I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of extra card stock scraps hanging around. I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to card stock so I end up keeping a lot of scraps that I should probably let go. I think Marie Kondo would be horrified if she came into my stamp room. In case you are unaware who Marie Kondo is, she is a woman who downsized and shared her method on how to do this. I actually used her method when we moved from New York to Tennessee. You are supposed hold each item you own and ask if it brings you joy. If it does not, then you need to get rid of it. It actually worked well when I packed my clothes but it did not work well in my stamp room. Someday I might need that 1/2″ x 4″ piece of card stock you know! Plus by the time I packed up my stamp room, I was tired of organized packing and at the end some of the things were just thrown in boxes.
Anyway, I decided to use some of my card scraps the other day. I chose Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody (all Brights!). Each strip of card stock is 1/2″ x 4″. I layered them onto a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock. I layered this on top of a Basic White card base. Next I took another piece of Basic White card stock and cut out the rectangle using the Scalloped Contours Dies. I then took the heart die from Bouquet Of Love and cut that out. I stamped the word from the stamp set called Create With Friends (which is retiring on May 3rd) using Memento Black Ink. Layered this piece on top of the card base using Dimensionals.
The Marie Kondo method of cleaning things out may work, but if you are like me, everything in my stamp room gives me joy!
