Coming Home

Coming Home is a cute stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® August – December 2020 Mini Catalog (previously known as the Holiday Catalog).  It has a set of coordinating dies called Home Together and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  It is also the “Making A Difference” stamp set of this catalog.  This means that when you purchase this stamp set, Stampin’ Up!® will donate $3 to charities devoted to adoption, foster care and infertility.  By the way, every catalog Stampin’ Up!® puts out has a Making A Difference stamp set in it.  They have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities over the years.

This is a very simple card to make.  I stamped each element in it and cut them out using the coordinating Home Together Dies.  The house is So Saffron, the trees are Just Jade and the car is Misty Moonlight.  I had to make the car blue because the first car I ever owned was a dark blue Volkswagon Bug.  I loved this car until I moved to the North Country.  Volkswagons were not known for their heating system and in the winter I had to cover my legs with a blanket and hold an ice scrapper to keep the windshield clear of ice.  Needless to say, I traded my Bug in for a car that had heat before the next winter.  It was a little too chilly for me!

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Country Home.  This set is in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

County Home Fun Fold

Good morning everyone.  Today I made a cute fun fold card that I saw on the internet somewhere (sorry I can not remember where).  The card I saw that was made by a stamper from the UK named Amanda Charlesworth (if you click on her name it will take you to a link on her YouTube channel with directions).  Her measurements made a larger card than I wanted to make so I had to experiment with how to make it a regular A2  (5.5″ x 4.25″) card but other than the measurements, I followed her directions.  Once you learn how to make the sliding piece, the rest is easy.  I listed the measurements of each piece below.

This fun fold is called Slide and Lock.  The middle section keeps the card together and you slide it up to open it.

The sentiment I used for this card is from the stamp set called Country Home.  The Designer Series Paper is Flowers For Every Season.  I used a die from Stitched Shapes to cut out the sentiment.  The measurements are as follows:

Card base:  Whisper White 8.5″ x 5.5″ scored at 2 1/8″ on both sides.  Then I cut a 1/16″ off one side to make it slide better.

The side panels on the card base (using the DSP) are 1 7/8″ x 5.25″ and 1 15/16″ x 5.25″ (remember you needed to cut that 1/16″ off one side so you have to adjust the DSP for that.

The sliding mechanism is 4 pieces of Whisper White cardstock 2.75″ x 2.75″.

2 pieces of Misty Moonlight cardstock 2.5″ x 2.5″

1 piece of DSP 2 3/8″ x 2/38″

1 piece of Whisper White cardstock cut out with a square from the Stitched Shapes Dies.

I think it would be fun to use different shapes for this card such as a circle, a star or a label die.  Thanks, Amanda for sharing your directions!

Country Home

I am so happy that the stamp set called Country Home is going to be carried over into the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It is a great stamp set to color and has eight different sentiments you can use for all kinds of occasions.

To make this card I first stamped the pitcher and the flowers in Memento Black Ink and colored them using Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I decided I wanted to give the card a little dimension so I cut it out and placed it on top of another piece of Whisper White cardstock with Dimensionals.  Then I just added some more Smoky Slate underneath so the pitcher wasn’t floating in the air.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink.

Country Home

Country Home is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  It is a great stamp set to use especially in the Fall.  The flowers always remind me of going to see my grandparents who lived in Vermont.  They didn’t have cotton but they did have a lot of similar wild flowers in the fields surrounding their house.  We spent a lot of time there growing up and I have very fond memories of it.

To make this card, I first stamped the pitcher and flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I colored them using my Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  Then I backed it on a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock and layered it on a piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in Brights.  I always purchase all the colors in this paper.  The designs are fun and of course, they match all the colors in the catalog.

I didn’t put a sentiment on this card because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to put.  I can always add it later when I know.

During the month of September you can buy three packs of select Designer Series Paper  and get one free!

First Frost

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  We used the stamp set called First Frost and the matching dies called Frosted Bouquet.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  They are part of a Suite called Frosted Floral.  This Suite in clouds the most gorgeous Designer Series Paper  called Frosted Floral.  It is so elegant and is printed on shimmer paper.  You can’t really see the shimmer in this photograph by at least you can see the patterns.

Also included in the Suite is cardstock, ribbons, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets (my favorites!) and embellishments.

The colors I used on this card are Powder Pink, Poppy Parade, Gray Granite and Tranquil Tide.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Country Home.  All of these products are in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.

Country Home and Daisies

I decided to take a break from Christmas, winter and snowflake cards for one day,  Stampin’ Up!® has so many other stamps and colors that I sometimes forget about those during this season.  This card may be a little summery for November but it is a happy card which is a good thing year round.

To make this card I first punched a flower from the Daisy Punch three times from Petal Pink cardstock.  Petal Pink is such a pretty color.  It is a little bit pink and a little bit peach.  I cut the leaves from the Flourish Thinlits Dies in Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Country Home which is in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  After I put it all together I decided to add a little sparkle to the flower.  It is the holiday season, after all (even if this was supposed to be a break), so I added some Clear Wink Of Stella on the petals.

Country Home

Country Home is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2018 Holiday Catalog.  I have used it several times on some cards that I have posted here.  It comes with a milk container and a pitcher image which is what I have used for all my cards.  I decided to make this one not using either of those stamps to show that the set can be used in other ways.

To make this card I first stamped the flowers in Memento Ink and then colored them using the Light Soft Suede, Light and Dark Old Olive and Light Night of Navy Stampin’  Blends.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and cut it out using a die from the Foliage Frame Framelits and then cut off the bottom.  I wrapped a piece of Nature’s Twine around a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock and layered everything on top of the flowers.

Here is another card using the new stamp set from the 2018 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog.  It is called Country Home.  I love the two containers that are in this set as well as the flowers and sentiments.  It is a great stamp set to color too!  I used my Stampin’ Markers this time.

Country Home is part of a suite of products that Stampin’ Up!® puts together.  They make it so easy to put matching products together for you.  In this Country Lane Suite there is also Designer Series Paper called Country Lane, 3/16″ Braided Linen Ribbon, and amazing Embossing Folder called Tin Tile and Galvanized Metallic Paper.  I used the Tin Tile Embossing Folder o the Galvanized Metallic Paper on this card.  It is just like an old tin ceiling you would find in an old farm house.  There are also other products that go in this suite.  The whole suite is on page 43 of the Holiday Catalog.

The colors I used for this card are Merry Merlot (a deep rich burgundy color), Crushed Curry and Old Olive.

Country Home

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting this week. I know I have said this before but I have the best club members.  I always look forward to our meetings.

To make this card we uses=d a couple of new products in the 2018 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog.  The stamp set is called Country Home.  It is a great set for coloring with any medium.  We used Stamps’ Blends in Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.  This set has two containers.  The other one is a pitcher.  It also has two different sets of flowers and eight different sentiments.

The background is actually a stamp and not Designer Series Paper.  It is called Buffalo Check.  This is a background stamp which means it is one large stamp.  The best way to ink it is to turn it face up and pat your ink pad all around it. Then place your cardstock on top.  Cover the cardstock with a piece of scrap paper and rub all over.  It gets the ink more evenly when you do this.
