The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Day One

Today is the first day of the Twelve Days Of Christmas.  Starting today and for the next 11 days, I will be posting a Christmas Card that is easy to make.  The point of this series is to show you that it is not hard to make your own cards.  If you start today and make a couple of cards a day, you will finish them in no time at all.

Today’s card uses the stamp set called Festive Flurry.  It has a matching Framelits also called Festive Flurry.  If buy both you will save 15% on the Bundle.  The “Peace” is from the set called Greetings of the Season.  This set is not in the catalog but is still available for purchase.

To make this card you just stamp the smallest snowflake in Midnight Muse and then cut it out using the matching Framelit.  Then you stamp the same snowflake in Soft Sky on the Whisper White, stamp the greeting in Midnight Muse and just put the card together.  Easy!

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

I have been a Stampin Up! Demonstrator since 2008.  During this time, I have heard over and over again how making your own Christmas card takes too long and is too involved.  I have decided to help those stampers who feel this way by showing them how to make simple, yet pretty, Christmas cards.

Beginning tomorrow, I am going to be posting some examples of Christmas cards that are easy to make.  A couple of them have only one layer, yet I think they are elegant enough to send out as your annual card.  Some only have two layers but others may have more.  None of them are very complicated.  Each day, for twelve days, I will post a new card.  Feel free to use any of the designs as your own.  I won’t tell!

I hope you enjoy my Twelve Days of Christmas.  Oh, and by the way, this takes away your excuse for making Christmas cards this year so get moving!

Freshly Made Sketches Christmas

Here is my entry for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the stamp set called Thoughts and Prayers and just used markers to color the leaves and flowers.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the stamp set called Greetings of the Season.  I love the font on this particular stamp.  Of course, I had to use Candy Dots.  I love, love, love them.  You still get the look of brads but no more punching and no more bulk when mailing your cards.  They stick very well on the card so they don’t fall off.  Plus they come in all the regular Stampin Up! colors (Brights, Regals, Subtles and Neutrals)!

Here is this week’s sketch:

Festive Flurry Christmas Card

I made this simple Christmas card using the Festive Flurry Stamp Set with the matching Framelits.  You can buy them both in a Bundle and save 15%.  I had cut out a snowflake in Whisper White for another project I was working on and realized I cut out one too many.  Instead of wasting it, I used it to make this card.  I took the larger snowflake and cut the smaller one out of the middle of it and attached it to the card with Dimensionals.  I am not sure if you can tell by the picture, but I made the snowflake in the middle with Heat & Stick Powder and Stampin Glitter in Silver which is in the Holiday Catalog.  To be totally honest with you, I am not sure if I have ever used my Heat & Stick Powder because I didn’t know quite what to do with it.  Then the Holiday Catalog came out and offered Glitter in Black & Orange and Silver & Gold.  The best way to put on the glitter is to use Heat & Stick Powder.

Festive Flurry & Freshly Made Sketches

By now I usually have a ton of Christmas cards to show you but I am having a hard time getting into the spirit this year.  It is not that I don’t love all the new stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog.  You will eventually see that I had to have a lot of them.

Freshly Made Sketches put out their weekly sketch so I decided to do something that has to do with the Holidays. I absolutely love the Frosted Finishes Embellishments in the Holiday Catalog.  It is really hard to see how beautiful they are from a picture.  They sparkly like crazy.  You will love them!  I used the stamp set called Festive Flurry which has beautiful snowflake shapes.  They also have matching Framelits and you can buy both in a Bundle and save 15%.  The “warm wishes” is from Snow Day which is the cute snowman set they have this year.

A Card From A Downline

Kim R was my first Downline.  She makes the most beautiful cards.  Here is her 2012 Christmas Card.  It is stunning.

Amy’s Christmas Card

My friend Amy is the one who got me loving stamping.  She invited me to a workshop and I was hooked immediately.  She kept telling me to go slow, but anyone who knows me, knows I don’t ever do anything slow!  That was back in 2005 and I still don’t buy Stampin Up products slowly.  I have to have it all and immediately!

Here is Amy’s card.  It is beautiful!

MDS Christmas Card

Christmas is getting closer and somehow you just didn’t have time to make your Christmas card.  This is exactly why My Digital Studio is so great.  All you need to do it open a pre-designed card, print it, stick a stamp on it and you are done!  If you are really lacking for time, you can even add a signature to the inside of the card so you don’t have to hand write every one.

Stampin Up has a lot of designs already made for you.  It is so easy.  Download MDS 2 today and you can mail your cards tomorrow!  Here is an example of a card that was all designed.  All I have to do it print it.

More Christmas Cards

Here are a couple of Christmas cards I received from friends.  Both of the cards used the embossing folder called Holiday Frame which is in the Holiday Catalog.  Debby’s used a retired color called Ballet Blue for her card.  I know it is hard to see, but she added sparkles to the frame using Dazzling Diamonds.  The ornament in the middle is from the set called Joyous Celebrations also from the Holiday Catalog.

Sandy made the next card which also used the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder.   She then used the Oval from the Designer Frames Embossing Folders in the center with a cute little bow at the top.  Her sentiment is from my favorite word set called Teeny Tiny Wishes.  It is embossed in gold and so are the ends of the pennant.  The card is adorable!
