Soft Seedlings

Stampin Up Soft Seedlings

I have to say that of all the stamps that are in the June – December Mini Catalog, Soft Seedlings is my favorite.  I love leaf stamps and I really like DisINKtive stamps.  If you don’t know DisINKtive stamps, each stamp creates different opacities in a single stamp, bringing depth to the image.  If you look at the leaves above you can see where the middle section is lighter than the edges.  That was done by the stamp and not because I didn’t ink it enough.  The sad part is this stamp set will be retiring when the mini catalog ends on January 4th so if you like it, you should purchase it before it is gone for good.

To make this card I first stamped the leaves in Blackberry Bliss ink.  Blackberry Bliss is not one of the colors I usually use.  I am not sure why because it is a gorgeous color.  Unfortunately, there is not a coordinating die with this stamp set so I had to fussy cut it out.  It wasn’t hard to do since most of the lines are pretty straight.  Just don’t look too closely.  Next, I used the Dots & Spots background die to cut out a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White card stock.  I layered everything on top of a Blackberry Bliss card base.  I added some Gold Swirls, which are not available anymore since they sold out.  Sorry, I had made this card before they were gone.

The sentiment is a hot foil die from PinkFresh.  I adhered it to my card using Dimensionals.

There is only one month left to purchase things from the June – July Mini Catalog.  Most of the products in this catalog are retiring so don’t miss out on your favorites.  If you would like to see the retiring list click HERE.

Biggest Wish

As you probably already know, Biggest Wish is my favorite Stampin’ Up!® sentiment stamp set. I just love large sentiments and these are super big. Plus they have two nice fonts that go well together.

To make this card I first cut 7/8″ strips of card stock in Night Of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party and ran them through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Checks & Dots Embossing Folders. I did two with the checks and two with the dots. I layered those on a 4″ x 5.25″ of Basic White cardstock and a Smoky Slate card base. I stamped the birthday sentiment in Pool Party ink and the happy in Pacific Point. Lastly I added the leaf in Smoky Slate. The leaf is from the die set called Intricate Leaves. It has a coordinating stamp set called Gorgeous Leaves (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle). Sadly, they are both retiring on January 3rd so if you like this bundle you will need to order it soon.
