Dear Doily

Dear Doily is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019 Occasions Catalog.  It had a set of matching die but due to their popularity they sold out and Stampin’ Up! can not get anymore in time before the catalog retires.  I just wanted to show you that you can still use the stamp set and make cute cards.

Stampin’ Up! has been talking a lot about the different kinds of stampers.  There is the Beginner, who is someone who is brand new to stamping.  There is the Casual stamper who has a few supplies and the Avid Stamper who has to have it all (like me!).  This card is for the beginner stamper.  It only uses one color of cardstock, stamps and ink.  It is quick and easy to make and I think anyone who received this in the mail would love it.

To make this card, I randomly stamped the background using the Dear Doily stamp set in Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green.  Then I used a stamp from Timeless Textures and Daffodil Delight ink to break up all the white.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This set is in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog.

Daisy Delight

These past couple of weeks have been a little crazy for me.  First, I flew to Savannah, GA to drive my Mom to her place in Florida.  Mom is 92.  Although she still drives (which is a little scary) driving all the way to Florida is a little too long.  Every year Rob and I drive her so it has become kind of a tradition.  We get to see Mom and my sister and brother in law, Emily & Peter (Peter actually reads my blog!)  plus we get a little warmth and sunshine.  It is nice to get out of this cold, snowy weather and see that big yellow ball in the sky which has been hiding from us since October.

After driving Mom, we were home one day and drove to see my son and his wife, Sam and Tara and my grandchildren, Madelyn and Nolan.  You all know that seeing my grandchildren is my favorite thing in the whole world.  Believe me, there will be pictures to follow soon!

I made this card using the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  It is in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The Designer Series Paper is also in the Annual Catalog and is called Color Theory.

Last week BS & J Productions did a Stamp Off Sketch Challenge.  Sometimes we set up these challenges weeks ahead of time.  Sometimes I see the challenges and get a card in my head so I make it a long time before it is scheduled to post.  This is the case with this card.  I saw the sketch, made the card and then promptly forgot about it.  I was going through my stash today and found it.  Sometimes it is hard to get old and lose my mind!

So, again, here is the sketch challenge from last week:

Funny how my card I posted for the official challenge (HERE) looks exactly the same except for the different products!  I guess that is what a sketch challenge is all about.

This time I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This was the most popular set in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog when it first came out.  It has a matching punch called Daisy and the punch itself sold the entire 6 month supply in a week (or something like that).  It was a crazy time but no worries.  Stampin’ Up! has it back in stock.  You can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  There is also matching Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

If you purchased the Daisy Delight Bundle, the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and a pack of cardstock you would be eligible to choose a free item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

One Layer Card

Need a card quickly?  All you need to do is make a one layer card.  It can’t get any easier than this.

I used Very Vanilla cardstock as a base.  Then I stamped the different sized leaves from the stamp set called Colorful Seasons in Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron and Pool Party.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Daisy Delight in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.   That is it!   You have a beautiful card in about 3 minutes.

Too bad the leaves outside are still not looking as pretty as these. Right now they are mostly on the ground looking brown and ugly waiting for someone to rake them up.  I am kind of hoping it will get really windy and just blow away!   Last week we were in Alabama.  It was 80 degrees there with sunny skies.  When we got home it was a 51 degree difference.  There was frost on our car! Tell me again why I live here?  I need to pull out all those sunset pictures I took during our beautiful summer days!

Daisy Delight & Blends

In case you live in a cave and haven’t heard, Stampin’ Up! just released their alcohol markers called Stampin’ Blends.  I have had a few people ask me about the old Blendabilities and all the issues they had.  Stampin’ Blends do not have those issues.  The company who made the Blendabilities had hole in their caps which made the markers dry out.  The Blends don’t.  They also had these caps that were hard to put on correctly and if you did it the wrong way you would ruin your tip.  The Blends don’t have that issue either.  There is only one way to put on the cap.

I colored the daisy from Daisy Delight with the Rich Razzleberry Blends.  It was super easy to do because the markers do blend so well.  I find it easier to use the darker color first and then blend it with the lighter color.  Some people do it the opposite way.  Whatever works for you is fine.

