Hearts Come Home

This is another card that we made at our monthly Stamp Club meeting.  It uses the stamp set called Hearts Come Home.  This stamp set has matching Edgelits called Hometown Greetings (although we didn’t use them on this card) and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

Commercial Break:  Before, I forget, I need to remind you that if you want to order from Stampin’ Up! you need to do it before December 14th in order to receive it by Christmas.  Also, if you want to take advantage of the 10% off on this Bundle you will need to order it before the end of the month.

Back to our regularly scheduled program:  This stamp set is one of the cutest in the Holiday Catalog.  Who doesn’t love that cute Santa and his sleigh flying over the houses?  It has the most beautiful sentiments too for both inside and outside of the card.  The Edgelits are gorgeous and can be used year round.  Really.  You need to get this set while you can still save the 10%!  I can’t guarantee that it will still be available once the new Annual Catalog comes out in June.

Eastern Palace Christmas

I know most people celebrate a Christmas in July event but this July I just wasn’t ready for it.  Maybe it was because the weather up here was so nice and I spent more time enjoying the warmth then thinking about a winter holiday.

In any case, Stampin’ Up! sent me a copy of the upcoming 2017 Holiday Catalog a couple of weeks ago. As a Demonstrator, we get to see it early.  Let me tell you. It is amazing.  There are so many gorgeous holiday stamps in that catalog that you are going to have a hard time choosing which one you want.  If you are like me, you buy a bunch of them anyway.

One of the things I always look for are some holiday sentiment sets.  I love big fonts and I love elegant fonts.  This year, there are a few to choose from (yay!).  I used Snowflake Sentiments on this card.  Isn’t that font just gorgeous?!?

To make this card I used the Eastern Palace Suite.  This suite includes stamps, dies, Designer Series Paper, embellishments and these beautiful Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers.  Everything in this suite coordinates with each other.  Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to do this.  The only problem you will have is deciding which suite to purchase!

A Quick & Easy Christmas Card

Santa's Sleigh, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Ok, Ladies.  It is almost October so it is time to think about what you are going to do for your Christmas cards.  I know the holiday season gets very busy and sometimes you just can’t find the time to make cards on top of everything else you have to do.  This is why I am reminding you to get started early.  I expect a Christmas card from all my friends and customers! I am just kidding.  Sort of.  Kind of.  Not really.  Get moving!

I made this quick and easy Christmas card to show you that you don’t have to get all fancy and complicated with your cards.  I used a new stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.

I embossed the background with an embossing folder called Softly Falling.  I traced the curve out with a bowl and then cut it by hand.  I find that cutting quickly make it smoother for some reason.  The first time I tried it came out all jagged because I went slowly.

Wine Bottle Tag

My Stampin Club met on Wednesday and one of the projects we did was to make a wine bottle tag. The tag is 8″ by 2.5″.  Score at the 3″ mark.  Cut two Scallops out using the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  Adhere on the the scallops on the neck and then punch out a circle using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch out a circle for the bottle of the neck.  The glass and the greeting are from the stamp set called Happy Hour.

Quick & Easy Christmas Ornament

This can be used as an ornament on your Christmas tree or as a package tag.  It uses the stamp set called Daydream Medallions and the Framelits called Floral Frames.  The Merry Christmas came from the set called Petite Pairs.  It is a great set and can be used for almost any occasion.   All you need to do is stamp and cut using your Big Shot.  Very easy and quick!

Quick & Easy Christmas Gift Bag

The last project our club did this month was to make this easy Christmas gift bag.

We made it using the Big Shot die called Fancy Favor Bigz XL.  You just pop in the card stock, roll it through the Big Shot and Voila!  You have a gift bag.  Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without adding some sparkle with Stampin Up Silver Glimmer Paper.  We finished it off with some Gumball Green 3/8″ Satin Stitch Ribbon.

Tis The Season

My mom came to visit me a while ago. She is 87 and lives in South Carolina.  Every time we get together I bring the supplies to make cards.  Last winter we made Valentines and this time she wanted to make her own Christmas cards.  Here is a sample of the card she made.

Evergreen, Real Red Glimmer Paper, Real Red Card Stock, Always Artichoke Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock

We used the stamp set called Evergreen from the Holiday Catalog.  The star and the pot are made using our Real Red Glimmer Paper.  I think she did a pretty good job!

Christmas Card Class Part One

Late last month I had the first of three Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stacks classses.  The group made 12 Christmas Cards (4 of 3 designs).  We had a great time.  I really need to start taking pictures of our meetings and classes so I can post them on here.

Here are the cards we made:

Christmas Club

Christmas Club 2012

This is the perfect, short-term club commitment for anyone who wants to send handmade Christmas cards but doesn’t feel like they have the time.  We will be meeting once a month during September, October and November to create 12 Christmas cards each month—4 each of three designs—for a grand total of 36 holiday cards at the end of the three sessions. You can come to one session or all three!

The dates are Wednesday, September 26th, October 24th, and November 14th 6 PM – 9 PM.   Cost is just $20 per person per month for the three month commitment. Again, you can come to one session, two or all three.  If you pay in full for all three sessions before September 19th I will give you 36 envelopes for your cards!

If you’d like to join me in being prepared in advance this year for the holidays, be all done with your cards by Thanksgiving, and have a fun night out once a month, call or email me today to reserve your spot!  There will be a limited number of spots available.  Prepayment 7 days prior to meeting is required.

PS—need more than 36 Christmas cards total? Consider signing up for two spots! You won’t be able to get them all finished in one session, but you could do all the stamping and prep work and then assemble at home at your leisure.
