is a video showing you the basics on how the Stamparatus works:

To make this card I positioned a stamp where I wanted it to go onto the cardstock, inked it up and then stamped it.  Then I moved my card 180 degrees and did it again in the opposite corner.  I did this for each of the stamps on my card.

I di this with each stamp so both corners looked exactly the same.  When I was done stamping, I added the words Celebrate and you using the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  You can get these dies for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.

The cardstock color I used is Whisper White, Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo.  The ink colors are Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight.

During Sale-a-bration you can also get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order) or join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

Celebrate You Thinlits & Stencils

The internet is really an amazing thing.  You can find anything on there.  Now, you can’t always believe everything you see and read but there is a lot of useful information out there.  If you are looking for new stamping ideas or techniques there is a wealth of web sites out there.  The best part is it is ok to use a technique you found.  It is called CASEing (Copy and Share Everything).  There is a certain etiquette that if you know where you got the idea from, you should say so but sometimes you don’t know where it came from.  All you need to do is say that you “found this on the internet but don’t know who came up with it”.

I happen to find this technique using masks or stencils on the internet.  Jennifer McGuire did a video about it and I thought it was amazing.  All I did was place a mask over a piece of Whisper White cardstock (it helps to use Washi Tape to keep it in place) and sponge color over it.  Then I moved the mask a bit and sponge another color.  I did this four times to make the background in this card.  The colors I used are Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party.  Each time I moved the mask so there was only white space and then sponged.  Isn’t it awesome?!

The stencil I used is from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set.  It was simple to do and I love the results.

The word “celebrate” is a die from the Sale-a-bration Catalog called Celebrate You Thinlits.  The ‘you” is from another Sale-a-bration item called Amazing You.  You can get either or both of these items with a qualifying order.  The leaves are from the Leaf Punch.

Celebrate You Thinlits

Today is my youngest oldest sister’s birthday.  She is an amazing woman.  She is strong and determined and the best Pioneer woman I know.  I am very proud of her and totally jealous about all her birds that visit her daily.  Happy birthday, Katherine!

Celebrate You Thinlits Dies are one of the items you can get for FREE with a qualifying purchase during the Stampin” Up! Sale-a-bration.  I have said it before and I will admit it again, these are my favorite item in the whole Sale-a-bration Catalog.  They are big and bold and have so many ways you can use them.  They are for birthday cards, thank you cards, graduation, weddings, congratulation cards and the list goes on.  They are so versatile.  How can you get them?  Just place a qualifying order and they are yours.  For Free.  No money.  Zippo.  Zilch. Nada.  It is a $20 value at the very least.

I made this card using the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet.  This set is in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching Framelits and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  If you buy this as a Bundle you are more than halfway there to earning the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies for free.  Jut add some cardstock, Designer Series Paper, adhesives (which everyone needs all the time) or other items to your order.

I cut the the word Celebrate three times.  Once in Bermuda Bay, Night Of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I just cut the words apart and put them back together using all three colors.  Plus, now I can do this 2 more times.

I know it is hard to see but I did run a piece of Night of Navy cardstock through my Big Shot using the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.

Also during Sale-a-bration time you can get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or single order) and/or join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!
