Yesterday I had my first in-person mini card class since the COVID mess started with a neighbor of mine. She has a cottage a couple of doors down from us and we have been spending the summer together so we both thought it was safe to do a class. I had forgotten how much fun it is to teach someone new to stamping. They always think they aren’t creative and can’t do it and it is fun to watch them realize that they can and that they love it!
We made three simple cards. Two of them just involved stamping and the third one we did some die cutting with the new Stampin’ Up!® Cut & Emboss Machine. These are the two stamping cards.
The first one we used the stamp set called Cute Fruit. This set is in the Stampin’ Up!® Beginners Brochure. I first stamped the background pineapples in BumbleBee Ink on BumbleBee cardstock. Then we stamped the pineapple in BumbleBee and Granny Apple Green ink.
The second card I used some World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and the stamp set called Sailing Home. Both of these cards just involved stamps, paper and ink.
She loved making those cards so I decided to step it up a bit to show her how to die cut an image. I actually posted this card a few weeks ago on my blog but I will show it to you again. It used the dies called Stitched Leaves. She loved the way the dies cut the leaf and added the stitching to it. The sentiment is from the stamp set called Lovely You. It has a coordinating punch called Banners Pick a Punch.
I will always remember my first time stamping. I was invited to a workshop. I didn’t want to go but it was being held by a friend of mine so I felt obligated to go. I am so glad I did! I loved it from that minute on! Everyone can stamp. Even people who are as un-artisitic as me! Stampin’ Up!® makes it so easy. Remember that commercial where it said “Try it. You’ll like it”? I can’t remember what it was for, but it certainly pertains to stamping. I haven’t met a single person who didn’t enjoy making a card or two.
