Mixed Bunch

By now I am sure you are asking yourself, when is she going to stop using that Primrose Petals.  I hate to say this, but hopefully never.  This is on In Color I will be very sad to see go!.

This card uses the Primrose Petals Core’dination Paper.  After you emboss this paper you can lightly sand it to have the white show through.  I think it is a great effect.  The flower is from Mixed Bunch and the leaves were cut using my Big Shot and the Little Leaves Sizzlits.

Can You Count The New Product In This Card?

I love Christmas but I am so tired of seeing Christmas projects.  This next card has a lot of new product from the Spring Catalog in it.  I used the Oval Framelits, the Primrose Petals Core-dinations Paper, The new Honeycomb Embossing Folder and new Designer Series Paper called Print Poetry.  I think the 2013/2014 In Colors are some of my favorites.  I am going to miss these when they retire.  Good thing we still have another year and a half before they go.

Don’t forget you only have until January 2, 2013 to buy individual stamps.  This Happy Birthday stamp comes from the set called You’re Amazing from the Annual Catalog

Something New – Soda Pop Tops

Those of you that know me pretty well, know I am a clean and simple stamper.  I am not into the vintage look and whenever I try, I am a complete failure at it.  All I can do it CASE (Copy and Share Everything).

In the new Occasions Catalog that comes out in January, there are Soda Pop Tops.  What on earth would you do with Soda Pop Tops?  Well, to be honest, I got them in a special package from Stampin Up (which by the way, is a perk of being a Stampin Up Demonstrator.   Ask me if you are interested!).  So I sat at my stampin desk and stared that this package of Soda Pop Tops for a very, very long time.  I just could not wrap  my brain around them.

I figured the best thing to do with them is to make some kind of masculine card, which is always a challenge in itself.  I got out my new Honeycomb Embossing Folder and used it on some Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations Paper.  The rest sort of fell into place.  I used a new stamp set also from the Occasions Mini called Collage Curios, Tiny Tags Stamp Set, the Jewelry Tag Punch and some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine and the result is this card below.

October Club Meeting

We had another great time at our October Club meeting.  We welcomed back Ann from her summer hiatus on the river.  The first card we made used a lot of items from the Holiday Catalog.  The stamp set is called Friendship Preserves.  We first stamped the Thanks a Bunch stamp from this set in Cherry Cobbler and then cut it out using the new Window Framelits.  We then took the larger sized Window Framelits and cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  We then used the new Paper Piercing template also in the Holiday Catalog.  We then embossed a piece of the new Core’dinations card stock in Cherry Cobbler with a folder in the Delicate Designs set and lightly sanded it.  I love the look of this new paper.  It adds a lot of dimension to the projects.  We finished off the card using Seam Binding ribbon in Crumb Cake.  I love this ribbon because it is so soft and easy to use..  It comes in a bunch of different colors.  The ribbon is on page 172 of the main catalog.

The next card we made was for Thanksgiving using an older set called Day of Gratitude.  It has some beautiful stamps in that set, including a leaf, acorn and a larger background stamp.  The Designer Series Paper we used is called Comfort Cafe and is one of my favorite papers for fall.  The colors used are Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede.