The leaves are a new punch that is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog called Leaf Punch.  It goes with the stamp set called Painted Harvest but obviously you can buy it separately. The sentiment is from Birthday Banners.

After the Annual Catalog came out on June 1st, a Stampin” Up! product made world history.  Now, I am not sure it was a big enough event to end up on CNN, although, if you pay attention to everything Stampin’ Up! you would have thought it should be.  It caused quite a ruckus in the stamping world!

Normally, a punch sells around 7,000 units in it’s lifetime.  The Daisy Punch sold over 10,000 units it’s first month!  That is a lot of punches!  The good news, is the Daisy Punch is back in stock with lots to go around so if you missed it in the beginning, order it now.  Don’t forget to order the matching stamp set called Daisy Delight.  If you order both in a Bundle, you will save 10%.

I made this card using the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy Punch.  The background is an Embossing Folder called Polka Dots Basics.  The colors are Pool Party, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay.  It is one of my many favorite colors combinations.

A Second Daisy Delight

Here is the second thank you card I made for my awesome neighbors at the lake.  If you read my post a couple of days ago, you would know that we bought a house at the lake and a couple of our neighbors brought us a welcoming gift so I needed to make a couple of cards to thank them for their kindness.

Daisy Delight is a great stamp set for making thank you cards because it has a big “thank you” stamp.  I love big bold word stamps so I knew I had to have to this set.  As a matter of fact, this set was so popular, it sold out quickly after the Annual Catalog even went live.  Then it sold out again and they had to turn this item number off.  Well, I am happy to report that it is back in stock and available for purchase again.  Let’s hope it doesn’t disappear again!

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Fresh Florals.  This pack has 40 sheets of double sided paper and comes in the 2017-2019 In Colors.

As some of you might know, Rob and I bought a small cottage on Lake Ontario in May.  It is awesome and is a dream come true.  We have always wanted to live on the water.  I have to pinch myself to remind me that it really happened.

One of the best things about this cottage (other than it is right on the lake) is the neighbors.  They are all so nice and friendly and lots of fun.  They all have big families that come up on the weekends.  Rob and I really enjoy watching all these kids running around having a great time.

A couple of the neighbors were so kind and brought us welcoming gifts.  Stamping at the cottage has been a challenge but I have managed to do it.  It takes me forever to make a card because I keep spending most of my time staring out the windows at the waves.  At home, my stamping area is in the basement with no windows so it is easy to concentrate down there. Not so much here.

In any case I needed to make a couple of quick thank you cards.  I used the Daisy Delight Stamp set and matching punch called Daisy (you can buy both in a Bundle and save 10%). As you recall I am also trying to use my Designer Series Paper (I used Delightful Daisy) more often.  These items all go so well together (as you can tell by the names!).  I’ll show you the other card I made in a couple of days.

Daisy Delight & Embossing Paste

This is the first card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  We used a couple of new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2017/2018 Annual Catalog to make it.

The first product we used is the new Embossing Paste.  Where have you been all my life?  I love this stuff.  It comes in white but you can make it any color you want by adding a couple of drops of ink to it.  In this case, we added So Saffron ink.  This paste is great.  It adds a lot of texture to the card and Stampin’ Up! makes it is so easy to do.  You can buy the Embossing Paste, the Pattern Party Decorative Masks (we used the brick one) and the Palette Knives.   We put a little paste on the Silicone Craft Sheet, added the ink and mixed it up with a Palette Knife.  Then we held down the mask with a couple of pieces of Washi Tape onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and spread the past over the mask.  It dries fairly quickly so make sure you wash the Silicone Sheet, Palette Knife and Mask right after spreading it.

The stamp set is called Daisy Delight.  It has a matching punch called Daisy Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy and Jackie.  This time our challenge is to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our project.  We do this because, we are all hoarders and need to start using our DSP!

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  I also used the new 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party.  This ribbon is so beautiful.  It is hard to tell from the picture but it has a slight shimmer to it.  Gorgeous!  Lastly, I used the Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.  This paper has beautiful, soft colors such as Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made with their hoarded Designer Series Paper.
